Cons: "The pilot arrived late because he went for a Tim Horton's coffee (I know that because I was in first row and I heard the flight attendants talking about that). Then, after he finally arrived with a tray full of coffees, there was an issue with the jet's computer and had to reset it and we had to wait even more. When we finally arrived, our Gate was taken by other plane already and we had to wait (more) for the first one to be available for us. Then, when we finally got our Gate, there was another issue, now with the "finger". They weren't able to move it and connect it to the plane to get off of it. So we had to wait AGAIN. And finally as soon as we got off the plane, they were supposed to give us our carry ons on the aisle (Because it was a small plane CR700) , but again, we had to wait almost 10 minutes so that they could send the luggage... To make things worse, I had a first class ticket and I couldn't get the perks of it at the airport. Because they said I wasn't flying in an international flight. Come on?! Canada->USA->Mexico is not International??? You lost me AA."

Cons: "Booked flight through British air for a reason. Didn’t anticipate American Airlines being used for our flights. The Flight was also delayed but it was never explained why despite dozens of questions from passengers. This caused a missed connection flight and forced us to stay overnight in Chicago with nothing but a $12 food voucher. When we tried t ask what other options were, American Airlines personal offered no sympathy and said the best we would get is the food vouchers and we should be grateful. No other travel reimbursement or vouchers were offered other than a replacement flight. Overall it was a huge inconvenience and caused numerous other expenditures for us."

We spent about a half hour in line in each- immigration and then customs. Rental cars is another situation to be aware of regarding insurance."

Cons: "Connections to US destinations now require your checked in baggage to be processed before you can proceed to your connecting flights. The real problem is that this is no sign or communications describing this. Everyone is simply stopped in the corridor and told that they cannot proceed farther until their name comes up green on a monitor. Unfortunately the monitor switches displays so frequently that it is almost impossible to read. In addition to that it seems names do not always appear on the monitor unless you get your boarding pass scanned a the desk (this is not communicated to you unless you ask why your name is not on the monitor at all). People late for connecting flights (because of inbound flight delays) are required to wait without explanation sometimes needlessly if they don't have a checked bag. A nightmare if you're trying to make your connection. In addition once you've cleared that hurdle you need to go through security again (something we were unprepared for since we were already in the secure area. You then proceed to customs and then your connecting flight (if you haven't already missed it by then). Allow lots of time to get to your connecting flight, and ask to get you boarding pass scanned at that mysterious "checked bag" stop in the corridor."

Cons: "Real nightmare as I had booked YUL-LYS-BRU with Brussels Airlines (SN). YUL-LYS was operated with Air Canada. Came within 4 minutes of missing flight despite being at airport 3 hrs early. SN had not released ticket to Air Canada so they could not check me in. Had to call SN customer service after AC could not check me in, then wait and wait as they had to try to correct the mistake 3x before AC counter could issue boarding passes. Terrible experience going through this with 2 small kids waiting. It’s as if the two airlines’ systems don’t communicate but passenger is responsible for resolving."

Cons: "The flight was delayed by an hour and then once up in the air, passengers were told the food cart didn't make it the 6 hour flight so no food or snacks for the entire flight from Montreal to San Francisco."

Took into consideration who was travelling together and left a positive impression! Plane boarded early and was loaded and ready to roll AHEAD of scheduled take off time."

Cons: "while on my way to the airport i got a message that my flight was cancelled. luckily i had a friend who took care of putting me on another flight to toronto. weather created changes but just sending a message your flight is cancelled is not the right way to deal with things. when finally arriving to toronot i had to rush to my flight to tel aviv, it was insane, just to realize that also this flight was postponed due to the weather. air canada should be more involved in helping travelers to deal with their connections."

Cons: "Although we boarded on time, there was a wait of over 1.5h in the plane. First time in my life i was beyond uncomfortable. What i couldn't understand was why we had to be in the plane for the refueling. It makes more sense to wait in the airport at the gate rather in a tight confined place. I'm overall pissed at the situation. Not to mention my seat was defective and although the seat was up, it would push back the moment you put weight. The flight attendant kept on asking me to place my seat in the upright position (which wasn't possible). To get her off my back, i held my back up with my own weight. I'm disappointed with aircanada."

Cons: "This flight was two and a half hours late. We lost an hour and 45 minutes due to a mechanical problem with our airplane, then lost another 45 minutes due to a storm in Toronto. Air Canada blamed the weather for our late arrival, my missed connection and claimed no responsabilility for the fact that my trip ended up taking more than 24 hours when it was supposed to take about 9 hours. Also, there was the matter of the lost luggage which was a carry on that I accepted to have checked as the Air Canada staff seemed desperate to check our carry ons on a full flight to Toronto from Montreal. I ended up spending the night in the Vancouver airport without access to my luggage."

