Upgraded to 1st was great. Food served was very good and was the flight attendants in 1st

It did not allow me to check in and left seats in advance or get a boarding pass. When specifically asked agent at gate for the row that had extra leg room, as my so. Is 6’4” she gives us a row where the seats do not even incline nor is there any extra room. Also the temp in Avon was high, making many passengers sweat Improve customer service !

But, when we landed, as passengers were trying to get off of the plane, the attendants were putting all of the collected luggage at the entry to the jetway. It created congestion. Then, anyone who had luggage, had to lineup against the side of the jetway, awaiting their luggage, and increasing the congestion. First, it was inconvenient. Since the armrest had two femal plugs in it then I assumed that the headphone required the two male plugs. That didn’t work. It wasn’t until much later that I tried the single plug from the headphone but that only worked when jiggling it around to make it connect properly. Would have preferred one of the new systems that allow you to stream a movie of your own choice to your own device."

The lady behind the desk appeared to be junior staff and had to wait numerous time to ask her co-workers for help. By the time they helped her, she told me that it was too late to make the flight (even though I discovered later that the departure time was even postponed)! As a result, I arrived in Medellin 4-5 hours later than planned, causing me to miss a tour that I had scheduled for that afternoon, for which I was not refunded. First time using Copa Airlines was unfortunately not a good one."

Cons: "We traveled with 16 months old toddler. When checking in online I requested kids meal under our reservation. So, I got kids meal but there was no food for me. If I didn’t request child’s meal, I would get my dinner, but my child would be hungry. It was ok, we shared, but later I asked for whole milk for my son, but they didn’t have it. I am glad I had some toddler formula with us, otherwise I don’t know what we would do. It was a 16 hour travel with one stop and they had no milk on both airplanes. I never write anything bad ever but I think the airline should reconsider kids services. There should have been milk and separate tray for child to eat."

Cons: "There was a prolonged delay on arrival in Panama, as the gate was apparently in use. They set up stairs (on the runway?) and they transported us by bus to the airport. On the connecting flight to Guatemala, they began boarding an hour before departure, only to wait on a bus to be taken to the aircraft. Apparently the airline doesn't only double book seats on flights, but on Gates on arrival and departure as well? Aside from this particular gripe, the crews were pleasant and the airfare was a relative bargain, so all in all not a bad option IMO."

Cons: "Well, when we arrived to Panama City to catch our connecting flight to Las Vegas back home. We were not allowed to enter the boarding gate. We had 40 minutes before the plane was leaving. Our flight from Lima the airplane left 30 minutes late. Overall people were still boarding the plane to Las Vegas and we were directed to Copa Customer service were we had to pay an additional $662.00 for a “Standby” ticket for the next Day.!!! Overall we had to find a hotel in a city we are not familiar with and possibly losing our jobs in America for not arriving back to work on time. Overall we were not the only individuals experiencing difficulties with Copa Airlines, there were as many as 15 people with complaints for change of boarding doors with out notifications, missed flights due to late arrivals. It all seems a scam and as soon as we return to America, we have contacted several attorneys interested in class action lawsuits against Cooa and its affiliates. Stay away from Copa."

Ni esposo tivo que ir por otra maleta para poder viajar pero no me gusto la forma en que se burló de nosotros y la manera en que nos trató"

Cons: "They broke off one of the 4 wheels of my checked-in bag rendering it useless. I approached the luggage complaint section of Copa Airlines and they said they only fix or replace bags when they make an actual hole in the fabric, which would basically require using a sharp knife or a chainsaw. Broken wheels (mine was completely gone), handles etc don't count, in other words, they can throw around your bags like they mean nothing to them because their policy protects them, not you. I'm pretty sure Copa isn't the only airline doing this but it needs to be said regardless, it's really not fair the way they treat / abuse customers' belongings without making themselves responsible for hardly any of it."

Cons: "The desk attendant tried to bump me off the flight and after a long argument and vociferous complaints on my end I was given a seat on the flight which I had already paid for. After getting a seat for the first leg of the flight I realized I had been put on standbye for the second leg of the flight which meant I would likely get stuck in Panama city. I went back to the desk and after another long argument I was given a seat. I was offered no compensation and they acted like they were doing me a favor by giving me a seat on the flight. When I sat down and asked the girl next to me how her day was going she told me she had had the same expernece as me but becuase she had complained less she had been bumped off of both her flights that she had purchased 6 months in advance without an explanation. Later on the flight from Panama city to san francisco which is a 7 hour flight, Copa airlines has security set up so that you cannot bring any liquids (even water you buy at the airport). This meant the passengers had a 7 hour flight without water. The crewd came through the cabin 2 maybe 3 times with drinks but this is not nearly sufficient for a 7 hour flight if you cant bring your own water..."

Cons: "The aircraft was really old, the space between the seats are so tiny that was impossible do not touch the person on your side, my knees came touching the seat in front of my the wole time, to resume the space, I can say that I never had a seat with so small space like that, even in domestics flights. About the food, they started to giving us a little oreo and just gived us some food again 6 hours later and they dont have nothing to sell, I spent the wole flight with really hungry. To complete, they dont have indivual flat screens, so you have to watch the comum tv, that just showed one movie and nothing more. I thing that its should be not permitted to flight on this aircraft for international flights."
Cons: "People from COPA in Guayaquil's airport didnt make the announcement to board in english, they only spoke in spanish! I am from united states and I don't know speak in spanish, that was a totally lack of respect for the people who work in Copa. The flight attendant inside the plane didn't speak english, her treated was the worst! She asked me to change my seat, I was sitting in an emergency seat and she decided to put there an old woman who had 65 years old approximately instead of me that I am 35 years old and the only problem is that I don't speak spanish!!! Then she offered me something to eat talking to me in spanish and knowing that I don't understand that language. I felt humillate because at the end of the flight she said in english "Have a nice day Sir"???!!!!! It supposed that she didn't know english, so I felt that she was playing. It was my first time flying with Copa Airlines and I had the worst experience ever travelling with them!"

