We book an Air Canada flight but "got Rouged". Lengthy delays and 5 gate changes in a couple of hours. Cabin cramped, very little room in overheads. Food tasted stale. Generally awful except courteous and capable crew. Avoid Rouge like the plague.
Pros: "Flight was on time and clean."
Cons: "They missed by special meal once."
Cons: "WiFi connection and thereby any information and entertainment did not work. Long wait for luggage."
Pros: "Flight was delayed 2.5hr and all they did was give meal vouchers for $10 CAD while we were shut in the airport since it closed around us."
Pros: "Crew was fine."
Cons: "Seats are so narrow you have to huddle to one side to avoid physical contact with large passengers seated next to you."
Pros: "Crew and staff were pleasant"
Cons: "Consistently the longest shortest flight in Canada"
Pros: "The crew was very nice and friendly. They were very accommodating and genuine."
Cons: "The washrooms should be cleaned during the flight."
Pros: ". The food to buy on board was very inexpensive, which was great! The entertainment was very good, and the flight attendants were good too"
Pros: "Passengers were kept well-informed by staff on flight status. Boarding process was efficient. Gate agents and crew were professional and friendly. Appreciated the in-flight entertainment."
Cons: "Seating was cramped and claustrophobic. I'm only 5 feet tall and my legs were stiff after a 90 minute flight. "Snacks" were kind of pathetic - tiny bag of pretzels. The worst part was the crowded gate area at Boston. It made me feel like a cattle holding pen. Since we're told to get there two hours early, it would be nice to have more than a tiny little snack bar with overpriced pre-made sandwiches and salads that have been sitting out for who knows how long. Crappy lukewarm coffee. Starbucks is right outside security, but of course we can't bring liquids through."
Cons: "My problem is when United uses Air Canada the privileges that United gives don't exist and they treat you like anyone else... If I'm gold status with United theb I should be with Air Canada as well"
Pros: "They seemed like a good airline. It was my first time flying with them, and I got upgraded to business class on the very first flight of my trip. What a great first impression! They're quite service oriented, with attendants speaking multiple languages. The in-flight magazine was good but not available on every plane. The food was usually pretty good, and the live map was convenient."
Cons: "All of the flights were late (I had 6 of them on this trip, all thru Air Canada, and not a single one departed on time). All of my layovers were long, except one, which was planned to be about an hour but ended up being less than 30min. That one was a pain: had to go through Canadian customs and then run across the Toronto airport, but thankfully my next flight was still boarding - and ended up running late because they had to de-ice the plane. One of the flights ran late, and as we were reaching the gate a passenger felt the need to yell racist/ignorant comments at a fellow passenger who wouldn't sit down, and then the flight attendant - overall that was a real shame."
Pros: "it was a long flight, not interrupted by too many announcements"
Cons: "boarding was problematic. I paid extra for a seat closer to the front yet had to store carry on in the rear of the plane. when asking the flight personnel for assistance regarding the matter, he promptly gave me a glare and turned away totally ignoring me. In waiting until everyone had exited the plane before being able to retrieve my bag, it completely defeated the purpose of the extra expenditure. perhaps boarding the rear of the plane first. regardless, my biggest concern was I felt like the flight attendant should have responded but elected to snub me. amazingly I lived to talk about it :-)"
Pros: "0"
Cons: "Because of the delayed flight out of Lisbon I missed this flight and was rerouted to Vancouver. I had to go through customs and re enter the airport going through security to board the Vancouver fligh. Slept in a hotel for four hours, paid for by Air Canada, went back to the airport through security again and flew to Portland."
Cons: "Threat , people stoll my staff"
Pros: "the pilot did a great job. the crew was nice."
Cons: "It was interesting to me that the plane used for a 4 hour flight (this one) was smaller than a plane used for a 1hr flight. I was uncomfortable the entire time. this was a redeye flight, departing at midnight. the cabin lights stayed on for the first hour making it impossible to dose off. we were given a 'snack' of a disgusting chicken wrap slathered in mayo. it was inedible. oh, and accompanied by a large kitkat bar. I mean. Who came up with this combo? there were no screens, no in flight entertainment unless you wanted to run down your phone battery or rent an ipad for $10. I was truly disappointed."
