However, they decided to leave all of us with a long unexpected layover in Brussels, costing many of us a day of what was supposed to be a short vacation for most."

Cons: "First, I had issues with checking into my flight online, which lead to me having to print my boarding pass at the airport. Since I had a separate flight with Eurowings that sent me from Munich to Paris, which was not connected with this flight, I came in directly into the airport and no where near a Kiosk to check in or print out my ticket/boarding pass. I explained to numerous employees my situation and they casually exclaimed I should be able to make it in. Once I got into the airport I could barely get through security since I did not have my boarding pass. I kept explaining I don't have a boarding pass because I could not check into my flight to obtain it. Then when they finally let me through with only 10 minutes to spare before my flight's gate would close, I finally reached the boarding desk only to be told I had to wait because out of the two men who were scanning boarding passes, they were too busy to help me. I then had to explain three times that I had already paid for and booked my flight, however, I could not check in online and was having an issue with an error that stated I was missing information, even though there was nothing marked in red or anything marked to edit, so each time I tried it denied me. I also tried calling for customer support and did not get a hold of anyone because the lines were too busy. After explaining all of this to the man at boarding, he made me wait an additional 5 minutes before helping me check into the flight and print out my boarding pass. I was treated like a stand-by customer and I did not appreciate it since I paid for this flight and tried to check in 24 hours prior. I was expecting much more from Lufthansa, as my boyfriend recommended this flight company to me, but I was extremely disappointed in so many ways it makes me question whether I want to fly this airline again for future trips abroad."

Cons: "It was quickly clear to me that the passengers where simply an inconvenience to some of the crew on UA998. As an example I fell asleep during take off and woke up in the middle of the meal service. The cart was only a couple of rows behind me in the half-ful Economy Plus section so I got up and tried to get the attention of the staff. The lady turned around and confirmed that "I had woken up" with a sigh, as is not only was it inconvenient to her that I was a sleep, now I had the nerves to actually ask for a meal. She presented me with the options of pasta and chicken and I politely asked what they where served with. She straight out said that "she really did not know that" and asked me to make a choice. I wont get into any other examples, the machine was half full at best and there was no stress, so frustrating to be treated like you are an inconvenience to the USA based staff who clearly just wanted to be left alone. The entertainment system barely worked, the touch monitor was very hard to operate - the pressure sensitive functionality was not working properly but I managed to get to my movie and avoid the Chinese subtitles in the third try. I fly United because it's part of Star Alliance, but otherwise I would try and avoid at all cost."
This was a code share operated by United with a 787. Don't care for the herringbone 2-2-2 seating in business, many other carriers have gone to a 1-2-1 which is better. Food wasn't much better than economy but what really counts is lie flat seats.

Pros: "We were flying from Chicago to Paris and I choose a later connecting flight to make sure there were no issues. We arrived on time and asked to get on the earlier connection if there was room. Initially we were offered the change for a fee (those are the rules) but we were not willing to pay the extra expense and began to leave the counter. We were then offered the change at no charge. We were very thankful as this change/getting to Paris earlier allowed some sleep time to get over our jet lag faster. I flew Aer Lingus a few years before and was pleased so choose them again for this trip and they did not disappoint. I am a fan."

Cons: "I had booked my Air Canada trip and had a single stop-over while I switched to a different plane. Both of these planes were Air Canada. I Even though I made it through Customs in the shortest time possible, and back through security, I still managed to narrowly make my second flight. They were final-calling my name and actually taking off earlier than expected. Had I been 2 more minutes late, my flight would probably have taken off. I didn't check any bags either, so had I checked one, I don't think I would have made my second flight."

Cons: "They boarded us already a half hour late on our plane. Then after we were all boarded they decided to tell us that the pilots had not even landed from their previous flight yet. Once the pilots finally got on board the aircraft they still took another 40 minutes to do their routine checks. Almost two hours later we finally took off."

Seats far too close together for a long flight. There was more legroom on the Jazz flight from Montreal to Ottawa! 4. Entertainment kept breaking down. Headphones for my wife did not work, and eventually both of our screens went dead. Her's quit right in the middle of a movie. Bad!! 5. Boarding passes had zones on them, but these were totally disregarded in boarding. This resulted on overcrowding, long waits, etc. Hard on older people!"

Cons: "For a 5+ hour flight only beverages were offered - anything else (such as a snack or small meal) had to be purchased. Very cheap service IMO. The selection of entertainment (movies/tv shows) was exceptionally limited and out of date. Their way of boarding the plane (via zone) is very backwards as families with children weren't asked to board until half way through the plane loading (unless those families had already paid for the more expensive zone upgrades). Most airlines let them load first to give them extra time. My checked bag was 1.2kg over the limit so I had to open the bag and switch 1.2kg of clothing into my carry on in front of the rest of those checking in. What an embarrassment and such foolery. All in all Westjet does a better job for trips across Canada. Will not be trying Air Canada again."

Small plane size did allow for quick retrieval of bags at final destination."

I brought my own entertainment but I felt bad for the Older generation who may have preferred something a little more relaxing and less CGI explosions. Also the interior decor and hardware of the plane was seriously aged and worn, which could use for an upgrade soon."
Pros: "The crew were very friendly, sweet and accommodating. I had a seat by the exit which I luckily didn't have to pay extra for and the leg room was ample and really helpful on a long flight. The meal was pretty good, but I really wished airlines would stop wasting so much plastic - I think there should be a way we can support the environment better when flying."
Cons: "I didn't realize Air Transat was a bare-bones airline (not that my flight was cheap in cost) - we didn't have pillows or blankets for the flight (10 hours) and had to pay for them! Seems like that should be standard on a long haul flight. The seats are very narrow with poor back support, and my back started to hurt 5 hours in. Many people were standing in the aisles as it was so uncomfortable. I was very cold throughout the flight, which was another uncomfortable aspect. One of the bathrooms was out of order which resulted in everyone using the same one - you can imagine how smelly and messy it got."

