Placed the car on hold through kayak and was given a price for the set number of days I needed the car. I did not want insurance on the car as my credit card offers coverage and I was willing to accept any liability. However, once I got to the car rental, I was notified that insurance was mandatory through the car rental company, Avis. Initially, I was given a price of $148 at booking and once there they wanted me to pay approximately $500 extra for insurance! I opted to not get the car and was left careless fo the duration of my trip.Reviewed 8 Mar 2026

Car was too small for full size suv, wish I was told only one large suitcase fit with 7 people. We were jammed packed and they were not able to upgrade us to another vehicle since they didn't have any available. The directions of avis car rental on the receipt was the airport so during drop off it took us 30 minutes to find the location.Reviewed 13 Oct 2024
