The aircraft was extremely small and a lot of people couldn’t put their luggage in the luggage bins. The crew members barely helped and were doing their jobs so quickly to get things going instead of making sure if clients were pleased as well. The business class section all empty but all the others stayed in economy class all clumped up together.
Airlines should stop being forced to enforce immigration laws. They are not properly trained to do so.
Person behind me was kicking me during flight. Breakfast was terrible. Need fresher croissants. Dinner good. Bread terrible. Stale. Boarding extremely slow.
They cancelled my flight and had nothing else available at the time I needed to fly, so I had to book with another airline that was $200 more for the
Airplane arrived late at the gate. Staff was not prepared to board a passenger with disabilities. Boarding was long. Crew member treated without respect a passenger that was worried about missing a connection. It took longer than expected ro get a gate at the airport.
Flight delayed by four hours
Small seats means other passengers thoughtlessly take up your space. At least it’s a short flight.
Other passengers continue to be the hardest part of flying now.
Cons: "More leg room in economy class seating. Very little recline of seats. It is torture flying on a Boeing 777 for 8 hours in economy."
Pros: "The crew was ok, very uncomfortable seat, I had an isle seat and everyone bumped into my shoulder. I never had to pay for checked baggage in a transatlantic flight, it’s not my first time flying. I was also asked to check my carry on, to what I declined for personal reasons."
Cons: "One of my checked baggage was lost."
Pros: "Did not board because you screwed up my reservation"
Cons: "Not screwing up my reservation!"
Cons: "The flight was operated by Air Canada, who habitually assume either that the people in the final row have no hand luggage or simply suffer from a severe lack of operational storage capacity. Overhead bins full of spare plastic cups. As far as the crew are concerned, no problem, because you can just push your way three or four rows forward while everyone else is boarding and then take someone else's overhead space. When will Air Canada learn how to run an airline?"
Pros: "Confort for a airbus"
Cons: "The two passengers seats whit me are drugs they laught always impossible to sleep for a flight on the night and the toilets had a lot of paper on the floor try to check the passenger whit the legalisation of the cannabis in Canada and all the fly whit China airlines are good chinease people have good education"
Pros: "The passengers, the Brussels airport retail area, 1 of the flight attendants who was polite and welcoming, and the entertainment selections. Finally being connected to Swiss staff."
Cons: "The crew was not very welcoming and was borderline rude when I asked any sort of question such as why I was not allowed to wear my headphones prior to take off. I was patient in not wearing them, but could not relaxing into the trip for the 40+ minutes we remained on the ground mostly not moving. I was tired when boarding and fumbled with my documents and was very curtly told to just hand them over. Another time I accidentally mistook headphones the stewardess was handing out for something else. I took a pair and then immediately gave them back with an apology that I didn't realise what they were, but thanked her anyway. This was met with a scowl and a bit of opposition. There was one stewardess that was very nice and accommodating out of the entire crew. On top of this the toilet seat on the plane was broken, so it fell on you when you were trying to go to the bathroom, and the soap dispenser was broken. I didn't dare mention these things to the flight crew though. The plane was late taking off from Montreal, and so was late landing in Brussels. No effort was made to provide connections assistance, or provide directions on where to go to rebook our missed connections. I and all others traveling to Zurich spent the entire morning trying to find anyone from Air Canada to help us rebook our flights. We literally were going from desk to desk between two terminals, and consulting each other as we went to limit the amount of leg work we all had to do. We all had to finally leave the terminal area and go to Swissport and stand in a long slow line. By that time any afternoon flight was already overbooked. So I and a group of other passengers were booked for an evening flight which forced me to book a hotel in Zurich because I couldn't get to where I needed to be that evening. After being rebook, I still tried to get on an earlier flight by going directly to the gate. It was confirmed that there was some extra space available, but they would not switch me to the earlier flight because I had a checked bag that I could not separate me from. Ultimately my bag was lost which made me have to stay awake and in the Zurich airport even longer after I finally arrived going from one lost baggage representative to another, and then waiting in another line to finally fill out paperwork because my bag had never been scanned in Brussels. The Zurich representatives were very polite, helpful, and efficient compared to anyone I encountered in Montreal, or Brussels. I was without my bag for 3.5 days of what was supposed to be a 10 day trip. My trip was reduced to 9 days because I spent an entire day in the Brussels airport and then had to spend the night in Zurich. I arrived in Zurich on Saturday night, and received my bag on Tuesday afternoon. All in all it was not a good experience until I got to Switzerland."
