I took off my shoes and that helped me get a little more room to spread my feet/legs out to get comfortable."

I hope my luggage arrives like they say a day later."

I was told that there were no open exit row seats. But on boarding, the entire exit row was empty. It stayed that way through the flight. Super annoying."

Cons: "When we booked we asked for a child's meal and we advised of allergies. However I don't see why we would have to ask as we booked a child's seat and you have to provide the age which she is 4. When onboard from SYD/HKG and HKG/LONDON, NO meal was available for our child except for what everyone else was eating. She is anaphylaxis to shellfish, she was given shrimp!!!!! I am sure if she was given a child's meal she would not have got this. We were then told we have to advise the airline 12 hours before we fly that we want a child's meal. I am sorry but when travelling we should not have to do this and nor have we ever had to do it on any other airline. Poor poor poor!!!!"

Cons: "Though nothing completely egregious, my interaction with crew on the flight were the worst I have ever experienced when traveling. The first was after attempting to go to the bathroom mid-flight. This was an 11 hour flight. I'm not sure whether the captain forgot to turn off the seatbelt sign during the middle of the flight or if he anticipated turbulence, but the seatbelt sign was on for at a minimum, 45 minutes. After waking up I had the urge to go to the bathroom and walked back to try to get there. Once close to the bathroom a flight attending pointed in the other direction and said "sit down and put your seatbelt on." I expressed that I had to go to the bathroom and he again just repeated "go put your seatbelt on." I stood for another few seconds in disbelief that I would really be turned away from using the bathroom in the middle of a flight and during this short time of standing there he again repeated: "go put your seatbelt on." I would like to stress that there was absolutely no turbulence at this time. Whether or not this is protocol and any attendant would have told me the same, the attendant could use lessons in how to properly speak to people by having a better tone AND saying please. Explaining the situation would also be helpful instead of just using your power to command another adult to do something. After returning to my seat, I saw multiple other people also try to get up to go, who received the same fate, so it was obvious he was trying to adhere to the rules, but clearly if the fasten seatbelt sign has been on for over an hour at that point, you should be able to be an adult and put the situation in context; people need to use the bathroom on a long flight. My second poor interaction was at the conclusion of the flight. I was listening to music on my phone and hadn't heard the captain announcement that we should begin to prepare for landing. On ANY other flight I have EVER been on, the crew will come around and verbally ask people politely to put their seat up, return trays to their stored position, and unplug any USB electronics. One of the crew, without asking me first or even making eye contact, came up and unplugged my phone from being plugged in and manually put my seat up to upright position and walked away. This might seem like a simple thing, but you should NEVER touch someone else's property. Further, to place me upright without warning was extremely rude. If this flight had been the only flight I had with Cathay Pacific, I would never fly with this airline again, because it would have seemed to me that your crew lack social skills, are impolite, and may have language barriers. Luckily, my trip was round trip from NY to Bali and as such there were multiple connecting flights, and I had good experiences on all the rest. I really wish I had gotten the name of the 2 individuals I had a poor experience with, as I don't think they will help you in securing future customers."

Pre-takeoff service of water and juice or champagne was only give to one side of the premium cabin, and when I asked if they would complete it for the other side after take-off was told no. I'm used to Cathay taking our orders and being back what we ask for for a premium experience, however on this trip they just brought everything on carts and asked people what they wanted on the spot, offering no suggestions. Overall the service on this CX 889 flight seemed to be severely underpar for what I expect from Cathay"

The crew was not very friendly during the flight (I understand maybe they had a cranky passenger before and it was a long flight but smiling isnt that hard!). Inflight service was inconsistent as one side came down to serve 15minutes after the first side. The headphones looked quite dirty so I used my own. Boarding was quite slow and then takeoff was late but it was nice that the captain explained it."

In my experience 2hrs is minimum time between connecting flights - otherwise good experience."

When, in Manila, I was forced to check-in that piece of luggage, I forgot to move my medication into my backpack which I carried with me on board. In Taipei, I asked the ground crew to retrieve my medication from my check-in carry-on. The team worked diligently and made sure that my medication was handed to me as I was one boarding the plane with the last few. I was delighted by the level of service and the fact that I was able to take my medication before the flight took off. What a difference in attitude between the Manila and Taipei ground crews. Thank you Taipei ground crew!"

Websight would not let me do either so I went to check into my flight earlier then normal only to find out that my only option was middle seat. Tried to change the seat and was given the run around to go to different gates, which I did and the attendant just kept telling me to go to a different gate. Very frustrating and very uncaring and unfriendly attendants. This was a super long flight and very uncomfortable. I will consider another airline when making my next travel booking."

Lauderdale to New York was much more pleasant."

Flight ran out of drinking WATER after the first service. Half of our section (Economy Plus) was skipped for snacks. An unruly child was allowed to scream for almost the entire flight & was running up & down the aisles. NOTHING was said to the parents by staff members. Was absolutely the worst behaving child with who I've had to fly."

I do whatever I can to fly on Australian rather than American airlines, as they are always much better in every regard. But in this case it wasn't feasible, and I found myself on a Delta flight. I'd say the overall experience was somewhere between okay-good. Nothing major to complain about, but nothing to rave about either. The entertainment options were decent. I appreciated the variety of newly released movies. However, I would have liked a greater selection of TV shows, and the availability of more episodes. I also appreciated the availability of internet access, but I don't understand why it has to be quite *so* pricey. Surely they could make a bit more on greater volume if they dropped the price a bit. I didn't purchase access, but I would have if it were 40-50% cheaper. The comfort of the plane seemed the same as any of the alternatives. Boarding and deplaning were as they should be."
Cons: "The service from the crew though was simply ok. They were just friendly enough not to be rude, but no more than that. Virgin Australia and Qantas consistently have much happier crews, who make you feel like a dignified guest, even in economy. The food was average at best, and they served two meals where the Australian airlines would serve three on the same flight. They also offered less in the way of snacks and drink refills. It seemed like they were cutting corners here, which I don't appreciate on a 15 hour flight. Also, they said they "proudly serve Starbucks coffee". After drinking it, I don't think they should be proud of that! Again, overall it was a decent experience. Nothing flashy, but nothing too bad either. If the costs are comparable for your flight, you should certainly choose one of the Australian carriers. You'll get better service from the crew and better food. The one caveat, however, is that Delta has WiFi, whereas at the date of writing this, the Australian carriers do not. While access is exorbitant, if you really need to get some work done on the plane, you might choose Delta for this reason alone."

The crew was excellent and friendly, Boarding was a bit crazy but in the end we all found our seat. My flight attendant was terrific. When Delta was able to fix the changes in Sydney Australia they put my husbands ticket as a standby instead of putting him in an assigned seat and reported that they couldn't fix it that we would have to wait and get to LAX before the changes could be made again. There was a one and a half hour flight delay from LAX to Seattle. From Sydney Australia to LAX entertainment system didn't work the whole entire flight, they were screaming children the entire flight, and Delta had double booked seats on several different people. There were no apologies and no compensation for any of the incidences."

Pros: "First flight I have ever flown that offered free beverages of all kinds. Food wasn't too bad. Entertainment choices were outstanding. Pilot was like a tour guide."
Cons: "Cramped space for 14 hours. Some crew were somewhat grumpy and seemed rushed, even though we had plenty of time."

I would rather pay a couple hundred dollars more to have a quality flight experience."