Cons: "When the boarding was finallly finalized the airplane was ready to take off on the track for about an hour and a half and no one was told why we weren't taking off. I decided to ask and the flight attendant said that "it took long to embark all the luggage and that it won't be very long". To which, I didn't understand what one thing had to do with the other since that shouldn't be the cause to why we are paralized on the track but I just left it like that. Instantly after she walks to the back, they announce that they there was a problem with the A/C and that we had to wait to have a spot near a gate sothat we could go back and and a mecanic could come and fix it. After it took for ever... they finally fixed it but now we had to wait for gas. At this point, whitin those three hours, only one glass of water was offered to us and no appology. Thankfully, we finally took off, 3 three hours and a half behind schedule. They started to serve food and drinks to first class people and were completely taken care of but no attention to all the other passengers. At this point it's been 5 hours that we are on this plane and it seems that the service was extremly slow to get us hydraded or been offered anything to eat. My flight was 4hours away from Montreal to Calgary initiallyT And this whole event made it an 8hour travel with, the fact being completely ignored by the crew and nothing being offered for customer satisfaction. The pilot only said a small "we apologize" after we had already landed. It isn't the first time that I fly with this company and I find that it used to be one of the top companies in Quebec but the service and the quality have deteriorated overtime. There is always something negative that happens when I fly with them and I've noticed that the customer service isn't really present. It's okay but since it doesn't seem to matter to them, I will no longer fly with this company. (P.S.: this whole event caused me to miss the last bus to my final destination and have to wait at the airport until the next day at 9:30am to take the first bus in the morning... luckily I only work in the afternoon.)"

To add insult to injury some teenager got separated from his parents in the confusing Rome terminal, likely in the bathroom. Was 30 minutes late boarding and because his suitcase was on board we couldn’t leave until they found him or his bag. We therefore missed our takeoff window and left 70 minutes late! So a 9 Hour flight with no infotainment or WiFi or charging became a 10 Hour flight from hell with terrible food to boot."

Cons: "Very very disappointed and angered at how our flight was handled after being delayed at no fault of my own my outbound flight was delayed from Dublin we were told our connecting flight would be organized and waiting for us. Upon arrival I was told I had 30mins until my connecting flight took off, stressed, tired and emotional I rushed through the airport and asked a member of staff to help me. This man was helpful he took me past the while queue and took me to the check in desk and told me I would be served asap. This is where my trip took a turn for the worst. Bare in mind I had been awake for 18 hours I was tired and stressed, the lady at the check in desk was snappy, rude and unhelpful. She read my boarding card and told me I would not be getting on the flight, she wrote me a hotel card and a voucher for food and wasn't very helpful. I began to cry and explained my father was already in Toronto waiting for me and she said I would not be flying. Very upset I walked off and started to cry. A few minutes later a lady who I flew with ran over and told me the lady had read my boarding pass wrong and thought I was on the inbound Tel Aviv flight and had wrongly dismissed me, then I was taken to another desk where staff had no clue what time my flight was at even though they had a computer system in front of them. Very very poor communication between staff with little attention paid to my flying details. My case was then taken by staff and my boarding pass then when the staff finally worked out what flight I was going on they asked for my suitcase to which I replied you already took my case and put into onto the conveyor , all staff denied taking my case or boarding pass which lead me to become more stressed that my luggage would be lost in transit and added to my stressful situation. Finally a lady guided us to our gate for our flight without knowing whether we would make the flight or not. After running round numerous air transat gates we found the gate we were supposed to be at even though the screen said the flight was for nice in France. Totally confusing and frustrating! I had the worst experience this day and will definitely not be flying with air transat or recommending it to anyone after the total disorganising and lack of communication between staff who were unhelpful and added to my stress. Bathrooms were also disgraceful, very unclean dirty and messy, no toilet roll and bins were full and messy. My lunch option was no longer available and I had to eat something I didn't want ."

My companion was asked to stand for 4 hours during the flight with nowhere else to sit while the passenger next to him took up two seats to lay down in to 'recover' rather than recline her seat like the rest of us! That was awful!!"

Staff were attentive and friendly and in flight entertainment options were awesome - lots of shows and movies and games to select from. Our flight departed and arrived perfectly on time. I got woozy and nearly passed out on the outbound flight, and they were very helpful, brought water and helped me get cooled off and lie down, and checked on me repeatedly the rest of the flight. It's not their fault they have to serve such crummy food. We were forewarned by reading reviews and simply brought our own meal aboard. I got an unbelievably good fare to Europe, so for what I saved I decided that didn't mind buying my own food at the airport. Movie choices were somewhat limited, but I found a few that I was interested in watching."
Cons: "In Paris Air Transat flies into a tiny little terminal where you have to take a shuttle bus from the plane to the building. It was OK when arriving, but a hassle when boarding for the return flight. The check-in person made a fuss about my very small backpack which was my personal item and would fit easily under the seat. I finally placated her by checking my larger pack (which also fully qualified as a carry-on). I saw so many other people with both a small rolling suitcase and a substantial personal item, so I'm not sure what that was all about. Be aware that the weight limit for carry-ons is pretty restrictive--10 Kg or 22 lb. We intended to pack light anyway, so that was a good incentive!"