Pros: "The crew was amazing - so friendly and attentive to everyone on such a long flight."
Cons: "The seats were really tight for a 13+ hour flight. The meals were also not great compared to other airlines flying internationally."
Pros: "End of a long ordeal... I slept the entire flight"
Cons: "Our flight from Toronto to Houston was cancelled. The staff at the arrival counter was very slow and rude. We wanted to leave by the United flight which was leaving in an hour or so but the supervisor was not willing to do anything. We ordered Asian vegetarian food and it was horrible. Never again Air Canada."
Pros: "Many airlines have code share flights but it is better to buy ticket directly from the original airline as they keep on ignoring the code share flight bookings"
Cons: "Till last moment we were kept hanging if we will board or not as no seat number was allocated. I believe it was as we were from the code share airline not the real one"
Pros: "Nice friendly crew"
Cons: "Limited entertainment; no wifi"
Cons: "Flight was cancelled due to weather where the arriving plane was coming from. Apparently no other planes or crew were available to fill in. Interestingly, my daughter in Minneapolis knew before we did that our flight was cancelled. Poor communication. My son who was traveling with me was able to get help from Fatima on the "white phone". She got us to Winnipeg on a midnight flight and we then booked a $1400 Delta flight to Minneapolis from there. We needed to be there by 10 am to attend the legal adoption ceremony of my daughter's infant son. It was very close but we made it. Sorry to say but flying is no longer a pleasurable, exciting experience. Janet Davis"
Cons: "Noisy misbehaved child passenger."
Cons: "I did not fly to Montreal and I did not catch flight to Barcelona I am fling again tonight Toronto - Barcelona direct"
Pros: "I made the connection. I got to London on time,so did my luggage! The people with Air Canada are GREAT."
Cons: "I flew Air Canada the whole way. I checked in HOURS ahead of time. The first leg was delayed, but I made the second connection only to find that we had been "off loaded" which meant that even though we were on all the correct flights, we couldn't sit together anymore. We were put on the flight and all worked out, but I was not pleased!"
Pros: "The seating and entertainment system."
Cons: "Cups were very small."
Cons: "would've been better with free wifi"
Pros: "Check-in was smooth Air Canada were helpful as am travel with special needs"
Cons: "Nothing for now."
Cons: "Airline oversold seats for my son's flight -- even though I bought my ticket back in April for a flight in November. This is absolutely ridiculous."
Pros: "Everything came on time. Staff was professional during a difficult situation"
Cons: "Air Canada seems to lack organization or any coordinated effort through out the organization. They have a fully booked flight and instead of making people with hard case luggage check them they crowd them in on the same flight where there are delays trying to get peoples luggage to fit into the bins. Also through the 4 Air Canada flights flight attends were constantly running down the aisle and hitting customers shoulders and not apologizing. it was also disruptive when people were trying to sleep (these were the 3 flights going to hawaii through calgary and vancouver and then back through vancouver. Probably will not fly with Air Canada again till corporate starts considering clients."
Pros: "Excellent service throughout the flight"
Pros: "Friendly staff. Good entertainment (TV, movies, etc). Good, plentiful food and drink."
Pros: "The crew was especially friendly and helpful."
Pros: "Flight attendants were attentive and friendly."
Cons: "It was very hot on the plane."
Pros: "TV on back of seat. Free movies. Okay food"
Cons: "I had to wait 2 hours for my bags"
Pros: "Reliable. Easy to board. On time!"
