And the JAL staff, on the ground as well as in the air, are Grade A diplomats, counselors, and -- in a word -- professionals. Which is sorely lacking in US air carriers, who don't seem to understand that air travel is a service industry, and to excel in a service industry, PEOPLE are most important to the customers. Specifically, having enough people: US airline employees are well-trained professionals too, but "corporate" consistently under-hires/deploys, which leaves employees juggling far too much at once, which degrades the service experience for the customer. Yeah, I get "the bottom line," but service industry customers will always go to businesses that offer better service. Ok, rant over. JAL is tops."

Altogether we we had a 14-hour day or so of flying with two small children and it could have easily been a 20-hour-or-more day of flying had Japan Airlines not been so great at what they do. The staff was incredibly attentive."

Cons: "Boarding this flight consisted of minimal organization on the crews behalf, the Gate's security machines were off, people scattered everywhere with not enough seats to fit everyone. When entering the gate (with security machines turned off keeping in mind everyone has already passed general airport security and is only trying to enter the gate. Staff would direct passengers towards an attempt at creating a boarding queue. Once passing the gate doors and walking towards the queue directed by staff, it seemed to be a normal occurance to have another staff memeber shout at you and redirect you another way. Getting scolded by gate employees and requested to remove all electronics turn them on and being requested to remove most clothing items at the gate while everyone is watching with security machines off while only selecting a few passengers seems to be a regular occurnace in Doha & with Qatar Airways. People standing all around, no queues were initiated by staff, instead staff would push through passengers to get to the front instead of propretly annoucing the boarding through an intercom. No matter how loud staff was screaming their sounds were drowned out by the passengers which turned boarding a full translatlantic flight into a chaotic scene. Once on the flight I noticed the headphones provided were broken, I politely requested a new pair...from 3 different employees...which took over 20 mins to replaced. Qatar Airways prides itself on quality unfortunately as an economy passenger I have yet to experience any of that other than when it comes to good on flight entertainment."

Best avoided until this has been completed. The flight was overbooked, and the cabin crew seemed stressed and very busy. As a long term frequent flyer with CX, this was a very disappointing experience."

Cons: "There were no immigration forms on board. When I asked for one, the hostess said there had been an announcent Mayybe there was one in mandarin but certainly not in english. A senior hostess cam later to apologize zaying the reason was that there were new forns since 1 Dec when leaving the plane, everyone was given old forms! All very unptofessional..."

Pros: "The crew was friendly and the flight was comfortable. There were two service representatives to take me on the golf cart from my gate in Terminal 1 when I landed to the bus departing from Terminal 2 to Terminal 4 where my connection was. It was unexpected, but saved a lot of stress based on the distance I had to travel within the airport to make the connecting flight."
Cons: "They recently moved the Cathay Pacific flights to the new Terminal 4 in Changi in Singapore. The connecting distance was significant to get from the Terminal 1 gate to the bus leaving from Terminal 2 to get to Terminal 4. Changi is usually VERY efficient, but this was a real inconvenience to not have direct transport from T1 to T4. Also, the lines for Cathay are not properly sorted by First/Business and all status frequent flyers. There were no ropes or anything organizing the queue, so there were well over 150 people lined up for the priority boarding with no clear queue. At that point, there is no priority. Time to get better organized."

Pros: "I will give 10 out of 10 to Cathay for their excellent service, fast air time, humble crew service and a bonus point for their quality of meals/ food. I am a pure vegetarian & in all my flight the crew made sure that I got the correct food tray & it was not mixed with wrong mean (non veg.) by mistake. Unlike other flight where meal is just an obligation, Cathay made sure that the taste was very nice too. Full points to them. The quality of seats was good & nice leg space as well. Overall the experiance was very pleasant & I highly recommend Cathay Pacific."

The gate agent should have been conscientious and informed us that the delay was ongoing with our flight being number 22+ on the tarmac to take off, thus guaranteeing our missed connection. They should have rebooked us on another flight from our original destination vs rebooking us upon arrival in Montreal to miss further connecting flights. Very disappointed!!!!! Based on this experience alone, never again will I or my family travel Air Canada."

Cons: "With basically all my flights on Air Canada, there were significant delays. The delays on this flight caused me to almost miss my connection. I had to run full speed to make it to the next flight, and the attendants on this flight were very terse announcing as we were landing "Do not ask us about your connections; we have no information. Do not ask us about your luggage; we have no information" With other airlines in the past, if I have had a flight delayed by an hour, the attendants have announced where I should be headed for my connection, or have called ahead to the connecting flight (if within the same airline" and asked them to wait for us. I didn't feel that AC did anything to help make up for the fact that my flights were so late. Almost ally other AC flights on this trip we're also delayed."

Cons: "My flight was first delayed, then cancelled, and there wasn't even bad weather at either airport. I still don't know why the flight was cancelled. My alternate flight had to be from a different airport and that flight was also delayed. I went from a non-stop flight to a flight with a layover... a 7 hour layover. Was not fun sleeping at the airport. On top of that, I had paid to select my seat and it wasn't honored on the flight back. Somehow I was unassigned because of the flight change during departure but I was still charged."

