Pros: "my flight going to Peru was disappointing the entertainment unit in front of me did not work I tried to get help from the steFf but they just smile and walk away service was terrible on my way back from Peru the plane broke down in Bogotá Columbia we were trapped inside the plane for three hours with no air-conditioning we disembarked and they offered us to stay in a hotel but the hotel voucher took a very long time to receive we ended up going to the hotel at 3 o’clock in the morning to get up at 5 o’clock in the morning for the return flights very disappointed will not fly Avianca again"

Certainly it is very hard to damaged a Samsonite ultralight (carbon fiber) and also certainly it is worth close to US 500. I am going to arrive to my final destination in Toronto with my claim and see what happened. I hope Avianca will honour me to either repair my luggage in Toronto or exchange it for another one similar."
Cons: "There was no entertainment option. There were no screens or charging stations on the seats and my earphone plug did not work to watch the movie playing on the common screen, which was very small and hard to view."
Cons: "The checking process at the counter in Lima was horrible,they moved me to another flight saying that mine was delayed. Once they moved me to Alan they couldn’t check me in and send me back to Avianca, during that process they lost my suitcases. I arrived to Orlando with no clue where my suitcases where and I was traveling g with to young kids. Although I recovered my suitcases I haven’t heard a follow up."

My daughter is 2 and didn't like that her dad was moving somewhere else as we were taking off. Since the crew member didn't want to ask the individual sitting next to me, I asked if she would mind moving so that our family could stay together."

People will bring bags with full roasted chickens - Entretainment was ok, but their system is just so slow - A lot of loss time because they lost my bags in one of the connections. Hopefully they brough it back 12 hours later"

First, flight was delayed until 2pm, then 4pm, 6:30pm and finally 8:15pm. They could have told us to leave and come back at 8pm.We were there since 8am and many passengers even earlier. I was with my 6 year old daughter. I got tired of requesting a charger for my cell to be able to use it for work reasons and they kept IGNORING me and would not even make the effort. Never again Avianca."

Cons: "I'm writing this review in behalf of my mother, who had a nightmare in Lima, Peru. Avianca changed her flight without prior notice (email or phone). She is a 72 years old woman that had a stroke three years ago, can't be exposed to any stressful situation, she needed to take medication at 9:30am LIFETIME! They didn't asked if she had a health condition, they just decided to change her flight from the one at 10:00am to the one at 5:00pm. Maybe they would be able to guess it as she was so nervous, she showed worried and confused in the counter where they informed her the "news" during check-in process. She arrived 3 1/2 hours in advance to the airport in order to avoid flight stress. She doesn't have family in Lima, so they sent her to a nice hotel (but far), arrived at 10:15am so she took her medication late. Very stressful episode for me and my family after trying to contact her as the hotel didn't let her call us (Avianca said she would have an international courtesy call). My mother called a friend of mine informing her the situation, that is how I knew about this. She didn't ate correctly that day as her food has to be low sodium. They should have arranged her flight in a same group plane and avoid old persons (with conditions) wait 9 hours. There are no words to express my frustration as nobody could help me in Avianca customer service. They should have priorities and consideration for elder people as this kind of situations are harmful for them, their blood pressure and their hearts! CERO COMMON SENSE!"

Cons: "The airplanes where not clean - the seats smelled. We had 6hs flight and they didn't provided blankets, there where no personalized entertainment to the passengers. They have better aircrafts but this one was the worst international flight experience that I had."
Pros: "awful turbulence as we approached quito. pilot had to ascend just as we were landing. We circled quito for about 15 mnutes while strong winds shook the plane. pilot handled the plane well.. we all clapped when we landed.."

Cons: "The chairs in the row in which we were sitting could not recline. The reason was that our row was in front of the emergency exit. However if you have had a very short night the only thing you want is to sleep a little bit in the plane. Because the chairs could not recline this became very difficult. The plane left also very early so we had to be there at 0400."

First the delay was 2 and a half hours, then three, then 4, then 7 hours. I was traveling for one meeting from one day coming back the next afternoon. With the 7 hour delay, I'd have to go directly from the airport, after a horrible night, to my board meeting. It was a no go. I declined to travel and expect a full refund"

Booked it so people were cramped together while others had entire rows to themselves (on other flights I’ve been on flight attendants recognize this and help space out people). Horrible seats in general with no space and I am a very petite female and I felt uncomfortable. Horrible temperate control. Will not fly this airline again."
