Was charged $80 for checking my carry on which was supposed to be delivered to my connecting flight. As I walked by the carousal there was my carry on… Carried it on my flight from Cartagena to JFK NYC. I should not be charged the $80 carry on fee as if I didn’t get my carry on then it would be stuck in Columbia.

I bought my son’s tickets 3 months before the flight through an agency just to request flight attendant services. On the day of the flight the agency called me in the morning saying Latam had canceled the flight from Boston and that aid have to drive my son yo New York. I get that the poor communication wasn’t Latam’s fault but I called Latam at least a dozen times to confirm that everything was OK and that my son would still have the flight attendant service and I was told by many different customers services that things were OK but when we got to the airport I had the most horrible time ever. They told me the service was requested but but approved and that my son would have to flight without the flight attendant service and they kept telling me since he’s 12 he didn’t need flight attendant? An international flight for the very first time unaccompanied and they wanted me to just let it happen? It took me over 1 hour of arguing and explaining that I’ve bought the tickets over 3 months ahead of time just to be certain that my son would have the flight attendant services on both ways and they finally told me they’d add the service last minute because they understood that my flight from Boston got canceled. I paid $150 each way and my son did not seat with the other kids nor was supervised during the flights. They simply sat him and disappeared until the flight landed. I cannot believe how ridiculous and irresponsible this was and I really hope to never use Latam’s services again. I DO NOT recommend Latam to anyone. I had the most difficult time ever and I always do everything ahead of time to make sure things go smoothly. The agency where I bought the tickets is located in Marlborough, Ma right in Main st abs I also do not recommend anyone to waste time and money with them. I cannot believe that they waited until the day of the flight to inform me I had to drive 4 hours plus to a different state. Of course it’s my mistake for not have checked but I left the agency with the paper print out with the flight information saying I’d leave from Boston so I trusted it. Not going to happen again. I always bought my international tickets online and never had any problems but since my son was Ma going to travel alone, I decided to use the agency. Horrible experience. I’m so happy it’s over.

Food is few and lack of taste.
Almost nothing to eat, an airplane from the 1990's without an usb port to charge devices, and besides, my luggage came out with a broken wheel.
We bordered at 408pm Monday on time from Medellín to Bogota but when on the plane we sat on the runway from 420 to 700pm.. they never let us off the plane judt said logistical issues. I had a connecting flight to Quito Ecuador from Bogota the same say at 748pm. We landed in Bogota at 815pm missed my flight. I was told to call my provider Kayak.com ans Kiwi.com No replies until 7hrs later. In which they denied the plane even left the terminal as they said it was canceled but hey I have photos and sent them and they still couldn't belive it. So I sent proof and now they argue with me about waiting 3 months for repayment of the connecting flight. I've spoken now 25 agents all differnt names all giving differnt information. Never seen a company in 37 years be so unprofessional
There are 3 reasons to fly a different airline and 1 to fly this one. Cons 1. Getting off the plane they row by row but you cannot stand up before. It took nearly 3x the time and people that are slower that normally wait were being assisted by flight attendant so we all sat and watched. 2. we could NOT use phones while waiting to get off plane as they claimed they were fueling ... That is 7 year old fears. 3. They don't board in any logical way so just a complete mess. Pro 1. Clean plane

Charging for bags is at discretion of crew. When buying the tickets for me and my family I checked the policy about luggage and the website doesn’t state about being charged for getting regular size bags like ours."

I had a negative Covid antigen test result from the airport clinic just before checking in for the flight. Subesequent to that, I requested that that the airline at least honor the flight from Cartagena to Bogota thinking that when I arrived in Bogota, as it is a more international airport, I would be able to convince a manager there that the current travel regulations to Peru only require a Covid antigen test within 24 hours of travel to Peru. The airline reps and manager refused to even honor my flight ticket from Cartagena to Bogota athough no Covid test at all is required for travel within Colombia. The female attendants scoffed at me. Furthermore, the male staff person got incredibly aggressive with me in front of everyone in the airport to the point where I had to step back thinking he was going to get physical with me. In all of my travel to 54 countries and 51 years of travel, I have never been treated this poorly by an airline. I had to go to the counter of another airline where I was able to purchase another ticket to Bogota and was able to fly out that hour by paying for another ticket. Fortunately, my bank has granted me a chargeback although I was forced to pay more for a ticket purchased at the counter of another airline. I am SURPRISED this Viva Airlines is even in business!

This is not what I understood when booking and is not clearly explained at the time of purchase. One attendant at the gate in particular was forceful and rude when insisting that I pay over $66 in cash at a moment when going to the ATM would mean potentially missing boarding and not arriving back in time to the gate. This process, which I agreed to because two staff members gave me the impression that I could not travel on the flight unless I paid right there instantly in CASH (completely ridiculous), caused me anxiety and took a long time, too long given the urgency of boarding the flight. I had to wait for change for 5 minutes and as a result, I was the last one to board. It should be noted that this process of paying for a maleta in hand at the gate had been preceded by having to pay over $20 in cash to print a boarding pass, which required another ATM withdrawal and fee. This is a weak and predatory business model, which seeks to exploit people’s need to travel and their anxiety. This was carried out in a completely unprofessional and manipulative manner by the staff members. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and exploitative."

You have to print one from home or use an internet cafe at the airport that charges $6 to print a single sheet of paper. They jam your carry on bag into a small box. Boarding took longer than the flight! The seats are incredibly cramped yet they recline all the way back, so you're likely to have someone in your lap for the entire trip. Absolutely horrible. Nothing like other high quality discount airlines such as Air Asia which at least treat you like a human being."
