We had only 1 suitcase allthough we were with 2 persons, and could have had 2 suitcases. Our 1 suitcase was however considered as 1 with overweight. We had to move 8 kg to our cabin luggage. That is absurd. Erik

Child meals are too sweet, my kids ended up eating my salads, and part of my meal, because they didn't like their food. On the flight from US, kid's meal had 3 chocolate bars on top of other sweet things, which is too much. Give kids fruit bowl instead. I will not order child meal again."

Cons: "We booked our group of four with Lufthansa, paying $300 more than equivalent flights on competing airlines, specifically because our 20 month old daughter fits within Lufthansa's age, height, and weight limits for using the bassinet. We have reserved our tickets and the bassinet over two months in advance, paying $35 extra per seat for these reservations, and even got an email that specifically stated "bassinet confirmed". On the flight, when it came time to install the bassinets, the flight attendant came to us, took a look at our daughter, and said that she will not fit in the bassinet, that she is too tall, and too heavy, and suggested that we should have checked the limits for the bassinet before coming on the flight. When we inquired as to the actual limits, she could not provide any numbers, only said that she could see that our daughter is too big for it. When the family next to us got their bassinet, it became very obvious that our daughter would fit in the bassinet, and we pointed out that she was well below the height and weight limits published on the Lufthansa website. Only then did the flight attendant admit that there were other babies on the flight, and they only had four bassinets on the plane, despite having 11 slots where bassinets could be installed. Our reservation months in advance did not matter - we did not get the bassinet. As compensation, we were offered some Lufthansa miles, or 50 euros for in-flight duty free shopping. However, we lost close to 1000 dollars as a group when we chose to fly Lufthansa rather than a less expensive airline. We were very uncomfortable throughout the flight, having to hold my daughter in my arms for over five hours. We are are still very upset that the crew blatantly lied to us."

Pros: "The customer service phone number was impossible to get through on in order to take to someone within 24 hours of my flight in order to make my Special Meals request as I have Celiac's Disease. I was unable to make this selection at booking as when you book through a third party like Expedia, which I did, you cannot access the same internal tools required to make that selection. You can ONLY then call once you have checked in before the flight in order to let the airline know of your Special Meal needs. This is not only a terrible policy as it undercuts those who ARE ultimately still buying tickets to their airline, and that the airline is CHOOSING to sell. It provided me with an extremely subpar experience of the airline but left up to the last minute with doubts about my ability to board a 13 he international flight without the reassurance that I would have ANY meals aboard and no other options should that be the case. Right before my flight departed I was reassured that the information we had requested Expedia relay to the airline internally the day before, who we called when we couldn't get through to the airline, WAS able to convey this Special Meal request and I was going to have food on the flight, so I then did not purchase a bunch of snacks in the airport to have as options. The first meal in, no Special Meal was provided and I had to explain then entire situation all over again. They assured me they would figure it out and get me taken care of. However, no one who assisted me conveyed this to anyone else on the flight and every time food was dispersed, same situation. This was stressful and exhausting and the options provided me were modified to be gluten free, such as an entire plate of fruit for my snack, instead of the protein heavy snack everyone else received, because there truly wasn't extra for that type of dietary restriction. This was stressful and I was very hungry on the flight. One of the attendants got me a few chunks of cheese from first class, but otherwise, it wasn't great. I would advise travelers with Special Meal requests NOT to fly with AirCanada."

Pros: "ANA crew were cute, polite and kind. They even put me on an earlier flight. I'm glad it was operated by ANA, one of the world's best airline."
Cons: "Everything went so smoothly with my ANA flights. Nothing to complain."
Cons: "No vegetarian options were available for dinner or snack. Crew was extremely rude when I inquired about it, and I was not promoted to select a vegetarian option when I purchased my ticket. The breakfast was vegetarian friendly, but it was too disgusting to actually eat."

Cons: "I had no entertainment system for the entire 13 ½ hour flight and nothing was done"

Pros: "The plane was new and as a passenger I really felt that. Seats were more comfortable than usual, and little things like new touchscreen media players in coach and spaces to stretch your legs in were appreciated. The crew was solid, and food was decent. Video selection was surprisingly good."
Pros: "The seats were decent - not too hard and not too cramped."
Cons: "The food was awful. The entertainment system didn't work properly which is not acceptable for a 13 hour flight. The staff didn't seem to care - rarely saw them."
Cons: "Leaving late due to an electronics issue started the ball rolling for near disaster upon arrival. Warning - unless you have more than 2 hrs on the ground at Haneda, do not takes connecting flight. You have to go thru immigration, get your checked bags, customs, and beat a 45 minute cut off by the airline in order for them to recheck your bags at your arrival terminal. We missed it, had to load onto the airport shuttle bus, unload at the domestic terminal - all without any instructions given by any anyone! WAY to much stress! Friends followed us one week later. Due to a late arrival in Haneda of over an hour, they were rerouted to a different airport costing a hotel stay, the shipping of their bags, and a bus ride the next morning. In all, it cost them over $450!!!"
Pros: "The passengers on this flight were terrific. Also the new plane was very comfortable."
Cons: "After a delayed departure from JFK we had to RUN to make our connection in Toronto. I'm traveling with my wife for our honeymoon and yet we couldn't get a seat together (we'd called customer service the week before who informed the crew). The boarding experience was rushed by airport staff and the flight crew were overly abrupt with passengers on board (bathroom requests by a mom with an infant to water requests by multiple passengers)."
Pros: "The entertainment provided was pretty high-tech and there were many options for movies. The seats on the plane were comfortable."
Cons: "I particularly did not like getting kicked off of our flight because it was oversold. We missed an entire day in Japan because we could not get a flight until the next day. Likely, we will never visit Japan again so the petty "compensation" we were provided meant nothing. No amount of money can compensate for the time we missed out on in a once in a lifetime experience. All because some rich corporate airline can squeeze out as much money as possible for each flight. They don't care about the people, or the passengers, or their experiences, they only care about money. Ridiculous."
Cons: "I had arranged a domestic flight within Japan that would depart from Haneda about 2.5 hours after the Air Canada was scheduled to land there. BUT unfortunately the Air Canada flight departure was delayed for about that much time in Toronto due to mechanical issues. We were promised that Air Canada staff would be on hand in Tokyo to help those of us who would miss our connections. HOWEVER after getting to Tokyo (about the time my domestic flight was taking off) going through immigration and customs and then waiting in line to talk to Air Canada staff, they told me that since my connecting flight (an ANA flight to Miyazaki) had been booked by my son through the Skymark website, they were going to do absolutely nothing at all to help me--no help with arranging an alternative flight, no help finding a hotel room--nothing, absolutely nothing. They left me high and dry in a bad situation."
