Re booked on a different flight , that one was delayed with no new time , with a threat that that flight would be cancelled , we were booked on a 3rd flight , to Toronto to connect to a delta flight to Atlanta . We were told that delta would give us our boarding pass to Atlanta at the delta desk in Toronto. At delta in Toronto we were advised that there were no available seats on the flight we were supposed to be booked on . Delta booked us to Detroit then on to Atlanta . Trip delay was over 9 hours and lots of stress and run around . Very disappointed with west jet . We have always used west jet and this was the first time we felt we were given very poor service .causing a very long and stressful day , arriving at our destination 9 hours later than planned , resulting in a 24 hour exhausting travel day."

Someone drove to Dulles from Va Beach with my car keys -- i was called sunday nite that bag arrived.and would be fedex'd 2-day which put arrival at Wed 8/17/16. Still not here on 8/20/16. Sad and disappointed at how botched the return trip was."

Cons: "I bought my round trip ticket from DC to Paris via Toronto since March 2016. But the flight back from Toronto to DC was overbooked and I got bumped off the flight. The agents were severely understaffed and had no information about the situation. Also, when I finally got the flight back to DC, my luggage was lost."

Cons: "Air Canada shares a trait with many other incompetent organizers: everything is fine if nothing goes wrong, but there are no contingency plans in place in case something goes wrong. So, things get more and more delayed. Can't you predict roughly when the plane is going to land (once it is in the air!) and arrange for some gate to be open, so that we don't have to sit on the ground for 45 minutes once it has landed, for example? People who know how to organize are ordinarily capable of doing that. Furthermore, the lack of transparency is really frustrating: we just sit on the tarmac with no indication of how long we're going to be there, and the estimates of the delays are completely wrong when we're given them."

Cons: "Our flight originating in Halifax was 1.5 hours delayed and we knew there was no way we would make our connecting flight in Toronto with a 40 min window to pass through customs, US immigration, and reenter security into the US bound F gates. We requested to be rebooked for early the following day to avoid being stranded in Toronto. Acknowledging it was unlikely we could make the connection, the staff told us that because the computer didn't list it as a "missed connection", they could not take any steps to rebook us. Of course, we missed the connection and were stranded for an entire 24 hours in Toronto with two small children."

Then our flight was delayed 3 separate times, first 2 hours, then another hour, then another hour. The seats on the plane were made for children. Luckily it was only a 1 1/2 hour flight."

Cons: "Due to lack of available options to get to ANY DC area airport before the evening the day after we were supposed to arrive, I accepted going to Philadelphia. That flight was also delayed. From there I rented a car and got home at 3 a.m. instead of 9:45 p.m., about when we would have gotten home on the original flight. If we had waited for the next available flight to the DC area, it would have arrived some time after 2:48 p.m. the day after we were supposed to arrive. I know this because I was told this was the fastest route to DC--before the same Air Canada agent then told me that it was no longer available. A dreadful experience."

Took awhile but managed to walk to the luggage, but had to sit for half hour with the pain in my legs.....No thank you Air Canada, next tine it will be different air lines....."

Cons: "Our flight from Halifax to Los Angeles via Toronto should have left at 3:15 on Sunday so that we could arrive back in Los Angeles by 10:14 pm. Instead the flight was delayed and left 200 people stranded and waiting in line for customer service. Because I did not have cell service in Canada, I was forced to wait 2 hours in line only to have the agent at the counter make me talk to an agent on the phone. Prior to that, we were shocked that one of the only two agents at the counter left the counter to talk to people in line behind us instead of servicing the customers first come first serve. When I asked him to please return to the counter to help the next person in line, he mumbled that that was not what he wished to do. Meanwhile, all flights out of Toronto were fully booked that night. The delayed flight finally left at 1:30 am. Had Air Canada notified its customers about the 10 hour delay, we could have spent that time in Halifax. Both my husband and I were very disappointed in how AC handled the whole situation. Both the counter agents and the phone agent were unhelpful in offering us options."

Pros: "My Flight was canceled without us getting any notification and causing major delays and headaches with NO offer for compensation to help e.g. with a $70 taxi we had to incur to get from DCA to IAD. Poor service"

Cons: "After 12-hour flight from Tokyo, found flight to Dulles cancelled, with no adequate passenger assistance. Few staff to deal with issues and no familiarity with DC airports, IT support for the few staff available was poor. At re-booked flight gate, the area service desk unattended for an hour; finally found a helpful ground crew who said they are on break and got staff to service the desk, albeit grudgingly. Several flights delayed, in the horrible Gates F-84-99 area; confusion reigned supreme. Staff needs to understand that Dulles is way west of DC and BWI is way NE, so getting re-routed from Dulles to BWI is MAJOR change in ground transportation options and distances. Also need to update IT programming so staff can use it easily without long waits and calls for help. and some air conditioning in the F 84-90 gates area would be nice. Horrible situation--not enough seating, only service in whole area is one bagel shop."

Cons: "First off the the plane was mid takeoff and stopped which terrified the passengers and crew. Then we learned the plane had technical issues which lead to a 50 minute delay, then air canada did nothing as in terms of compensation. My audio jack for the entertainment system was broken, seat 19F on flight 617 by the way... Then I got up to use the washroom and when I came out I had to wait 30 minutes at the back of the plane standing until the servers were done serving drinks and snacks/food. Then the landing was terrifying as the plane was swooping/shaking much more than normal, even the board crew looked a bit worried. Could NOT wait to be done of the flight, one of my worst ever."