Cons: "1, no food 2, pay for the luggage 3, very small leg room 4, too low temperature in the cabin and no blanket"
Pros: "We arrived safely."
Cons: "Most uncomfortable plane ride I've ever taken. No food offered at all - everything was by purchase only. No entertainment system at all. Had to stop halfway to refuel."
Cons: "Flight was delayed one hour ."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "No food or entertainmet."
Pros: "Nice selection of media. 767-300 is comfortable."
Cons: "Late boarding due to plane's turnaround issues. Unusually long delays at baggage claim...may have been lack of coordination on part of the airport."
Pros: "Good breakfast."
Cons: "Cabin was cool"
Cons: "TO - Pearson AIRPORT horrid CUSTOMS layout- all automation with little assistance and little signage what to do... when 300+ people need it simultaneously it is a mess. NO warnings if/when to collect luggage or not- so waste time at baggage carosel when it is not coming out between flights. Too few Attendants sending connections on wild walk through long concourses to undefined line ups. Customs surely...not humored at all. Why the second time 45 mins cattle line up for security pass through before customs?? IN TRANSIT STILL??!! Not having proper crew ready to take over flight when delays make first crew sign off...waited on plane with no service for 1.5 hrs no water or food - should have disembarked to terminal?? Babies kids had 5 hrs onboard with no distractions or food. YIKES!! In the AIRPORT lack of AIR Canada personnel attending gateways! EMPTY until 20 mins before flights. Customer Service Desks somewhat helpful...could do more form their stations."
Pros: "I think I got great fair, so thanks for that! getting a boarding pass was easy....it was nice experience."
Cons: "I know it is a short flight....but how much does it cost to offer a snack and drink....$4/5 may be. we start quite early from home....flight may be just 1 and half hour but total journey for us takes more than 4 hours."
Pros: "I really enjoyed the number of in-flight entertainment options."
Cons: "There was an upset child that could not be calmed down."
Pros: "The guy who gave me the boarding pass was very nice and helpful"
Pros: "Great crew and on schedule."
Cons: "One of the better flights I have taken no complaints."
Cons: "Flight was late so I missed my connection. Then my luggage was delayed by five hours behind me. Generally poor service."
Pros: "That there was no delays or anything, at any point, very easy."
Cons: "N/A"
Pros: "The 767 can be a nice plane when you don't try to cram almost 300 outdated seats onto it."
Cons: "Purchasing airline tickets is about the only thing I know of where the customer is not told what he is buying. This plane had no entertainment system and the bare minimum in legroom. I expect better from Air Canada. I will not book a long flight on Rouge - or Air Canada again. I am sick of the constant disappointment."
Pros: "The crew were effective and efficient. We boarded promptly and departed on time. They were polite and friendly."
Pros: "Easy flight to DC."
Cons: "First time at Pearson Airport needed some help finding my way around the airport"
Pros: "The flight itself was fine, free WiFi on board, movies to watch, stewards and stewardesses on board were very kind and attentive."
