It should have been known ahead of me flying in and picking up the car that even with a deposit I would not be allowed to rent certain cars without a credit card. I was willing to double my deposit and buy there insurance but still could not get car I reserved. I normally have my Amex on me but unfortunately left without it. Fortunately I had plenty of cash in my checking account to cover all expenses, so I thought. Really started our vacation out on a very bad start. Ended up with a tiny car for a family of 5 with luggage. If you are willing to over pay for the insurance and put a much larger deposit down. Then why fret over not having a Credit Card.
