Kept me waiting for hours with the excuse of aircraft needed to cool down and then cancelled.
Well I had insisted to be put on standby because I knew there was one seat so there should have been another. There was, seat 36AC for both of us, the last row in the plane that does not recline nor does it have any room in the overhead bin because of plane necessities. The bathroom right behind so a line up with people's bums on your arm rests, etc. We were happy to get a flight earlier because of the missed connection, but we saw flight people who were sitting in customer seats and I felt we should have been seated there and they should have been put in the back. Plus the stewardesses were wearing so much perfume, I had to hold my nose because of a severe allergy to perfume.
Air Canada was delayed on the initial flight causing us to be put on another flight that took us to a different airport that did not have our connecting flight. We had to rebook the flight from Tokyo to Bangkok when we arrived after clearing customs. We spent and additional 8 hours because of this. Return flight was also delayed on departure but we were able to make or connecting flight in Tokyo. The business seats need improvement, the seats are a bit hard for such a long flight.
Liked getting into Milan at 10 AM. Also ok to get into LAX at 9:35 pm. - less traffic driving home. Layover a bit long - say 3-4 hours each way. Montreal airport kind of grim these days. Would lose the duty free area. Think art versus advertising. Maybe local shops and food spots. And keep layover short - like 1 hour on Finnair in Helsinki.
I did the online check-in as soon as it opened, including all the required info. When I got to the airport to drop off the luggage, Air Canada system wasn't finding my PR card info, which took a long time to resolve. Every time I fly with Air Canada, there is always some technical glitch.
The experience with air Canada, was not really good, first they try to charge for the seat again in the counter after being paid in advance, second we have to wait for a hora inside the plane before departure for mechanics problems
Our baggage didn’t make it to IAD even with a four hour lay over in Montreal. Very irritating!
Easy booking process and great follow up notifications. Need to improve boarding process and flight crew should be more personable and friendly with passengers.
Great Aircraft Nice crew I got really sick on the food which lasted for a number of days
There were repeated delays, which were always longer than announced. We sat on the plane for over an hour in Milan and over an hour in Montreal. We ended up arriving over 3 hours late. We missed the connecting flight and then, contrary to their stated policy, they re-booked me for not the next available flight, but an even later flight. Many of the movies shown on the monitor were not actually available and would quit before starting. The crew was nice, but there was no attempt to do something extra to make up for things. For example, they could have provided free wifi. I will try to avoid flying Air Canada in future.
In my first flight with Air Canada we sat in the plane for 4:00pm to 6:30pm. Finally we were asked to get off the plane and we were told the flight was cancelled after 7:00pm There was o clear explanation of what was the problem. I was booked without my permission on a Delta Flight at 7:30pm that was leaving at 8:00pm and I still had to go get my luggage(my final destination was Rome with one stop in Toronto. The luggage claim for Canada was closed so had to return to finally get it on the luggage belt.. Of course I missed the Delta flight and all the next day flights were booked. I also lost what I paid for my stay in Rome because I did nt cancel in time. A complete nightmare.
The flight was delayed 7 hours and we were given 10 euros vouchers. This is ridiculous. The crew was not nice at all, they just did their job with serving food and drinks. Did not even apologize for the delay!!!!

Not much leg room. The person in front of me had her seat reclined throughout the flight— made it very difficult to get up. Staff was excellent and worked very hard.
It would be much improved if the crew didn't force me to ride with my seatback up on an eight hour flight. What’s the point of a reclining seat if you’re forced to sit in the fetal position?
