Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "New airbus 350-390 are worst than older planes. Economic class space is even smaller now, no storage space for the last few rows"
Cons: "Last 3-5 central rows in economy class have no space for carryons. On top of that, at arrival we realized they have lost our bagage, all 6, so we’re left with carryons. This may be our very last trip with Lufthansa."
Pros: "Nothing at all."
Cons: "A 1 hour flight, delayed. Meant I missed my entire flight and stayed I Ottawa International for 8 joirs"
Pros: "The seat was fine for economy"
Cons: "You should offer free wifi! Air Canada should lead the way and be above the rest!"
Pros: "The crew was friendly and tried to provide a good service."
Cons: "Wider seats and more leg room. The return trip from Ottawa to Vancouver was over $1200. I think that’s quite pricey given that any food or alcoholic beverage had to be purchased at an extra cost."
Cons: "There was no coffee or tea available on the flight"
Cons: "No snacks unless you are willing to pay more than 10 dollars lol"
Pros: "short pleasant experience"
Cons: "baggage check is always complicated .they make a big deal over small items"
Pros: "The plane was confortable and the drive also"
Cons: "The waiting time at the Toronto airport was exagerated"
Pros: "Great service from flight attendants. Flight was smooth once airborne"
Cons: "Delayed Flight Seats seemed very small for an Air Canada Plane"
Pros: "MIGHT give me a refund, and not WILL give me a refund"
Cons: "Service personnel at Air Canada were very helpful and re-booked me several times and when none of those flights left, they said they would refer me to refund department."
Cons: "For some reason we were forced to check our luggage (standard curry-ons) however it would completely fit to ovehead bins. Also waiting area were completely cut-off from Duty-Free shops - as soon as you passed security - no access to shopping area."
Pros: "Not a lot"
Cons: "It took two air hostesses two hours to service the entire cabin. There is a training issue. I would not fly air canada again."
Pros: "Long slow lines. Insufficient signage for US Global Entry. Too few and slow US Customs. Largest plane ever flown to Florida from Northeast."
Pros: "Pilot apologized that the entertainment system was down. Then suggested we turn back 10 years and do it the old way by reading a book or magazine to pass the time."
Cons: "Flight delayed by 2 hours"
Pros: "Staff were incredibly kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. I need wheelchair assistance and they handled that beautifully, asking thoughtful questions about my needs and adapting their plans to my answers. They also helped me with stowing my carry-on since I would have struggled alone."
Cons: "Unfortunately, through no fault of the flight crew or gate crew, we got one of the few remaining planes in the fleet that are so old that they can't fit a full carry-on bag in the overhead bins or under the seats. Larger carry-on items had to be checked through to final destination, which made a lot of passengers upset -- either because they were business people who needed to be able to work on the flight, or they had important baby gear in there that they would need before that, or they were traveling far away using multiple airlines and were rightly worried about lost luggage."
Pros: "A few turbulents just before landing but great flight crew."
Pros: "Flight was smooth and pilot was knowledgeable"
Cons: "My tv screen didn't have sound !"
Pros: "The flight was on time!!"
Cons: "I find over the past 25 years that I have been flying with Air Canada the customer service has really went to the dumps !!! Every body is rude and don't understand why."
Pros: "Normal flight, short, nothing special about it to mention."
Pros: "Rouge flights are not comfortable no room for your legs and on a four and half flight very uncomfortable. Soft drinks are free but not even a bag of nuts."
Cons: "Not so bad..."
Pros: "We were upgraded to business class and received wonderful service by all crew members."
Cons: "My seat partner had a dog with her. I like dogs but it was more of a irritant and distraction, didn't seem that nice for the dog either. What happened to the pretzel/nut snacks?"
Pros: "Efficient boarding"
Cons: "The headphone jack on my seat was broken which for a 5.5 hour flight is quite difficult. The only compensation the air flight attendant offered was a glass of wine, which I couldn't drink due to being on medication. I had purchased 3 meals and 2 snacks so she could have comped one of them. This is the second time I experienced this on Air Canada with little to no appropriate service recovery. I had my iPad~an offer of free wii fii would have also been an option"
Pros: "It was a short flight and there was entertainment on board."
