Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Flight was on time and clean."
Cons: "They missed by special meal once."
Cons: "Too many pasengers had carryons. Lots of confusion on the plane for storage"
Pros: "Crew was great, there was nobody sitting beside me so that was a big bonus. Smooth flight and the wine was pretty good."
Pros: "Crew was responsive"
Cons: "Late departure, sitting on the tarmack for hours, most uncomfortable seats"
Pros: "It arrived on time."
Cons: "The temperature in the cabin was way too cold. People we wearing their jackets and when I mentioned it to the cabin crew member she said a few other people would have to make a similar comment before she could request turning the temperature up. There was also a glitch in the system so that the reading lights for each seat could only be operated by the seat directly in front. The food was very uninspiring and poorly presented. The tea and coffee were awful!!!!!! The choice of movies, etc was very limited. Thank goodness it was a night flight and not too long!"
Pros: "on time"
Pros: "good food and support for wheelchair but have to wait longer then expected"
Cons: "my beg missing and take 3 hr at airport just to find out that i am not getting my beg and its 4 days now no reply or update from anyone....."
Cons: "Comfortable and good seats"
Pros: "Friendly crew. Coach seats have okay room compared to some other carriers."
Cons: "At least from my experience, Air Canada is late half the time. This last leg was 6 hours late. No check-in availability notification on the second leg, and I got the flight delay notification after I landed (6 hours later)! Pretty useless. Everything is nickle and dimed with no included food except for the tiny snack thing on a 6 hour flight. It's pretty difficult to get their app to work for entertainment."
Pros: "Getting off."
Cons: "I had a seat with a drip, probably condensation, that feel on my head and face throughout the flight. At one point during takeoff it was a steady stream of water. I sat with a napkin perched on my head and would mop up the water between events. That was a first! And with a long 14 hour flight, not welcomed."
Pros: "The $20 food voucher that was quickly offered shortly after the delay was announced."
Cons: "Subsequent announcements were confusing because notices were inconsistent."
Cons: "Once I landed at my final destination, luggage was delayed. Did not receive until several hours later."
Pros: "Actually, everything was perfect."
Cons: "I don't have any complaints at all. Except a ticket agent who tried 2 give me hard time, fortunately I handled the issue. After all, everything was well done."
Pros: "Clean and friendly"
Pros: "N time"
Cons: "Food. Chicken wrap was just okay"
Pros: "Comfortable econom."
Cons: "Too many announcements"
Cons: "Crew didn't respond when I pressed call button."
Pros: "Business class seats and the overall service"
Cons: "Flight was late and the movie selection in English is pretty old."
Cons: "I was on 4 Air Canada planes none of them were clean; the seats are not cleaned after use. The staff are pretty rude. The food was terrible."
Cons: "Approx 2 weeks after booking, my flight was cancelled and rescheduled with a 6 hour layover in Newark. I did not fly to Toronto. I contacted Air Canada and was rescheduled again but arriving hours later than originally scheduled. I flew to Newark and connected to Halifax, my destination."
Pros: "Video screen in seat back so I could watch movies"
Cons: "I forced to check my carry on bag despite the fact that there was room in overhead compartments. Consequently my bag was damaged when loaded onto plane, or when unloaded onto baggage carousel. Disorganized loading of passengers onto plane."
Pros: "Of the five planes we were on, all but one had comfortable seating (I'm 6'1" tall)"
Cons: "The lady helping us through the Toronto airport between flights made my wife cry. We had to stop to go to the restroom on the way to our gate, and the lady complained when I waited to go in after my wife came out. I told her I was going to do that, but she was apparently pre-occupied when I told her, because she was looking right at me when I said it. I then told her that I had let her know that was my plan, but she denied it, then told my wife she was just one of a hundred people. This left my wife in tears. This was a stain on an otherwise good flying experience, but it' tarnished the whole."
Pros: "The flight attendant helped me find my gate which wad nice seeing I didn't have a long layover."