Cons: "I was originally flying WestJet, and the 7:05 AM flight I booked was cancelled. I hopped online and booked the 8:10 AM flight via Air Canada back to Boston. First, the flight was oversold, so only AFTER I was able to check my bag did I learn that I was flying stand-by. Completely nerve wracking. If I had known in advance I would have booked with another airline. I was able to get on the flight thanks to some volunteers who gave up their seats on the 8:10 AM flight for the next flight out (10:10 AM) in return for some monetary compensation. I arrived in Boston, and after waiting for 45 minutes, I learned my bag was put on the 10:10 AM flight rather than the 10:10 AM flight, but only after dealing with a snappy and disrespectful check-in attendant that seemed to not believe me that my bags indeed did not arrive. The office for baggage services for Air Canada was vacant and locked next to the carousel. Myself and a couple of other travelers, upon getting to the check-in counter and explaining the situation mistakenly lumped us all together and said "okay so you're all traveling together and your bags need to go the same place". Me: "No, that's incorrect, we are not related or traveling together, we just all have the same issue--none of our bags have arrived". Other Air Canada representative, who up to this point had not been involved in the exchange: "She didn't ask you if you were related, she asked you if your bags were lost" and then proceeded to roll her eyes and walk away from the counter. I suppose she misinterpreted my concern for rudeness and felt the need to put me in my place. Granted, my early morning flight cancellation and the stress associated with flying standby had nothing to do with them, but the attitude I was given as a concerned traveler whose bag was potentially lost was completely unwarranted. Compounded with the frustration of the entire morning I cannot describe how infuriating this exchange added up to being. I was told my bag would be delivered to my home by 4 PM that day. No bag. Got a phone call at 7 PM - they'd be there in the next hour. 10:00 PM and going to bed: No bag. I gave up and prepared to make a claim in the morning. 8:30 AM Sunday morning - my bag is sitting on my front porch wrapped in a trash bag. What a fiasco."
Pros: "The staff at boarding and flight crew very friendly, attentive and efficient. Good fare for return ticket."
Cons: "Food had no taste or imagination."
Pros: "on time, boarded quickly"
Pros: "The crew was great, the flight was fast, the plane was very comfortable. Other than the time delay, the flight was great."
Cons: "The flight was delayed over thirty minutes, which was very inconvenient going through customs with a connecting flight."
Pros: "Seating in a double rather than triple layout."
Cons: "Delay of almost an hour on the runway because of a mechanical problem, after being asked to turn off cell phones and so we couldn't notify those meeting us. Our flight arrival did not appear on the board at Pearson , thus complicating our communication with those meeting us. Baggage was slow being unloaded. Will seriously consider flying to Hamilton with West Jet next time we return from Halifax."
Pros: "It was short."
Cons: "The gate area was horribly crowded, extremely chaotic and hot."
Cons: "Engine noise unbearably loud French safety demonstration Restrictions around wearing headphones"
Pros: "Upgraded unexpectedly"
Cons: "The security check took so long. We made it last minute even thought we were in the airport more than 1.5 hours before the flight (as recommended)!!"
Pros: "Air Canada front desk people were wonderful and helpful."
Pros: "I thought the crew was friendly."
Cons: "The seats were incredibly small and uncomfortable. No snacks were offered."
Pros: "Good flight"
Cons: "Food choices"
Pros: "Efficient, vigilant and helpful crew"
Pros: "The flight attendants were great! The in-flight entertainment was fine."
Cons: "The seats and the good were unpleasant. And one of the other parssengers kept opening his window and letting in the sun, despite the fact that it was an overnight flight; the attendants did not tell him to stop."
Pros: "Good entertainment and descent food"
Cons: "they changed our time flight so now I'm stuck in LA for the night because I missed my connecting flight. When I tried to resolve these with two different attendants, they were so rude and arrogant, specially Sue from Vancouver. Upon arrival to LA, our bag was roughed handled. Had to make a claim."
Pros: "Helpful friendly staff. flight on time."
Cons: "I booked with Airmiles and only had 1 flight time to choose from. Then when I changed my flight time I had to pay double what it would normally have cost me had I booked and paid for my flight instead of using Airmiles. Why are there not more flight times to choose from in the first place when booking through Airmiles?"
Pros: "There were some pretty recent movies and some older ones that I remember watching when I was younger. Both options were good."
Cons: "Despite there being both new and older movies, there seemed to be a limited number of movies and shows. I feel like there could have been more, but it might be just me."
Pros: "I liked the vegetarian meals on my flight from Tokyo to Toronto, however the meal from Toronto to Tokyo was horrible"
Cons: "The limited movies and tv selections"
