Cons: "The connecting flight from Atlanta to NY was rescheduled for an hour and fifteen minutes later, boarding for the delayed flight started late, closed doors were another 20 minutes late, spend another hour or so waiting for confirmations, during which no AC is on because of a malfunction on the plane with the electricity unit. Due to rough air conditions, no in-flight service, or very limited one - and all of those are fine by me, and not the airlines' fault at all. But then, during all these unexpected conditions, I can't even use the in flight entertainment system as i use Bluetooth earphones, and to get earphones I have to buy them for 2$. To earn excellent service, inspite of all the delays, AC malfunction and unpleasantness all you had to do was give those 2$ earphones for free. I have another flight with SkyTeam coming up and I do hope it won't be as unpleasant as it is a much longer flight."

Delta's economy seats are so tiny that even a small person like myself finds it agonizing to ride in them for a moderate-length flight. We need aggressive regulation of our airlines to prevent the unconscionable and humiliating way they treat economy passengers. It's not safe, healthy or humane to ask human beings to sit for hours in tiny spaces with very little air (on top of everything else, the plane was mercilessly hot the whole time). Next time I will choose a European carrier--even the discount Euro carriers are better than any US airline."

Even the pilot was very ethusiastic over the intercom before the flight. He made jokes and everyone laughed. In fact, it was the most I've ever heard from a pilot on any flight in my life. I would rate this the best flight I've ever had. Thanks, Delta!"

Cons: "Everything that could have gone wrong with my flights, went wrong. On my way from LA to Raleigh (through Atlanta), I was affected by the weather conditions at Atlanta. I understand that the weather is beyond Delta's scope of control, but customer service is not. I had to wait in line at LAX for 8 hours to even get information on what had happened, and what solutions were available. The customer service call center was collapsed, and at the airport counters at one point there was ONLY ONE DELTA REPRESENTATIVE serving a line of more than 100 upset customers. This IS Delta's fault, and it is unacceptable. This definitely was under Delta's control, but in order to save a few dollars in overtime for emergency staff Delta was willing to let its customers make terribly long lines, miss their flights, their connections and consequently their commitments. It is disappointing to observe how Delta believes that a few dollars saved on extra staff and emergency measures can offset the irreparable long term damage to its business due to upset customers. My way back from Raleigh to Los Angeles was also a disaster. Without any type of explanation and nothing more than an email announcing the change, the nonstop flight I bought was replaced by a 1-stop flight with connection in Atlanta. This was NOT THE PRODUCT I PURCHASED. There is a reason I paid a premium for a nonstop flight, and Delta did not hesitate in providing me with a less valuable product without any explanation or refund. Delta prioritizes its operational metrics - an obsession to fill and overbook its capacity - over its customers' experience, one again under the foolish belief that short term savings in any way offset the long term damage of disappointed and alienated customers. I will NEVER FLY DELTA AGAIN. I will do whatever I can to transmit my experience to everyone I know. At a time where major airline carriers are in the spotlight due to abusive practices (i.e. the United passenger case), I still find hope in knowing that alternatives such as Southwest still put their customers first, over the ethereal benefits that a few-dollar savings in operational expenses can provide."

When -- and ONLY when -- we pointed out that we'd actually booked directly through Condor and Kayak had only served as the intermediary, they gave us a direct line to call. Then their agent said "You can't always trust the people at the desk, you know." Oh, really? If I can't trust your own agents, who can I trust, exactly? It turned out that we had an initial flight to Minneapolis, which was NOWHERE on the itinerary, on Sun Country. The Sun Country folks, thankfully, were enormously helpful and we made our flight with 2 minutes to spare. But it doesn't end there. We'd paid for business class all the way, but only got it on the interseas portions of our flights. And they lost our luggage on the way home, to boot. Take home lesson? NEVER FLY WITH CONDOR. I'll walk to Europe before ever booking with them again. And I'll make sure that all my friends and colleagues, all of whom travel extensively, know of our experience."

Pros: "I have a servere hearing problem and was concerned (since we were late leaving Zurich for my changeover in Frankfurt), that I would be late because I can't hear any loudspeaker systems (either on planes or in airports). I felt that I could get easily lost between flights and not have time to get to the Frankfurt/Denver flight. I told this to the person at the gate in Zurich, and he immediately arranged for someone to meet me in Frankfurt and take me there. I was met by Maika in Frankfurt and she was just excellent--personable and efficient and really helpful. I'm sorry I couldn't remember the name of the person at the gate in Zurich. He was also great. I wouldn't have done this if I had had more time, but this really made my day (and my flight!) ! Thank you!"

Flight was efficient, left and arrived early. Good selection of entertainment, reasonable amount of seating space even though the flight was full. Only blemish was at check in, where the agent demanded to see our proof of vaccination in physical form (my wife didn't have hers). This was shocking because we had uploaded the documents for the round trip through the AC website, and received confirmation from AC. Eventually she settled for an ArriveCan receipt. Thankfully I had completed that process. Why do we need to submit proof of vaccination forms to AC if the agents are not able to use that information?

The two queues were not labeled, there was much line-switching, and the passport-check lines blocked the terminal for travelers for other flights... The incoming plane was late; we wondered why this passport check could not have proceeded while we waited instead of delaying our boarding once our plane arrived."

Pros: "The flight crew was amazing. I have been flying internationally since I was 2 and this was one of the best crews I have had since TWA closed up. They were policy, considerate and very friendly. After 2 weeks abroad I was dreading spending 8 hours on a flight home but as soon as we boarded I knew we had a great crew which we all know can make or break a flight. Once beverage service started they gave us both a huge glass of ice and can of soda which we were very grateful for after a long night and early morning. The flight attendants stop by frequently to see if we needed anything, I would definitely fly Air Canada again."
