It was great! We only needed a rental for one day while our own car was in the shop. Picking up the rental was efficient and there were no hidden fees or pressure to upgrade. I paid what I expected. Returning the car was easy and fast. Representatives were friendly and knowledgeable. Would rent here again.

Pros:

They did not have my car although I specifically called to make sure the car was going to be there. I was on the phone with the reservations central for about an hour and they refused to talk to the office people. They sent me to Hertz (next door) for double the price, who has the same owner. SCAM !

The Dollar car rental agent in Vancouver told us that they were sold out. Did not say sorry, did not suggest an alternative.

Pros:

We landed in Vancouver (3:35pm) and hurried through customs to try to get our rental location by the time they closed (4pm). There was no way a taxi cab could've got us there in time, but the gentleman at the Dollar cat rental stayed a little later than he needed to and actually picked us up from the airport! The rental was in excellent condition and was great on fuel economy. Rental/return was easy and hassle free. Overall I was VERY satisfied with the price and customer service. Highly recommending this location to anyone in the Vancouver area!

I had a road accident that collided with an animal in highway, causing damage to the car(dented hood). I didn’t buy insurance prior to and during picking up the car. However Policy of the insurance isn’t clear in terms of making up for the loss and repair. It turns out to be not optimal for a situation like this to go as long as it did to let me know how much I am going to pay as I am a traveler and leaving soon. But I don’t want to leave without fixing the problem.

My flight back to hometown was at 7am, but Europcar opens at 8am. They did not have a shuttle service to get us back to the airport. We had to get two taxis since it was 5 of us with 5 luggage. This was around 120$ extra.

Scam alert…. I’m shocked at Kayak that these people have so many scam alert and still allow them to rent their car. They didn’t fill up the gas tank and they said bring it back exactly where it is, only way possible is to fill it up to make sure exactly where it was. They refused to provide insurance while in Vancouver at a cost. This is unreal. In fact shame on Kayak for letting these people taking advantage of their customers. Lastly google showed them to be open at 7 AM and I got there at 7 due to my flight and they open the front door at 8. After my complain they said the contract shows 8 but google shows them at 7 AM. Overall it’s Kayak’s fault.

Product and people were very good. The problem cropped up when we wanted to extend our rental a few days. I had a very good price and knew the daily charge would probably be higher. The increase to $20.00 per day was more than my original contract but that was only $80.00 for the four additional days. The problem cropped up when the “taxes and fees” were going to be an additional $70.00! I couldn’t get any information on the absurd fees considering I had already paid the fees when I paid for my original rental contract. A $70.00 fee on top of the daily rental charge really is absurd.