Cons: "Some of it was air canada, some of it was weather and some of it was the montreal airport. scheduled for 6:00 rescheduled 7:00 rescheduled 8:00 boarded 8:30 took off 10:00 1. air caanda - boarded the plane, then came on with announcement that we would be sitting on tarmac for an 1.5 hours. We were delayed for hour and half already, why load us and make us sit in a warm aircraft. Air Canada offered us 10.00 vouchers for dinner... problem was they did it so late nothing was open. It should have been done earlier. 2. weather - caused the initial problem in NYC, no fault of air canada. 3. Montreal airport - Our gates were switched 3 times during the delays. Which happens, however the gate changes started at one end of the airport, moved to the other end of the airport and back to the original end."

Cons: "Each chair didn't have a tv. There weren't any plugs to keep electronics charged up."

Cons: "One of my three flights was unnecessarily delayed by two hours, enough that I missed my last connection and had to stay overnight in Vancouver. There were no technical complications or weather complications. It was simply because something had been misscheduled and the flight crew needed a longer rest time between flights. This is completely avoidable, and the attendent who checked me in even said so. While the hotel and shuttle were paid for, Air Canada only gave me a $7 breakfast voucher, which was only redeemable at the hotel's measly breakfast counter rather than anywhere in the airport. For the unnecessary delays I had to deal with, i should had received more credit. This was an utterly disappointing travel experience."

It took me almost 45 minutes to convince them that I don't need a visa a finally was allowed to check in"

Cons: "The 6 1/2 hour flight from Montréal CANADA to San Francisco, CA USA, is considered a "shared border flight," which means 1) you pay $25 for your first checked bag, $35 for the next, and $100 for subsequent bags. The food is horrible and the type you'd expect on a puddle jumper from NY to Boston. Clearly Air Canada executives are aware that Canada and the US are separate countries. This is just an attempt to gouge the consumer. Unfortunately Air Canada is the only Airline I can fly out of Montreal so I'm stuck with them. : ("

Pros: "The plane was nice and spacious. A CA agent stationed by customs helped about five of us get to the front of the line, so we'd make our next flight."
Cons: "1. After playing 20 questions at the check-in kiosk, it was unable to print our documents. 2. So we played 20 questions again and the second machine failed to check us in. 3. The flight was delayed about an hour (due to weather, not your fault), so our connection was tight. We alerted the agent at the gate (along with several others). She didn't help at all. She just told us to go to the gate. Well, we had to go through customs, so that wasn't helpful. What we were asking is if she could alert the gate agents at the next flight that we were running as fast as we could. 4. So five of us get to the next gate as they're paging us that the doors are closing. 5. Our bags didn't make the flight, which wasn't unexpected, but it was worrisome when the agent at our final destination told us she couldn't tell where they were."

Cons: "Air Canada failed to transfer my bag from flight 1 to connecting flight 2. This not only happened to me but to other people traveling on the same connecting flight as well. My bag was delivered later then the promised time, it was also returned damaged. It is now almost one week since I have taken my flight and I am unable to process a claim because they have not updated my file via their Bag Tracer program. It is clear that they still have a lot of work to do to be considered a real commercial air line company"

Pros: "Nothing in particular stood out in Montreal or the flight to Boston, as better than average...meh"
Cons: "Our Swiss crew told us over the loudspeaker several times that "even if connecting we still need to get our luggage" which turned out to be false as our luggage was transferred to the Boston bound plane automatically... We were ushered out as a group to a connection security check which required electronic kiosks to be used for scanning our passports photos and fingerprints... They fraught with malfunctions then after waiting in line for s while we did the whole check all over again with s human security agent in s booth... There were only 2 security agents in the booths as well but there really needed to be several more to keep the line moving quicker... After security we walk directly out to departures but no mention of baggage claim, which was fine had we not been misinformed by Swiss initially... We ended up inquiring several times with SirCsnsda staff until it was clear Swiss had misinformed us."

Cons: "Agents at boarding desk were not courteous at all and did not have a helpful attitude towards questions and solutions requested by me, it was well below expectations."

Cons: "On the way back from Quebec City to Montreal we were asked to check our carry-ons as luggage, because "there is no room' on the plane. It was an empty flight. ALL overhead compartments were empty. Both flights - Quebec to Montreal and Montreal San Francisco were late. As the result, we have to spend 1.5 hours in the baggage claim area, because "there are no baggage agents in SFO available". THAT WAS THE WHOLE REASON WE ONLY HAD CARRY-ONS! By far, one of the worst flight experience in the last 10 year."