Pros: "I flew in and out of Montreal to see if it was better than Newark or Philadelphia from upstate NY. It was all right. The food on Air Canada is not good AT ALL. The crew were very nice and had a good sense of humor. They were the best part. And at least I got an aisle seat--in the very last row of the huge plane. There must have been 500 people on board, and it was full to the gills."
Pros: "Besides a french men close to us that doesnt know what is a deodorent , everything was fine for the travel : ontime, friendly staff, no problem at all. Always recommend air canada for its quality standard. Complimentary drinks ok"
Cons: "Pay-to-eat only, no little crackers like before , come on!"
Cons: "It was cancelled."
Pros: "crew was attentive."
Cons: "(The mini sandwiches were a little gross.) and I would've liked to have been able to dim the brightness of the screen more, especially when people were sleeping."
Pros: "I honestly can't think of anything I liked, other than the plane arriving and leaving on time."
Cons: "The in flight entertainment is a joke, it's a 14 hour flight so why are there only 3 episodes of any tv show? The food was inedible, and beverages were limited to 3 choices coffee, water or juice. I was trying to sleep on the plane but every time a flight attendant would walk past me they would run into me (and I was very much within my seat) and wake me up. They also woke me up to ask if I wanted food twice. The seats were so uncomfortable. I'm an able bodied 20 something and if I am in this much physical pain from flying I can't imagine what an elderly person must feel like after flying Air Canada. The pillow that was provided gave me no comfort what so ever, it wasn't think enough to even offer some back support."
Pros: "Flight attendant's were friendly amid the circumstances."
Cons: "Our first flight was cancelled 15 minutes before scheduled take-off. upon being bumped to another flight two hours later, that flight was delayed two hours after an issue during take-off. We remained on the plane while mechanic/engineering staff rectified the problem. We booked a flight to save time on driving. We would have arrived earlier had we drove. I understand things happen, but the airline eneds to take responsibility and show some good customer service. Aside from the pilot, no apology given, no reimbursement offered. Disappinting. Air Canada is now a last-resort option for a frequent flyer like myself."
Pros: "Logan checking with own security checkpoint Boston to Toronto tv great Staff professional"
Pros: "Always seems to happen with some leg of an Air Canada flight....and they couldn't find my luggage, so delayed my boarding at Customs, too."
Pros: "Billy Bishop airport is awesome!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed and crew didn't accommodate a rebooking despite availability .. Although original flight did board soon after."
Cons: "The fact that because I was late for my flight, my reservation was cancelled. I was not given the opportunity to change my flight at all, I just lost out on the return portion of my travel. I would have been willing to pay a fee to change my return, but not given the opportunity. Had I booked directly with the airline, they would have had no problem making a change. Buyer beware!!! If you don't book directly with an airline, you may suffer the same fate as me! This was an almost $1,300 dollar learning experience. Do not use third party online booking agents! You do not have the same protections as dealing with the airlines directly."
Pros: "Left on time"
Cons: "Didn't pick up dinner trays, when they passed out breakfast, one lady didn't bother to hand out the napkin or the bottle of water to people, while the lady going down the other aisle did. Greasy pice of cake and no napkin, and a red eye flight and no water? I saw them on the cart, I guess it was just too much work to hand them out!!!"
Pros: "The wonderful employees at Hamilton's desk."
Cons: "I do and have been in the customer service field for well over 25yrs and the service from the desk reps (EXCEPT from the ladies when leaving Hamilton, Bermuda), flight attendant were lack luster to say the least...the energy and behavior was professional but no enthusiasm from the employees. Almost everyone's personality seemed like a flat lined and when I asked if I can have a whole can of ginger ale, the response was as if I asked to commit a crime. That was on way to Hamilton so I did same thing again on way back to see if I'd get same response and ironically, I did get same type of response as if I was doing or asking something wrong. However, the Air Canada employees in Bermuda at the counter were beyond wonderful, enthusiastic and great energy."