Cons: "There was no entertainment, flight was delayed, in the back row so couldn't recline seat, sat right next to bathroom, and the only attendant was busy all it took a long time to get her attention."
Cons: "After a late flight from Halifax, found out that we had been bumped off our scheduled flight to Kingston. The next flight was more than three hours later - and this despite looking at our aircraft for another 10 minutes before it left the gate. We were told that the gate had been closed despite six of us on the same connection. When we asked about supper, we were given a $10 coupon - had some difficulty finding a place for dinner under $10 at Pearson."
Pros: "Excellent flight from boarding to arrival. The flight crew performed beyond expectation. There were obvious obstacles in their way when performing their duties and customer service. What stood out as stellar was their patience in helping people where english was not their first language. When serving beverages to these passengers the flight attendants would ask what beverage they prefered. Their answers were inaudible and confusing. Attendants displayed container beverage and when it was still unable to understand their poor answers they did not give up. Finally it was understood they would like hot tea, and i noticed they performmed beyond expectation. These asian passengers would clogg the isles for attendants by going to the washroom and visiting other friends on this flight creating serving obstacles. Frankly, I prayed for the attendants when they were climbing over seated passengers and appeared orientationally lost from their seats on this flight. You would think it was their first flight; but then the flight attendant would appear, and in classic manner would ask - Can I help you? I am comforted by the displayed patience, ability to take punishment from disfunctional riders who failed to notice how other passengers behaved and how professionally the crew operated from beginning to end. I always prefer to fly with Air Canada. Thank you!"
Cons: "Jamming the middle seats of the flight with late arriving asian passengers who would have been better off seated together."
Pros: "The plane was nice."
Cons: "The food and service and all the delays. One was cancelled and the hotel that the put us up in the food was horrible. They offered us no compensation."
Pros: "The boarding was efficient and had no trouble with baggage. Upgraded to business class and had very nice crew members serve us."
Cons: "The entertainment was on an iPad, the options for food was super limited, the seating was uncomfortable and this was all after upgrading and spending more money on the flight. Very disappointing"
Pros: "The app with the movies and tv shows. The non stop flight to Canada. The electronic check in option at the Ontario Airport. The email I received reminding me about the flight The small aircraft on the way from Orlando to Canada The size of the restroom on the plane back from Ontario to Canada. I am pregnant so that extra room to stretch is great. The fast service when retrieving my luggage."
Cons: "My flight back was delayed 2 hours. There were screaming kids on the plane. The flight status on the main screen on the airport reflected a different time than the app."
Pros: "Flight attendant SYLVIA saved the day and had our bags brought into The plane. They had snatched our bags away so quickly my wife did not take her diabetes meds out of her bag. Sylvia was very concerned and was able to go above and beyond to solve our problem."
Cons: "The Gate Agent was very rude and unprofessional."
Pros: "The 767 can be a nice plane when you don't try to cram almost 300 outdated seats onto it."
Cons: "Purchasing airline tickets is about the only thing I know of where the customer is not told what he is buying. This plane had no entertainment system and the bare minimum in legroom. I expect better from Air Canada. I will not book a long flight on Rouge - or Air Canada again. I am sick of the constant disappointment."
Pros: "The staff at boarding and flight crew very friendly, attentive and efficient. Good fare for return ticket."
Cons: "Food had no taste or imagination."
Pros: "Excellent crew service."
Cons: "inadequate leg room in economy"
Cons: "Need a bigger seat on a long flight and more leg room."
Pros: "Entertainment was excellent. Water was offered."
Cons: "Service was desultory at best. Eg. Had to pass by crew on East to bathroom and they barely moved out of the way and continued their chitchat as if I didn't exist."