Cons: "After waiting 30 minutes after our boarding time, I got an email on my phone saying the gate had changed. No one at the current gate knew anything about it and I went to ask but no one could be found. I asked a man sitting behind the gate, who happened to be the pilot, and he also knew nothing about it. Needless to say, the gate changed and absolutely nobody was told about it. 2 hours later, our flight finally took off, and I was thanked by the pilot for getting us to the right gate... At least he provided a little humor to the situation! Plane also wasn't cleaned, pretzels and trash all over the floor."

Cons: "One hour delay, which was very tiring for someone who already had gone through the 9 hour flight torture from Athens. The Global Entry for US bound passengers procedure is very confusing. Maybe it would help if the steps were communicated on the US bound passengers before disembarking. First the passport process (easy) then there is this confusing process where we need to see our names in green on the screen, with some staff telling us to move on while others insist that we need to stay back and wait for our names to go green on screens that keep changing. Good idea and intentions to help clear bags, and can be improved. Overall the Montreal to DC flight (with the exception of the awful Montreal airport and the long delay) was excellent."

Pros: "aircraft was large and there was one nice stewardess that tried to help us figure out which way to go and if we would make our connection"
Cons: "it was delayed causing us to panic because we had a connecting flight and had a long walk from gates . There is no one to help you find your way or tell you which way to go also we had to go through several long lines even though we had already done security twice"

Cons: "The fact that because I was late for my flight, my reservation was cancelled. I was not given the opportunity to change my flight at all, I just lost out on the return portion of my travel. I would have been willing to pay a fee to change my return, but not given the opportunity. Had I booked directly with the airline, they would have had no problem making a change. Buyer beware!!! If you don't book directly with an airline, you may suffer the same fate as me! This was an almost $1,300 dollar learning experience. Do not use third party online booking agents! You do not have the same protections as dealing with the airlines directly."

Cons: "Delayed by 45 minutes, but there were no official announcements or information from Air Canada until boarding started. As usual, Air Canada does not seem to respect it's clients enough to bother informing of information regarding their flights."

Cons: "The boarding crew did a poor job of giving direction. In spite of the fact that boarding by zone was not specified, I was reprimanded by staff for boarding when I did. I found it very disrespectful that the staff reprimanded me for their own error. When I pointed out that they had not called a zone the ground staff lied and said they had called the zone. I strongly recommend staff receive remedial customer service training. This was an incredibly negative experience - not to mention undermined the otherwise decent experience that the Air Canada flight team provided."

Cons: "AIR CANADA charged departure time after original reservation was made for our return trip to a later time that was inconvenient that resulted in a hardship driving for ( senior citizens) arriving home after a 4 hour drive from the airport to Ocala, FL.home arriving at 1 AM."

When we started boarding, I noted someone else was sitting on my seat (1D) with his own boarding pass with 1D written. United crew politely asked if the gentlemen was willing to move to 6B, which his original seating in the system but he refused to do so. We' also personally explained to him that if he can yield the seat so that our family could sit together due to my wife's medical condition but he would not cooperate. I noted Those gentlemen on 1D and 1C are either buddies or coworkers. The crews were looking at each other without offering a solution. I ended up telling the crew that I could sit on 6B so that the plane can leave. The departure time was 20 min late u related my seating issue and de-icing took another 40 min. I am a Global Service member and I am very unhappy about the way the whole situation was created and handled by United."

Cons: "Flight was canceled and there were no other flights that day."

Pros: "Crew were good, flight not too noisy and was thankfully quite full but not complete."
Cons: "Poor food and food choices. Poor choices for in-flight movies and tv (was much better on the SFO -> Frankfurt leg)"

Pros: "The flight crew was courteous and efficient."
Cons: "The boarding time lasted an hour as the front desk staff at the gate insisted that I needed a visa travel document for my connection in China (multiple leg journey). What they failed to realize is that nobody needs a visa for China if they’re connecting in transit. It took a phone call and 3 staff members to sort things out. Not something that I want to deal with at 5:00 am. Moreover, due to the de icing, the flight was late and i just made it to my connecting flight in Newark. It was quite a hair-raising experience overall."

Cons: "Smoke on the plane crazy delay"

Pros: "Boarding goes quick, nice seats in economy comfort"
Cons: "No free food besides pretzels on an almost 8 hour flight. Any decent seat is an upchaege to economy plus. WiFi slow, only can access entertainment if you have app download on phone."

Pros: "On time"

Pros: "Seats were very roomy and pilot did a great job!. Boarding went great!"
Cons: "We were stuck on tarmac but this was weather related. No gluten free snacks. Some crew was nice others less so."

Cons: "It was a long delay, which meant I missed my connection at O'Hare even though I had a 3 hour window."

