Pros: "My flight was postponed or delayed as the airline like to call it until the next day due to Narita International Airport closing after 11pm! First of all I didn’t realize major international airports closes especially with a airplane still on the runway! After our flight was “delayed” Korean Airlines scrambled to get us into hotels. This process was very poorly organization and many of us non Japanese speakers were left very confused because they kept forgetting to interpret what they said into English. I had to keep reminding them. We had to stay in long lines throughout the process which took up at least 3hrs. On top of that we waited at least 45 minutes the day after to get our new boarding passes! I was so over my trip to Japan by then and very disappointed with how Korean airlines handled the situation. I will most likely not take Korean airlines again and it will be a long time until I take another trip to Japan."

Cons: "As I was about to board, I was denied carrying on my backpack with the few items I would need for the flight, so I was forced to put them into my carry-on suitcase which was loaded elsewhere, out of reach.. The insanity of it all - so glad the woman can count to two - is that I was forced by this angry person to carry my laptop and tablet onto the airplane in my hand, as she absolutely would not allow me to put them into my empty backpack, claiming this would constitute a third item. Of course, no one else was forced to take their computers out of their protective cases, only myself, because it was a backpack. I am 66 years old, travelling alone, and frankly am not the only international traveler who experiences unbelievable rudeness when in US airports."

The crew was incredibly well dressed in professional attire. The accommodations were amazing - the flight came with the standard pillow/blanket combo, disposable slippers, headphones, a toothbrush, two meals, a snack, drinks, and the attendants dimmed the lights whenever they weren't serving - all free. The entertainment was amazing - I watched four Hollywood movies that I had been wanting to watch, and that was one section of the movies. There were also TV series and music available, both in English and Korean."

Cons: "We travel between the US and Asia a couple of times a year and normally fly on EVA, who has wonderful service and great food. We took Asiana this time because the ticket price was significantly less than EVA. Below are the reasons we won't do it again. 1. The food was awful. My wife had the Asian dishes and I had the Western dishes. Both were well below the quality of food we're used to on EVA. 2. Transit in Seoul. On the way to Bangkok from LA we had 50 minutes to transit Seoul to our next flight. The transit security line was quite long and it was obvious that we, along with a few dozen other passengers, weren't going to be able to make the connection. After much complaining from us and our fellow passengers they ran us through another security line. Rushed to the airplane and made it. On returning to LA from Bangkok it was exactly the opposite. The only option was nearly 8 hours connection in Seoul. But we had plenty of time to negotiate the transit security line. These connect times did not occur because of a last-minute ticket purchase. I purchased these tickets in July for a December/January flight to Bangkok and return. 3. Inflight service was not at the level of EVA. Like any other Asian carrier, the flight attendants were light years ahead of ANY US airline crew, but below the standard of EVA. Waking you up to eat a meal (I typically don't eat dinner at 1AM), etc. I was sleeping with my seat reclined and the flight attendant took it upon herself to upright my seat at meal time and woke me up, presumably so the person in the seat behind me was more comfortable with space to eat their meal, but hey...I purchased the seat to sleep just like the other passenger purchased the seat to eat, so I think I had just as much right to "my space and comfort" as the other passenger did. Just little stuff that doesn't happen on EVA. 4. Inflight entertainment is lacking as compared to EVA. Few movie and TV choices, few game choices. 5. We sat in economy. The seats were not very comfortable. Seems the cushions were thin and it became like sitting on plywood after a while. Legroom on the 747 flight wasn't so great, but there was plenty of legroom on the A380. The A380 seating was still kinda hard, but the legroom sure helped. 6. Boarding process. Poorly organized. Nobody pays a bit of attention to "boarding by row number". Consequently it's a bit of chaos during boarding. The old saying, "you get what you pay for" is true. For a flight of that length I won't choose to save the $200 or so per ticket and will ride on EVA. We've proven to ourselves that EVA is just pretty hard to beat."

The flight staff was friendly and courteous and had a smile throughout the flight. The lighting was so much brighter than with the first and second legs of my flight and the plane was very clean, to the point where one could eat off the floor. the in-flight entertainment, clothes rack, charger, and remote controller were all right in front of you instead of being tucked in by your side. The food quality was savory and refreshing. I should have asked for a second meal as it was that good even for a short economy flight."

When we finally found the office, their answer was to contact Chicago crew when we get back! No solution for us for the mean time! I’ll be on vacation for a month! Now I guess I have to pay for a new one out of my pocket for their mistake!"

