FAQs for booking flights from Burlington to Las Vegas

  • Must I pay for my checked bag on a standard economy class flight?

Most airlines impose a surcharge for checked baggage on economy flights. Nevertheless, you can avoid paying extra if you get a co-branded credit card from your preferred carrier, like American Airlines AAdvantage Platinum. With such a card, your first and second checked baggage will be allowed for free, among other benefits like priority boarding.

  • Can I check in early and print my boarding pass?

After booking a flight with American Airlines, take advantage of their mobile app to check in beforehand and download the boarding pass. The app also updates you with flight information and crucial announcements that may be made before and during a flight from BVT to LAS.

  • Will I be allowed to board early with my small children?

Book your flight with an airline that gives priority boarding to mothers with babies, unattended minors, and special needs passengers. United Airlines allows pre-boarding for families with kids below two years. This means you will get into the plane even before high-level elite passengers. Wait for the gate agent to announce your time to board.

  • Is a kennel included in my baggage allowance when traveling with a pet on this route?

When traveling with your cat or dog, the weight of the kennel is not part of the baggage but rather taken as a personal item — book in advance to avoid missing a spot for your pet's carrier. If you travel with American Airlines, your dog will be lucky to have its own compartment at the aircraft's head.

KAYAK’s top tips for finding a cheap flight from Burlington to Las Vegas

  • Fly with Delta from Burlington International Airport (BVT) to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) to avoid a random assignment of a seat or an extra fee for pre-selection (except the basic economy). This means your kids or partner will not be separated from you during the journey.
  • We recommend a flight with Sun Country for leisure travelers. Save your vacation budget by bundling up your activities with their special business package with seasonal flights to famous tourist destinations and charter flights. A vacation package is often a cheaper air ticket for your getaway to Las Vegas.
  • JetBlue's herringbone business class offers the utmost luxury within the Mint Studio and Mint Suite. The two are like a mini apartment with a 6'8" lie-flat bed, sliding door, memory foam cushion, foldable table, vanity mirror, and a bigger screen. The Mint Studio (the first row) is more comfortable in bed mode and offers more space. The seats are well-padded. If you have a guest, you may invite them to the Mint Studio for a drink, as the seat includes an extra seatbelt.
  • The basic economy is often restrictive, and you may not be eligible for upgrades, and any changes to your flight may attract a fee. However, you can enjoy more flexibility and zero change fees if you book the Main Cabin class by Delta. You will be eligible for a same-day standby and be able to earn miles toward the medallion Status.
  • Most BVT-LAS flights have a single stopover at one of these airports: Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), and Denver International Airport (DEN). Some flights, mainly by Delta, may include a second layover at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

Everything about this flight was good except for the very end when I reached my destination. Everyone from the tune to the wheelchair escorts were great with the case were great but I miss you with people at the check in this at the very end. I need help from the chicken desk because I forgot my pillow on the plane The female worker at the chicken desk said that they found my pillow and she was going to retrieve it for me. She left a 30 minutes without any update and her so she saw me walking back and forth waiting for her and they didn't even bother calling her or radioing her for any updates. They were busy because they were behind schedule and they were overwhelmed but thanks because at least glanced me and try to give me an update just a quick radio check or phone call. I don't care about the pillow but if you tell me to wait, I waited for at least half an hour before I said something and I just left because they wouldn't bother talking to me so I could, so everything's going in the review. I took pictures of the two men that were left working at the check-in counter. The totally ignored me despite the signals I've been giving them. I don't see any offers in the kayak review to add pictures or screenshots so I'm going to post another review I don't know their name but I'm pretty sure Delta will find other names when they see the review. Google with pictures. There was another guy at the chicken counter bring an orange workers vest who finally left after telling me that the girl that was retrieving my pillow is working the gates now. That would have been if they just told me that's what happened. But I had no update. Make me wait for nothing. Thank you Delta airlines!

We had a great experience with Delta. They helped us from the start at the kiosk all the way to our final destination, including help reassigning and upgrading our seats free of charge at the gates, escorts with the wheelchair for my brother and even getting our luggage at baggage claim for us. I also had special help because I forgot my pillow on the plane. The wheelchair escort contacted for associates at the check-in desk all the way back to the plane and retrieved my pillow for me.

Crew was real good, flight was smooth and came in early.

My service light was on 15 minutes before I had to get up and find a glass of ice. And I was in business class. The meals were not for either my wife and I. She did not eat the entire 10 hour flight and I managed a bowl of soup. I was expecting much more from business with what we paid.

The only thing I would say is we tried to get on a standby earlier flight, but with our fair we couldn’t. That seems senseless to leave with open seats..

It was delayed but other than that it was great.

Crew was good. The reservation got mixed up and they didn't have my TSA number. I am also a Silver Medallion and wasn't able to use Sky Priority.

There was supposed to be a meal served, but there wasn’t and the major toilet was out of order

At first, we were on the runway for about an hour, literally. The Captain did explain that the Control Tower just had a change shift (sounds like an unrealistic excuse) and then that we had to change a runway. A regular economy seat is made for 12 yo twiggy. I understand Delta wants to push for an upgrade, but after sitting in a Comfort seat and in First class. I would say First class is not worthy of my money. The landing was delayed because of the weather in NYC, I don't hold that against Delta, of course. The Captain did alert us to that upon takeoff in Vegas and again as we reached NY.

Better service. No food options, but we did get drinks and a cookie.

We were 4+ hours delayed. AA is absolutely obnoxious. They just kept pushing back the time to the point where we did not get into Vegas until after midnight when we were supposed to arrive like 845pm.

We will be writing a long, detailed letter to corporate about our awful experience with American airlines.

Very helpful ground crew after an earlier flight delay and being rebooked on a different flight.

I was a little disappointed of not having an android charger. Only one it was for an iPhone. I've flown American in the past and had access to one.

Almost everything was outstanding. First, we boarded on time and the flight crew did a great job getting everyone seated. Then the pilots took their time and care to make sure the plane was full de-iced three times as there was a bad ice storm a few hours earlier. The plane ride was smooth and comfortable and even the economy seats had decent room and comfort. Flight Attendant Lisa went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable - she is outstanding. The only thing wrong with the flight, and it is something which needs to be addressed, is that the gate to gate time was over 6.5 hours and not one meal was served. The only thing offered to eat were two small cookies for a transcontinental flight - unacceptable. Charge me more but give me a meal for a long flight. Thankfully Lisa found something for me.

I got bumped due to weight restrictions even tho there were empty seats on my flight. I got put on an other flight with a stopover. My flight that originally was going to take 5-6 hours ever up being 14+ hours and my luggage arrived to my destination without me because I was made to check in my luggage on my original flight when I was deemed ok to board only to be asked to deplane. Worst flight experience.

First class flight attendant was rude and lacked any customer service skills.

They didn't have any gluten-free snacks, oddly, which I require...or any flavored soda water or decaf tea options, which seems to be standard.

It was as expected for such a short flight. No complaints
