The worst experience is the online checking before hand: unclear, and hard to call to clarify, waiting more than 30 minutes on hold and I gave up! The checking line @ LAX airport was sooooooooooo long 3 hrs before boarding already! Luckily I have gold card from UA , the staff helped me checking in quickly ,skipping the long line. All the staff at the counter are friendly and helpful, they told me I needed to use Taiwan passport to check into the CDC system for Covid-19 with iPhone, otherwise the system won’t accept….. that’s why I didn’t complete online checking. Selecting English and using Taiwan passport info may speed up the calling process( I guess). It was a full loaded flight, but the flight attendants are friendly and helpful, appreciated their professionalism! Even after arrival, there was a long line for SIM card in Taiwan taoyuan airport, that’s a different story for CDC…took hrs to get into the checking in point, from there on , it was a breeze……

We were stopped before security and Cathay Pacific decided it was the perfect opportunity to charge us $400 for a rebooking instead of amending the name, which we had entered correctly in the first place. We were pushed back and forth between kayak and cathay when kayak told us they weren't able to change the name on the day of the flight. Will never fly cathay or book from kayak again."

We were shocked as crew was so organized getting us (people) to connecting flight in Hong Kong. Woman met us at gate and personally led us to connection gate. Only a few gates down in same terminal. In case you're curious: not that we expect Michelin star dining, but the food is dismal. Some of the worst airline food ever. It's like pure sodium + tastes very much like the aluminum can it surely came out of."