Cons: "Missed my original flight due to the delay in the flight from Newark. Had to be placed on standby and this was the third available flight to Toronto I got on. Boarding took forever for some reason. People were in line for at least half an hour so they gave out free earphones to compensate. Otherwise you'd have to purchase it."
Cons: "Air Canada staff appear to wear their job dissatisfaction on their sleeves. They don't smile enough and often when they do its to each other like there's an inside joke we don't know about."
Cons: "On a 4+ hour flight, I was really surprised that there were no snacks or food included in the ticket; only paid "cafe" options."
Pros: "Good boarding routine, I liked that you told people to wait their turn to board. Good entertainment options. We made it safe and sound."
Cons: "Was seated next to a crying/screaming baby for the duration of the flight (5.5 hours). Also was never offered any snacks (cookies or crackers). Landing was rougher then expected."
Pros: "My connecting flight to Yoronto was very late and I missed this flight. air Canada was awful. My last trip with this airline."
Pros: "- plane had more legroom than the usual - plane left and landed on time, an always welcome outcome for an AC flight - in flight movie selection was good"
Cons: "- plane was overbooked, and boarding took a while - staff only offered drink refreshments (ex. coke, coffee, etc) once, rather than the usual twice. The other time they just came by with water, which the flight attendant accidentally over-poured and spilled some on the middle passenger between me and the attendant. Good thing it was only water... - more turbulence than usual, but out of the control of the pilot"
Pros: "The flight crew went advice and beyond to help look after our two kids (ages 2 and 4). It was a full flight but they were the only children on board."
Cons: "Baggage fees and leg room."
Cons: "Audio jack for entertainment weren't working."
Cons: "Flight was delayed forced us to stay in Ottawa an extra night. Only compensation we received was a $10 meal voucher!!"
Pros: "Airlines keep the cabin too cold. On the domestic of the travel leg blankets were for additional pay which is crazy - I understand about meals, but blankets are required only because the conditions offered by the airline are uncomfortable. One luggage was lost, but that is now almost part of travel."
Pros: "The plane was very new. Had a great entertainment system. Power plug ins. USB plug ins. Seats were a bit small, but when are they not?"
Cons: "They forgot to bring me dinner then when I finally got someone's attention they told me they had given away ALL the dinners. How is that even possible? In the end they gave me a first class meal so not bad."
Cons: "Very slow service"
Cons: "Air Canada as well as WestJet charge exuberant amounts for local flights. They offer services and leg room of a budget airline while charging prices at the top range of a regular airline. Lack of proper competition in Canada allows Air Canada and WestJet to charge whatever they want since there are no other real options"
Pros: "Leaving and never coming back!"
Cons: "Psychotic and delusional crew that take bad customer service to a whole new level!"
Cons: "IFE and food were awful. Space was cramped, lights left on for a night flight. AirCanada headphone rules are just dumb."
Pros: "Movies!! Newer plane too."
Pros: "Staff mice"
Cons: "Delayed , causing delays and missed apt at destination"
Pros: "Crew was courteous and efficient."
Pros: "Had extra legroom but paid for it"
Pros: "Decent service."
Cons: "I paid 100$ for my seat, for more leg room. It happened that the seat next to me was unoccupied. I thought it would give me an opportunity to stretch out a bit to sleep on the Atlantic crossing. Another passenger's tv didn't work so one of the stewardess told him he could sit next to me. He got more leg room for free. I was cramped and could not sleep because of muscle spasm. The Legal age made it more comfortable but it is not worth 100$"
Pros: "Direct service is nice! Clearing customs in Ottawa makes life easier."
Cons: "Buttery pretzels in both directions that are way too buttery. Crew is never overly happy to be there."
Pros: "I was very kindly provided an upgrade and seat beside was empty, it was a great flight. thank you!"
Cons: "i was not able to travel with my spouse. the seat allocation process did not allow me to set this up prior to the flight or at the airport"
