The team at Hertz were very friendly and helpful. They speak English very well. The shuttle driver is great. Counter folks very nice and answered all our question about things to do. We will definitely use Hertz Costa Rica again on our next trip.Reviewed 5 Mar. 2023

Hertz took my reservation however no cars were available at the time of the start of my reservation. The hertz dealer then said to use another private guy that he knew at an increased price. It was a scam and I am planning to report hertz to the better business bureau.Reviewed 26 Feb. 2023

We had a credit card hold and reservation number for a 10 day rental. When we arrived they claimed they did not have any cars available that day or for two week! No assistance or concern for in convenience. Simply a shoulder shrug. Not typical for our experience in Costa Rican. Dropped the ball on this one Hertz!Reviewed 22 Feb. 2023

I didn’t like anything. I placed a reservation a month+ ago, and we got there, they didn’t have any cars. The rude hertz rep said he could get one in “maybe a couple of days.” Mind you, we were a 4 hour drive from our destination. I wasn’t going to stay and wait for 2+ days and ruin my vacation. Then he tried to get us to rent a car in cash from some guy he knew outside at some garage. This place is an absolute scam. We called an Uber, cancelled the hertz car, and I will never rent from hertz again anywhere if these are the kind of shenanigans they allow to happen within their brand. Car developed a flat tire while on the road. Called Hertz Whatsapp 24 emergency line no answer. Called the land line and was told to change the tire myself. When I asked what was the point of the 24 hour emergency line, I was told a flat tire doesn’t count as a breakdown. i will never use Hertz again. I will advise anyone who is even thinking about renting from Hertz to rent somewhere else. I advise booking.com to drop them as a source for car rental.Reviewed 19 Feb. 2023

We booked a vehicle in advance of our trip. We received an email confirming our reservation the day before we flew to Liberia. When we arrived we were told there was no vehicle available as they’d over booked. As our vacation plans were based on us having the flexibility to drive from place to place, which obviously required a car, and as our first hotel reservation (nonrefundable) was in Monteverde, we were left to scramble to locate alternative transportation, which was very time consuming and very expensive. Got to liberia to find out the rental wasn’t held for us. There were no cars available at all!! A true nightmare for my wife and I and our 5 yr old. Never again will I book with priceline or hertz . Absolutely disgusting!Reviewed 16 Feb. 2023
