Was given a clean Toyota Camry hybrid upgrade. However, the cruise control wasn’t working, and I had to travel a couple hundred miles each way between each of my destinations. Fortunately the gas pedal fit a notch between my shoe and part of the carpet. Otherwise great car.Reviewed 22 May 2026

I was unable to pickup my vehicle. Avis stated that vehicle was at a different location but my reservation was the correct one in my email. Avis would not honor the reservation I made with you. I tried contacting Kayak and I was unable to contact or get a hold of anyone to correct your mistake. I had to rent another vehicle with budget and it delayed my whole trip and added expenses I hadn’t planned for. I will not be using your company again.Reviewed 1 Mar 2026

Computer systems were slow or something so the guy running the desk says. There was one guy working the entire line. He was multitasking so he was great but really needed more people working. Took over half an hour to get thru 4 rentals. My rental took 3 minutes to so I’m not sure what the other people’s situation was but I paid extra because I figured Avis was better. Could have paid 2/3 less and gone with Payless for probably the same wait time.Reviewed 2 Feb 2026

My first comment: At check-in I advised that I would fill the gas tank prior to drop off. At drop off i requested to get a printed copy of the receipt from the person checking the car in. I then noticed that she charged me $18 for fuel. I then asked her why I was charged for fuel when I brought the car in full of fuel. She asked to see the fuel receipt. I gave it to her to review. She then corrected the charges. She then commented that it was good I checked the receipt. Charging me for fuel should never have happened. Had I not asked for a printed copy of the receipt this would have been much more difficult to correct at a later date. I am very disappointed that this occurred and will think twice about using Avis again. My second comment: The windshield was dirty on the inside. I needed to clean it myself to see out better.Reviewed 11 Dec 2025

I did not enjoy my experience with Avis. The first car I received had a malfunction with the screen that controlled the air, music and navigation. When I went back to exchange it, the next car I was offered was smaller than the original car. I explained this was not okay for our size group and was told my only option was to pay for an upgrade to a minivan. Which was the same cost as the size car I booked when I was online booking months in advanced, but now that it was the day of and their car had issues, I was responsible for paying more. Doesn’t make sense to me. The minivan had extremely poor air conditioning and trash was found in the car.Reviewed 14 Jul 2025