Cons: "Flight was 4 hours late. The seat was so small, I could not open the tablet (folding tablet in armrest). I am 6" tall and medium built. That tablet can only fit a kid"

Cons: "The flight was delayed. Missed connection. United did not pay for hotel even though there were no more flights for the evening. Could only get me on a flight the next afternoon late. I had to buy a ticket to get home in the morning, no food voucher given, had to pay for something to eat, and again had to pay for a hotel or would have had to sit through the night and all day Sunday Waiting for a flight 24 hours later for the next flight. Very bad service."

Cons: "Our flight was an hour and a half late. The seats are very new on this configuration is perfect. The entertainment system is old and you pay for everything."

Pros: "Crew were friendly and helpful"
Cons: "Seats are very tight. Entertainment depends on bringing your own ipad or laptop and using the United system. Movies tended to be oldies. Food is 10 pretzels. Count them."

Cons: "I was put on an Air Canada flight and sat on the tarmac for almost THREE hours in MTL. Finally took off and am stuck in Toronto overnight. Air Canada was very unhelpful. I have to sleep in the airport. No food vouchers. Sucks."

Cons: "Poor communication on gate change. Delay on flight boarding, and there were issues with engine. Stuck on the tarmac with no AC, they had us off-boarded since everyone was sweating. Reboarded after, no AC still until takeoff. Delayed more than two hours- this was last flight, and caused me to miss connection flight. Was supposed to arrive in final destination at 11pm that night- ended up getting there at 9:40AM next day."

Cons: "Small child in the seat in front of us wouldn't quiet down on the red eye flight. More delays on this flight due to a maintenance issue."

Cons: "Delay caused us to miss last flight of day. We have been sleeping on floor of airport for 9 hours. Same thing happened in the beginning of the trip from dallas to chicago. Oh, it was our honeymoon!"

Cons: "United delayed the flight. This information became available about an hour in advance- well after we drove two hours (We live in Montana) to get to the airport. The attendants said / not our problem. I called United's Customer Service number to discuss ways of mediating the delay that resulted in us missing the wedding venue and entire reason we booked the $1400 flight. I again got a "not my problem" response- no the flights can be modified, no we will not provide vouchers, no we really don't care that our poor quality and service cost you and your family tremendously in time, effort, and lost memories. I know we are at the mercy of airlines, but what a painful disappointment. My experience with Delta has been better and I suggest avoiding United Airlines if other flight options exist.... Even consider a very long drive over the use of the airline."

Pros: "Never on Air Canada again. Food was miserable. They literally told me that they ran out of food (on the flight from Montreal to Casablanca). No kidding. They told us that the flight was full and no more food was available! When we asked for water, they did not bring water. I am not sure if they were out of water because the flight was full! That would be something! Bathrooms were not usable. Utterly dirty. My six-year old daughter refused to use the bathrooms. Water was flowing and the smell was horrible. They should clean that. I can go on but what is the point???"
Cons: "The list would be too long. So, what did I like is a better question in this case. Honestly, I am not even sure if I liked anything. I mean some people were nice, but why? Do I expect people to be rude? I mean, I need to like something extraordinary, something that others don't do. I can't remember anything remarkable. Just nothing."

Pros: "After getting on the flight to sit down and have three children sitting behind me, kicking my seat instantly, the sweet female flight attendant was quick to make accommodations to change my seat. I was moved closer to the front (bonus) and also put in an emergency exit row (extra leg room? Double bonus) I was very happy with the service given by the attendants"
Cons: "Nothing other than the snack mix for free snacks. Peanuts were surely missed!"

Cons: "Zero leg room. I am 5' 9'' and my knees touched the seat in front of me. The bathroom lines extended half way down the plane for the majority of the flight."

Cons: "My flight was cancelled. When I called United I was in hold for an hour only to be told that my airline was not United but Air Canada. When I called air canada I was on hold for another 45 minutes. They rescheduled my flight for another day. I lost one day of my vacation."

Pros: "The crew were professional"
Cons: "The worst thing is that they schedule a CRJ-70 on this flight. This would be tolerable if the obvious alternative was a turboprop, as if Montreal were a small town, like Flin Flon. But it is not; it is a large and important city, and it stinks that the demand is so low that airlines must use small aircraft on these routes. Is it because Canadian taxes are so high on airlines that fares in turn must be high and not stimulate demand? I can't think of any other reason connecting cities this size would be on crappy little aircraft rather than on at least an A320/737 family aircraft. The problem is that there is not enough room in the overhead bins to fit rollaboards, even small ones like mine. So they have to "gate check" the bag, which does not always reappear at the gate at the destination. Less bad than the choice of aircraft was the fact that after we pushed back, they couldn't get an engine started, so they cancelled the flight and reaccommodated us on a later flight."
