Someone stole a cameraPros:Cheap and good value, as alwaysCons:I left my camera in the car upon drop-off. I know exactly where I left it. Nobody found it. Not the person who cleaned the car the same day, not the people who rented the car the same day, not the people who cleaned the car after those people. Basically, someone didn't clean the car thoroughly, and also, someone is lying. Result is I lost an expensive camera. My bad for leaving it behind. Alamo's fault for not finding it.Reviewed 22 Feb. 2016

Cons:The service was great however the car I picked up smelt of cigarettes so they changed it for me but that one smelt of cigarettes and was not cleaned properly. Other than that it was all great.Reviewed 30 May 2020

Wouldn't let me have the carPros:NothingCons:I had pre-ordered the van. When I got to the desk, due to being "only" 23, I was not allowed to get the car. I was only going to be allowed to rent a full-size car at best, not a van or mini-van or suv. That wasn't enough space. The plan for the day was a year in the making and would have been ruined if not for Enterprise letting rent a minivan, not Alamo like I had booked. I know it's not the desk lady's fault, its company policy, a policy that is not even ridiculous; however, it was not indicated anywhere when I filled out the form online. I even put my age as 23 on the online form. Overall, a very upsetting and frustrating experience for us.Reviewed 14 Apr. 2018

The customer is always right. FirstPros:I liked that the location was in the airport. I liked the choices of cars.Cons:I didn't like that the locatiion was the farthest one from where I was coming from and going but that's not really anything you can control. I didn't like that when I said I wanted to pay my bill with a different card than I reserved it with that I had to go to the booth. If I was running late, it may have caused me to miss my flight. And then when I went to the booth, I was told that my card wouldn't work because it was a debit card. I assured your customer service representative that it was also a credit card, instead of trying it out, there was a lot of time spent looking at the card, front and back, talking to another rep until finally, after me having to repeat myself too many times, it was TRIED. And lo and behold, it worked. Again a time suck that could have cost me my flight.Reviewed 11 Oct. 2017

Pros:The car was clean.Cons:Oh my god what a rental disaster. These guys NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONE. I accidentally walked away with the keys (partly my fault, partly the check-in person's fault). After clearing customs, heard their voicemail alerting me to the retained keys. Tried to call them back so I could have left them with an airport security officer for them to pick up. They didn't answer. Got back home to the US, tried to call back. No answer. Finally after sending a message through Alamo main customer service, get an email with an address. They want me to fedex it the next day for $90. I say no, because if THEY HAD JUST PICKED UP THEIR PHONE I could have returned it to an airport security officer at no cost to either of us. Call several times from the Fedex office to see if they have a Fedex account number I can use, but..wait for it...yup, you guessed it, THEY DON'T ANSWER. Ultimately call Alamo corporate here in the US, who are understanding and reasonable and tell me it's ok to send via regular mail - which I do, and inform them via email of the tracking number. Yet I proceed to get bombarded with calls for the next three days from their station manager, and when I try to call back and predictably - the person's voicemail is full. He tells me "when we're busy, my voicemail gets full." That would make sense except it was three days of having his voicemail full. If you run a business and if you're trying to get ahold of someone, CLEAN OUT YOUR VOICEMAIL! I have sent them an email telling them I'm through trying to chase them down. Ridiculously poor customer service. This was an echo of the night of my rental, where I accidentally left my phone at the Alamo counter. They wouldn't pick up their phone that night despite several calls by my dad, my sister and I to see if it was there and whether I could pick it up when flying out the next day - so that forced me to drive 200 miles roundtrip in the middle of the night, and spend $70 on gas unnecessarily to see if it was there - when if they had just answered their phone, I could have picked it up on the way out the next day.Reviewed 7 Mar. 2016
