Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "Laptop charger (115v) would be appreciated"
Cons: "Eliminate an acceptable two and a half hours delay in take off time due to catering planning issues."
Cons: "Crew could be friendlier."
Pros: "Crew was nice and attentive"
Cons: "We paid $100 per person to choose our seats in advance and then when we boarded we had been bumped to a different location and my wife and I were sitting across the aisle from each other, unable to share a tablet to watch movies. The cabin crew was not helpful at all so we traded seats with another passenger who had also been bumped from his preferred seat. The entertainment system didn't work for an 11 hour flight.. are you kidding. We pressed the call button to see if it was just our inability to sign in but no crew member came. After 15 minutes the call light went off so we pushed it again, but the light was still on an hour later. We asked about it during the meal service and were very rudely dismissed. Long after meal service was finished we asked one more time to see if anything had changed and the crew member brought us a tablet to use that was loaded with movies. I'm not sure why they didn't do that earlier. Then 50 minutes before landing they literally pulled it out of our hands to store it away."
Pros: "I got home"
Cons: "Made the connection (no luggage) as signified in the SMS notice of a delayed departure but they had given preferred seat to stand by. No problem just another 90 minutes after a previous 3 hour delay out of Calgary. Not impressed!"
Pros: "Quick and organized airport and boarding"
Cons: "Old plane uncomfortable seats"
Pros: "The crew wasn't as nice as they usually are"
Cons: "There was no space to put any of your bags and I was only travell8ing with a backpack. The airplane was so tiny"
Cons: "I have flown Air Canada many times, and have never taken off on time. Most flights I have been on, were 30 -60 minutes late. Cabin service is usually minimal, lackadaisical, and indifferent. I would only fly Air Canada again as a last resort"
Pros: "The crew was very nice and friendly. They were very accommodating and genuine."
Cons: "The washrooms should be cleaned during the flight."
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "Inexperienced crew. Had to circle the departure airport for 1.5 hours and then land again due to a mechanical issue. They didn't tell us what was going on exactly. Sat at the gate for another 40 minutes. Finally departed. Everyone on boar missed their connections. I personally missed a whole day of my European vacation due to this error. Stuff happens from time to time but it would have been nice for them to have handled it better."
Cons: "The aircraft was so small there was not enough room for even most standard size carry-ons. The crew were not patient and gave passengers attitude for trying to bring their carry-ons onboard. On the way back from Toronto, we were sitting on the runway for more than one hour waiting for "de-icing". If this is a recurring thing, why not time the arrivals and departures better to avoid making people sit there, disconnected from everything and waiting? Also the screen on my "entertainment center" was broken but thankfully I had my own book to read. Air Canada has not had the most welcoming crew or most up to date fleet in my experience; I fly with them mostly because of their cheap fares. I guess "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch"."
Cons: "I"
Pros: "Knowing that there is not enough head-room for carry-on luggage, I joined to volunteer to check-in my carry-on luggage. Service agent at the counter is very helpful and great service attitude. I asked if they have plastic twistee so I can lock my carry-on luggage before check it in. Unlucky there is none. I hope Air Canada can consider providing this ( I got from Cathy pacific before at check-in luggage counter) since they may help re-assure traveler like me who don't prepare a lock for the hand carry suitcase."
Cons: "1) Flight delay for 1 hour - that is not good 2) Choice of movie are really limited - many are old and very very old movies even though are blockbuster 3) I bought carrot and celery stick; which are wet and in plastic bag => so I cannot avoid making the table wet too! Thought it should be in a simple plastic container => even though I agree to minimal use of plastic for environmental reason. 4) The insufficient headroom for carry-on really slow the boarding time and cause delay in departure. Need better idea to help with this. may be for those who volunteer to check-in their carry on, they get a coupon for priority to board next time?"
Cons: "After my checking-in, I was told I was not allowed boarding without an eTA, which was never informed me before. And I could not get an eTA at that time. Terrible! I am seeking for a compensation from Air Canada. If only you could help."
Cons: "This flight was two and a half hours late. We lost an hour and 45 minutes due to a mechanical problem with our airplane, then lost another 45 minutes due to a storm in Toronto. Air Canada blamed the weather for our late arrival, my missed connection and claimed no responsabilility for the fact that my trip ended up taking more than 24 hours when it was supposed to take about 9 hours. Also, there was the matter of the lost luggage which was a carry on that I accepted to have checked as the Air Canada staff seemed desperate to check our carry ons on a full flight to Toronto from Montreal. I ended up spending the night in the Vancouver airport without access to my luggage."
Pros: "Nice crew- efficient boarding"
Cons: "One bathroom for all of economy. Poor snacks. No chance to get electronic boarding passes"
Pros: "Flight was on time"
Cons: "Cramped seats"
Pros: "Love a direct flight into/out of Budapest! Rouge flights have an app you can use on your device with a small playlist of entertainment options. Otherwise, you're stuck with whatever you brought with you."