However it was obvious that AirCanada didn't care about the passenger time or valued it...instead of flying 3 empty flights they cancelled our flight and maximize capacity on the other planes...not happy we didn't get any voucher and we wasted 4 hours of our time and didn't have dinner until 1 am"

Cons: "The baggage checkin was awful. The boarding check in was awful. The security check in was awful. The customs check in was awful. Understaffed and inefficient. The baggage conveyor backed up. The same staff that checked in our baggage was the same person who then ran upstairs to check us in at gate and it was all hand done and not computer scanned. No check in kiosks to make ticket checkin faster. Lines were all backed up and I barely made flight and my connection. Many either missed flights it connection or plane was held up to get people to flights. The lady at customs check in was good trying to handle the back ups but the shrine was severely backed up and understaffed. The pilots made good time and handle the turbulence well. Staff on board did well with timing of food and drinks Entertainment on board was awful. Didn't find out until on board on 8 hour international flight that needed an iPad with downloaded app for entertainment and therefore I had three kids that had nothing to do. Never did I have such an issue with an international flight that was so poorly managed. So disappointed."

Cons: "We were told to check in via the electronic procedure and wait for our name to be listed on a board.. After waiting an hour and a half we were finally directed to the United counter and were able to complete the transfer and go to the gate."

I contacted Air Canada who said that they couldn't do anything about it, they only allow claims for lost baggage. I was heartbroken, and there is nothing Air Canada can do about securing passengers baggage from thieves. Very disappointed with the lack of support with this issue."

Cons: "I was disappointed by a few things... 1. The staff didn't much care to be there. They seemed distant and unconcerned, although their words were supportive. I just got off a flight from Seoul to SF, with United (892) and they admittedly stated that they were understaffed (which was completely fine) and their attitudes were much more supportive than that of the following team (486), a flight from SF to IAD. 2. I was surprised, that on a 5hr flight, they only offered a half bag of mixed items and two rounds of beverages. I was sure that they would feed us something. However, if it's not the policy, I get it...but I asked if they had anything I could purchase, the flight attendant points me to the menu pamphlet and says that I could choose from there. I asked for the Chilled Chicken with Slaw and she promptly lets me know that they only have cheeseburgers, a protein box and Cheese. For a person who's lactose intolerant, I was again disappointed by the service--why ask me to go to the menu, if you knew there were only three items you were offering?? So I didn't order anything. 3. The entertainment blows my mind. I've flown with you guys like 8 times this year, and the app still does not work properly, however, before every flight, someone mentions over the intercom to be sure to download the app...but if it doesn't work...why offer it? Also, if there are tvs at the back of every headrest, the least you could offer is a random movie, versus the commercials about how great the app is, or whatever was scrolling along. Lastly, please note, I was trying to figure out a way to make a comment to United...but didn't want to sound TOOO disgruntled. I'm not opposed to flying with UA, absolutely not, but if any of these things are addressed, I definitely feel you will be making a massive improvement on what seems to be an airline that I'd think twice about taking. Feel free to e-mail or call me. I don't mean to sound rude...but having flown other airlines, and knowing that UA has been around for a while, i just hoped the experience would be better."

I could not sit without my knees jammed into the seat in front of me, and on both legs, Ithe seats were narrow that the people next to me and I were overlapping shoulders - that was a first. Cons: "They could not get the sky way to work AND we had to take the Dulles bus then escalators then train then escalators and still a fair amount of walking and waiting to get to ground transport-- 1 hour from landing!"

Pros: "They boarded is quickly"
Cons: "Plane was delayed on runway for over an hour. When the passenger next to me asked the lead flight attnd about her connecting flight the attnd was extremely rude and of no help. Any ? was answered with "well just look at your united airways app". Then later I asked what gate we were coming in on and her reply was "the capt just said it". I replied saying "sorry I didn't hear it" and again the flight attnd answered "look on your UA app". I don't usually fly UA so I didn't have it. Overall she was short, snarky and rude with ever reasonable question asked. No one was rude to her but her attitude was shocking. I travel quite often and have never seen an antd speak or act this way to passengers. I understand things get stressful, but I def won't be flying UA again if this is the way they allow flight attnds to speak to customers. She way beyond rude and lazy and I hope the girl she was training doesn't pick up those traits either."

Pros: "United made arrangements for me because of the flight delays"
Cons: "The first flight was delayed 4 hours so United got me a taxi to Dulles to catch my next flight. It worked but then that flight was delayed one hour."

Pros: "We were well compensated for a traveling fiasco. Our plane died in Newark. Our new plane wasn't big enough for 12 of us. It was a pretty crummy to spend Easter Sunday at the airport while our entire family celebrated the holiday. I do really appreciate the travel certificates we received for our trouble."
Cons: "As I stated above, we were stuck at the airport for the duration of Easter Sunday. We were supposed to be home by 1:30pm. Kind of a bummer to have wasted the entire holiday; but I guess that's what you get for traveling on holidays."

Pros: "I liked that your beverages are complimentary"
Cons: "1 ply toilet paper is unexeptable"

Cons: "I paid the 25.00 for my small bag which could have easily been a carry on, but I had a purse and small carry bag. I felt that WAY too many folks had backpack and two small carry ones, but by bringing them to the gate - the announcement was made its a full flight so you can check your bag for FREE! Next time, I will not follow the rules and just simply check at gate?? That is message loud and clear from your gate folks."

Pros: "Loved the fact that there was leg room !!"

Cons: "cancelled flight. Broken plane."
