My first comment: At check-in I advised that I would fill the gas tank prior to drop off. At drop off i requested to get a printed copy of the receipt from the person checking the car in. I then noticed that she charged me $18 for fuel. I then asked her why I was charged for fuel when I brought the car in full of fuel. She asked to see the fuel receipt. I gave it to her to review. She then corrected the charges. She then commented that it was good I checked the receipt. Charging me for fuel should never have happened. Had I not asked for a printed copy of the receipt this would have been much more difficult to correct at a later date. I am very disappointed that this occurred and will think twice about using Avis again. My second comment: The windshield was dirty on the inside. I needed to clean it myself to see out better.Reviewed 11 Dec 2025

I did not enjoy my experience with Avis. The first car I received had a malfunction with the screen that controlled the air, music and navigation. When I went back to exchange it, the next car I was offered was smaller than the original car. I explained this was not okay for our size group and was told my only option was to pay for an upgrade to a minivan. Which was the same cost as the size car I booked when I was online booking months in advanced, but now that it was the day of and their car had issues, I was responsible for paying more. Doesn’t make sense to me. The minivan had extremely poor air conditioning and trash was found in the car.Reviewed 14 Jul 2025

The pick up was quick and easy. Rented from avis ontario weekend prior had the worst experience waiting in line over an hr.. and then they couldn't find reservation and it was prepaid.. san diego was quick n easy. Love it.. will use againReviewed 23 Jun 2024

There was a problem with my reservation dates when I arrived to pickup my vehicle. The representative behind the counter assured me that they fixed my issue and I left with my vehicle. I wasn’t give a physical copy of my contract. When I dropped of my vehicle I was told that my vehicle was late and that I brought it back with less fuel than when I left. I know this isn’t true because I photographed my fuel level when I received my vehicle. I spoke with 2 representatives on the phone and one at the return counter and they all basically told me that there wasn’t anything they could do. Finally, I was told that Avis would adjust my fees. This has yet to be done. I will not being using Avis car rentals in the future.Reviewed 25 Jan 2024