Cons: "Wish there was a notice of our flight progress somewhere. I felt embarrassed to ask the flight attendants who had to do calculations on the spot instead of being able to just check it on the app."
Cons: "I reached delhi a day late and missed an important event. See ablove"
Pros: "The people at Air Canada were friendly and clear with what was going on."
Cons: "Flight was delayed even though the plane was at the gate."
Pros: "Boarding was quick, service was quick."
Cons: "Seats were not comfortable, very tight space since plane was so small. I'd never flown international before so when they handed out the immigration forms without any explanation, I was very confused."
Pros: "The snack selection is excellent"
Cons: "No complaints"
Pros: "Flight crew was friendly and helpful."
Cons: "Don't like having to walk outside in the cold snow to board the plane"
Pros: "Staff was great."
Cons: "Being crammed into a tiny seat without any outlets or monitors. Being hit with a ton of extra fees for seat selection and baggage. If you dont pay to select your seat and wait 24 hours before the flight to do so you risk losing your spot on that flight, such BS. Im surprised they didnt charge me a seatbelt usage fee."
Cons: "Had to have a visa for connecting flights. Not worth going through Canada."
Cons: "Same as above. Flight delayed by 45 minutes. No explanation given as to why... no inclement weather or other issues that day."
Pros: "Bumpy ride nice crew Great direct flight"
Pros: "The airport had no lines, security was fast and easy."
Cons: "Air Canada employees are rude and inconsiderate. Terrible experience. When I asked for help I was handed a card to call customer support. I was hung up on and missed my flight. Had to pay for a rental car and hotel and missed a day of work. I'm still stuck in the Fort Lauderdale airport 15 hours my flight departed. Never flying Air Canada again."
Cons: "Flight was delayed. Was supposed to leave 5:15 pm but did leave until 9:30 pm. They could have given us a more accurate time so we could have not gone to the airport so early instead of saying 45 minute delay and then 1 hour and then constantly delaying it to 4 hours. Nothing was offered in compensation."
Cons: "Received my luggage after one day"
Pros: "Friedly staff"
Cons: "I was expecting more from my $300+ upgrade."
Cons: "Air Canada lost my luggage, customer service was very vague and unhelpful, did not get my bag back for almost a week."
Cons: "Flight left 20 min. late and did not so much as get a pretzel with our drink."
Cons: "Although the flight to Canada was fine, the ordeal to try to get back was awful! So apparently Air Canada makes up whatever rules that they see fit but doesn't make you aware of them until too late. In Canada, the "International" terminal is not for every country, but for every country EXCEPT the US...I didn't realize that the "Air Canada English" is its own language. Also, they will resell your seat arbitrarily, without any previous warning and have no problem stranding you in a different country, forcing to pay exorbitant change fees. If you try to straighten the situation AFTER the entire fiasco, the only recourse is a random email. I would not only NOT recommend this airline, but I would stay far, far away from using Air Canada!"
Pros: "I had never flown before the day I flew with Air Canada, and the flight I had with them was an international flight to boot- about 13 hours. I was very comfortable in my seat, and caught a fair amount of sleep on the plane. The food was pretty good for "airplane food" reputation, and Air Canada's in flight entertainment is abundant."
Pros: "flight was smooth and uneventful"
Cons: "none"
Pros: "Empty plane"
Pros: "We had a pretty uneventful flight from Tampa to Toronto using Air Canada. That is a good thing. The airline offers complementary juices and drinks of the nonalcoholic variety. No complaints."
Pros: "Great flight. New and comfortable plane with lots of room. Food was good. Reasonable entertainment was provided with lately released movies. Staff was friendly and accommodating."
Cons: "Internet not free on board. For the price of the ticket on an international flight, internet should be included for free. Also no newspaper available on board."
Pros: "Leg space, arrival on time"
Cons: "Had to pay for food and cheap earbuds"
Pros: "The crew on this flight were very good, lots of water, good at cleanup. I was in a preferred seat behind the exit row--thought I was getting the exit row--but with no one in the middle seat there was room to move."
Cons: "Preferred seats really don't seem to offer much over the standard cattle class seat, and this Airbus 321 does feel like cattle class."
Pros: "Great crew, delicious samosas! Awesome selection of movies"
Cons: "I'm skinny but tall and it is my opinion that these seats are uncomfortably small/narrow The room UNDER the seats is smaller than in other planes as well, so it's tougher to stow your gear"
Cons: "Did not pay attention when serving meal to the people passing by not asking until call them back"
Pros: "The flight from Tel Aviv to Toronto was excellent and the food was great. I'm definitely using Air Canada in the future!"
Pros: "Better food like Emirates and clean like Air France/KLM"
Pros: "Crew was great very friendly and helpful."
Cons: "Better movie and tv show choices would be good for long flight"
Pros: "Individual tv screens & hard-working on-board crew"
Cons: "Check-in desk staff (unhelpful & too happy to announce that the flight was overbooked & that AC was within its rights to do so."