On my transfer flight going Lima to LA, we have to go thru security again at door of plane in Panama boarding to LA. Cons: "Second plane from panama to Costa Rica, the crew embarressed me and my friend and I will never fly on that airline again if Sandie Machida ever works on it. She is the ruddiest and most unprofessional flight attendant and needs extra lessons on costumer service and how she hosts guests."
Cons: "Although the airline knew about the delays it decided to make people wait inside the airplane for almost 4 hours. That was insane! I refer to this specific situation with such dislike because I had friends traveling at the exact same time as us through a different airline whom didnt let the people aboard the plane until climate warnings were cleared. It was the proper thing to do! I been in others flights in which weather conditions dont allowed to depart on time and people is not allowed to go on board until the conditions are better. No even a cup of water was offered during this stressful time, and the seatbelt sign was on the whole time. It was horribly handled!!!"
Cons: "I've flown Copa many times before and it's generally good for low-cost price but this time was horrible, probably because our first time with new baby. First, there was unexpected shock of having to pay $300 at gate for ticket for the baby, even though she is 4 months and sat on my lap the whole time. Never heard of charging for that and we had to pay % of roundtrip ticket cost right there and then. Second, they don't allow early boarding for families with small children. Third, and finally, on the trip back they also suddenly announced a "no checking boxes policy" which I had also never heard of. We had to take a baby swing out of its box, dismantle it, and carry on a large part of it. A total hassle and crew was not very understanding. Definitely think twice about flying Copa if you have kids."

The staff in Chicago told me they couldn't promise to get me food to Quito, Ecuador, but that they had put in the request for my returning flights. When returning, I spoke with the staff in Ecuador & come to find out that no request was ever put in. There were only notes of my initial inquiry about requesting vegan meals. Fortunately, the staff was great and were able to get me a vegan meal and told me that they put in a request for my connecting flight. When getting to the gate for my connecting flight the following day, the staff tells me that there is no request for a vegan meal. They were great and were able to get me one, but it was a bit annoying to have to keep dealing with the same issue on all four flights, especially, when I had spoken with someone prior to my 1st flight."
Cons: "Leaving vegas to Panama they checked my passport and stamped my ticket "documents ok" .. Arriving in Panama we flew to costa Rica again checked my passport and stamped my ticket "documents ok" ... Now almost 11 hours later we arrive in Costa Rica and because my passport was ripped they wouldn't let me in the country and sent me back. Why your airlines couldn't have told me this before I got all the way to Costa Rica and passed two check points I don't know. So you guys said you would send us to Puerto Rico but I would have to by my own plane ticket home... Very disappointed in your airline. And to top it off my boyfriend and I had very expensive osprey packs we were traveling with .. We used a copa plastic bag to wrap them up in Vegas so the strings would not get caught .. When we received our packs in Puerto Rico YOUR employees had taken the bags off and cut my boyfriends 300 dollar bag! I will never fly again with your airline."

Cons: "Plane was late and took too long to board so that when we we t to take off we had lost our spot then waited for 3 hours to get going, about 90% of the passengers had a connecting flight which they obviously missed and then they blamed the weather. Sent us to a hotel in a ridiculously disorganized fashion for which they had 3 hours plus flight time to prepare for. New boarding passes were a mess and had to wait a long time to get mine printed cause they forgot to. In the morning in order to save money they sent us on a stupid early bus so that half of us could be sent back to the airport, so that meant we missed breakfast and the 2 hours plus of sleep."

Cons: "We got to the airport 2 hours early and they had us line up in a Very slow moving line. When we finally reached the front an hour had gone by and the customer service rep then said we must have an exit flight from Guyana to get our boarding pass. This is the first we'd heard of this although we had researched visa requirements, etc for Guyana. We stepped out of line and quickly booked a flight on our phone, but when we tried to jump back in again the attendant made us wait in line again (a shorter one, but not smart considering the time crunch at that point. Finally we got to the front again and the attendant was very slow about entering our information. Then suddenly she calmly noted, "oh, it's too late to check you in, you can't make this flight." ... We were upset to say the least and after pestering her further about a reimbursement she said we would have to wait until she dealt with all the other customers (a long line of an hour or more) and that she couldn't put us on the next few flights because they were full. Finally she let us borrow her phone so that WE could call customer service and try to deal with it. They of course gave us the run around and we still don't have a reimbursement and will likely never book with Copa airlines again. Hopefully after a few more phone calls we can eventually get reimbursed. :("

The flight seemed like it was on time, but instead of getting us there, they made us sit on the plane for 45 minutes to wait for other passengers coming from another flight. I would consider a few minutes nice and the right thing to do, but not 45, as this was a complete disregard for the rest of us. They said it was the last flight to Halifax. Great, that lets me know they just didn't want to put them up in a hotel. They have ridiculously high fees, but they won't deliver the service promised in a timely manner to save themselves money. Seems like they are pinching pennies at the cost of quality service."

I flew back the next day after my flight was rebooked four times... I filed a claim for hotel reimbursement, but no responses after three days...."

I went on line and filed a complaint and lost and found report - am betting a large amount of money I hear nothing other than an automated reply."