Pros: "When checking in, the agent upgraded me to an exit row for free, which Asiana sells as a "preferred" seat. The legroom was phenomenal and the seat next to me remained empty. I was in the first row of the economy cabin, so I was the first to get served during the meal time and the first to have the trash collected. The seat was comfortable and had ample padding, even though the armrests could not move due to being in the exit row."

Myself and a few other passengers just waited around the gate area until final call and then boarded, avoiding having to stand in the line that stretched to the next gate. The aircraft was an non-refurbished A330, featuring the old TV screens that showed entertainment in a loop. Good enough for a 2 hour flight, but any longer and AVOD would have been nice. Flight was delayed for 1 hour, we landed 1 hour late, but I still had enough time to make my connection."

Pros: "Not knowing much about this airline, I was pleasantly surprised with the short flight from Edinburgh to Dublin. Sorry all you plane geeks, I don't know what model aircraft it was, but I was seated in the middle of a 2-3-2 arrangement. Boarding was speedy, staff pleasant and even offered a sandwich in the short hop. Seats were comfortable and being early on a Saturday morning, it was not fully packed. This meant that getting off was not a chore. I'd definitely use them again and wouldn't hesitate in recommending you use them for the sort flight like I made."

It was very hectic and nobody knew where they needed to be or what was going on. Plus, customs took so long that we probably would have missed our flight anyway, even if it didn't arrive late in Seattle. It was an awful experience after traveling for 20 hours."

I arrived in Beijing for a layover, and was inconveniently supposed to pick up my baggage and check it again. However, my baggage wasn't there. I went to the baggage inquiry counter, and the guy behind the counter told me to check overside luggage for my lost bag. He then filled out a confusing piece of paper, and told me to call the number on the bottom of the sheet when I got to Chengdu. Once in Chengdu, I called the number and it didn't exist. Overall, because of the incident, I was given the run around. Every time I called the airline, they couldn't really answer any of my questions or help me out. Luckily, I had a few days to spare before I was leaving Chengdu and would need my baggage. I think Hainan should just have a better system for those types of things.... Not impressed"

But I could not explain that to the crew nor ask why I could not use my iPhone, because the cabin crew's English consists of set phrases, not fluency. I traveled Lufthansa many times in the past when they had Portland-Frankfurt direct flights. The service and food was superior on those flights compared to what I experienced on this recent flight. Food was terrible. Drink service came by once with no follow up. (would have like a second glass of wine). Entertainment selections were boring. (too much Tom Cruise!) Headphones did not work at all. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I question if I'd fly Lufthansa again.

Air Canada was late arriving so I raced through the airport, pushing my mother in a wheelchair. We got to the gate while the passengers were still boarding but were denied because Air Canada already rebooked us. We were told we had to stay with our bags. They rebooked us through London, not directly to Munich. That flight was also very late so we had to rebook in London and arrived in Munich hours later than planned. Our bags never arrived. I had to go buy some clothes quickly. My bag was found in lost and found 2 days later when we flew out of Munich and my mothers was sent onto London where we are currently visiting. If we had not arrived at the Munich airport 5 hours early for our flight we would not have been able to get to lost and found to get my bag. Lufthansa agents at the counter where we had to get a pass to go through security to get to lost and found were unfriendly and treated us as if we were a bother to them. It’s not our fault we had to go find our bag. This all caused a lot of stress for us and a much longer travel time.

Lufthansa has crazy passport control policies

9 hour flight with the worst airline food I ever had- cheese looked like it got wet and dissolved into the dried out bread. it. Completely full plane. Paid $82 to check one of our carry on bags because it had some silverware with knifes in it then was informed that because the plane was full, we were advised check our carry on for free- but no refund for the $ we paid. Hot and stuffy. On the plus side, when the movie monitor didn't work, the stewardesses were right on top of the problem and fixed it even though it took some effort.

Eager to exercise her power, the security person did not seem to consider that she slowed down a long line of people waiting to be screened. I should add that I am 73 yrs old grey haired female who has traveled a lot both for pleasure and business during my entire life, often to some difficult places and that I do not argue with or provoke those in power in a situation like this. The yelling and the sending me repeatedly through the scanner, which did not beep once the watch was removed, was beyond anything I had experienced anywhere else. The sending me to the very end of the line seemed outright spiteful. (I did miss the plane connection.)"