Cons: "The flight was a codeshare with Air Canada. It was delayed by 2.5 hours which I later found out is typical for this flight and that it rately leaves Glasgow on time. So I missed my early afternoon connecting flight to Detroit. Air Canada could not get me out until the next evening and was quite rude. They did not put me up in a hotel or give me food vouchers until I complained. When I complained, they were able to get me on a flight the next morning rather than the next evening. The food was mediocre at best."
Cons: "Can't believe not even pretzels"
Cons: "I never received an e-mail to check in, and by the time I remembered (morning of), this resulted in me not having a seat assigned on my ticket. This caused a lot of needless stress, though to Air Canada's credit, they got all those waiting for a seat assignment on board. On my return trip, I did receive an e-mail - luckily, as the flight was overbooked again."
Pros: "We left and arrived on time. Crew was courteous. Streaming service was surprisingly good!"
Cons: "Food was not good, and there was little food and drink service. Having to pay for an emergency exit seat."
Cons: "The entertainment was non-existent unless you had an Apple device or paid the $10 to rent one for an hour or so. Really disappointing considering other Air Canada flights."
Pros: "flight was smooth and on time."
Cons: "Maple Leaf Lounge at Pearson airport was shabby. We expected a bit more than soup and gherkins, but that's all that was available, except for some dry nacho chips. No electrical outlets. Indifferent staff. Shame on Air Canada! We have visited airport lounges all over the world and this was by far the worst!"
Pros: "Nice airplane and very friendly staff once finally on board."
Cons: "Please read previous comments (copied and pasted below) I should never have been sold the flight. The connecting time was too short - even under normal circumstances without delay I was told that I had a solid chance of missing the flight. Furthermore, once I finally made it into Montreal for my connecting flight, no one did anything to expedite my experience. They tried to get me to my final destination 24 hours after I was supposed to be there - they had a packet of accommodations for hotel and flight already prepped (mind you, I had only missing my flight by 10 minutes so clearly my seat was sold to someone else), and they didn't want to accommodate me in any other way. Explaining that I was meeting a friend who had taken another flight, I was told that the problem was not his and there was nothing I could do. Even though I found flights on Kayak and on Air Canada site for an alternate flight getting me out to Europe a few hours later, I was told "no can do." I asked him to speak to a manager and suddenly he was on the phone and (successfully) accomodating me. BUT. The flight was a connecting flight (connection in Rome to final destination Barcelona) - and he hadn't booked me the Rome to Barcelona portion. i was told - "go see the stand in Rome and they will have your ticket ready to go." They didn't have anything on their record but did tell me that this flight should not have been booked for me without having a ticket for my final destination. This was a hellish experience and I will be writing reviews and contacting Air Canada further to discuss this whole process."
Pros: "Sometimes, Air Canada was a help in rebooking."
Cons: "Sometimes, Air Canada WASN'T any help in rescheduling! Can't get ANY help on-line, and finally made a two hour long distance call from Istanbul to the Canadian "Help Desk," with most of that time on "hold." (Similar to my time on "hold" when making other calls there!) London Heathrow Air Canada service desk was a GREAT HELP, however - once we got there."
Pros: "Everything was basically on time."
Cons: "Air canada should still give snacks like west jet."
Pros: "Good service, helpful flight attendants."
Cons: "Food was meager and not delicious. Need to download Air Canada app for movies caused some turmoil before the flight."
Pros: "entertainment system was very good. Crew were fine. The flight itself was fine as well, no issues with weather, etc so it was just long."
Cons: "The boarding at Rome was chaotic. They give you a "zone" assignment but they never used it. People were just milling around trying to figure it out. Weird."
Pros: "Seats were wide and very comfortable"
Cons: "The departure postponed several times. The comfort in those parts of Toronto and Dulles airport which us Canada express is absent at all. There are no even seats enough for all passengers."
Pros: "The plane didn't crash."
Cons: "We were dehydrated and the flight attendants were stingy with WATER."
Pros: "That we arrived on time"
Cons: "The food was terrible, the service was grumpy, and one of the carts hit my shoe so hard that it tore it."