Cons: "No enrertsinment without downloading google app for phone or pad. Short announcement about this made shortly before flight and we did not react in time to do it. Thought I would read but overhead lights broken; complained three times before fixed."

The rebooking process was discombobulating and we ended up arriving at our destination after the rerouting that was stressful and ensured that we lost a whole day of our vacation time. Our flight back the entertainment system in our seats did not function."

Cons: "I separated from my 2 daughters and husband because they did not allow me to pick seats or check in online. I was stuck in the seat immediately in front of the stinky bathroom in a seat that didn't recline, had no hdmi charging port and was pretty much continuously crowded by bathroom-goers. In fact, so many bathroom goers grabbed the seat in front of me that they touched my movie screen about 7-8 times, causing the menu to pop up and interrupt the movie. Otherwise, the food was gross and one of the flight attendants was very grumpy."

Pros: "The flight arrived about 30 minutes early. Also, it left a little late. For me, the less time on the plane the better."
Cons: "Guy next to wanted to charge phone a laptop in USB port in front of me b/c his was our of order. This worked out OK but in a small space it's not so good. He was bare foot too. Take of your shoes but wear socks, please....Plane was not hot, actual a litter chilly."

Cons: "Our flight was over an hour late getting to the airport in Morocco and when there we were left standing in the jetway after scanning our tickets for a good 30 minutes. The flight was so delayed, many of us missed our connecting flights and had to be issued later flights. I was originally booked to fly out the next day, which would NOT have worked out but was booked instead for 5 hours later. I stood downstairs for 2 hours trying to find my baggages, however, they never came where they were supposed to come out and I received 3 different answers on where they were. "They're at carousel 5," "you don't have to get them they will be checked to your final destination," no they're at carousel 3, so you can grab quickly and recheck upstairs." My bag wasn't at any of these places. I finally found a nice air Canada agent who took the time out of his day to actually go to the back and check on my bag to which he returned 10 minutes later with it. It was just "circling around back there" with nowhere to go. Had I not been persistent, my bag would not have made it to my final destination. I wish the story ended there but it does not. After a 5 hour wait, I sat at my gate which continued to say "American Airlines" I asked the gate if United Airlines flight was still leaving from there she just stated she "had no idea" frustrated, with no gate to go to with a flight leaving in 1 hour nobody seemed to know where our new flight was boarding. After 3 gate changes we were finally able to board our flight to D.C. I am sorely disappointment in both Air Canada and the YUL system. This would be my second time flying this way and both times I have had issues. It's too bad. I do not plan on doing so again."

Cons: "1. Could not reserve seat on the return flight and still got charged for it. 2. My seat did not have the new outlet for phone jack and USB charger. I had to use old headset outlet on the arm-rest which did not work. 3. Planes delayed on both directions."

Wild goose chase sent us on a one hour, $26 train ride to Milan central station where we learned the train air canada told us to take didn't exist. The attendants messages is never clear and focus. It's like Air Canada is employing teenagers with NO work etics or professionalism. I am a frequent flyer and will NEVER flew with Air Canada again. The cheap ticket is not worth the cheap aircraft and cheap service I received."

Cons: "Over 4 hour flight. No food (not even pretzels). A few old movies. Flight delay with no communication. I only noticed when I was checking in at the kiosk and noticed that my one hour layover was now a 5 minute layover. Rebooked. When I arrived at destination, no notice that next flight was delayed, even though it was over 3 hours late. Thought I only had 1 hour to go through US immigrations and customs. Ran to the other end of the airport to be on time. Aircraft wasn't even at airport and flight was over 3 hours late. They couldn't have posted that so we didn't have to run across the airport? Changed gates, but no announcement. One other flyer was looking at the board and called out to the group waiting that there was a gate change. Left Vancouver at 8:00 am, arrived in Boston at 1:30 am. Won't fly with Air Canada again."

Cons: "My husband and I were flying to Italy, on the first leg of our flight neither of our screens worked so we had six hours with no entertainment. They gave us a card to make it up to us but (wisely) don't tell you what it is for. It turned out to be for 10% off your next flight if you book it through their website within a year. Useless. On our return flight we were delayed on the tarmac for over an hour with no air conditioning, they originally said they were waiting for a signature but then said that there was something wrong with the engines that help us take off, then the cabin filled with a fuel smell, then they said they had brought the wrong item for the repair and we were waiting for the correct one. When we finally took off my husband's screen didn't work yet again and this was a 9 hour flight. The flight attendant said that some of the screens hadn't worked for a while ( probably cheaper to hand out useless discounts than to fix them.). We received another 10% off card, which we cannot combine or transfer, again useless. We missed our connection because of the delay, they booked us on another flight but because they didn't tell us that we had to pick up our luggage or where (it was on a different carousel than the rest of the luggage from our flight) and that we had to go through customs we (and many others) missed that flight too. We finally got a flight out the next morning and they put us up at a hotel. We both had to miss another day of work and it was quite an ordeal. My husband's screen worked for almost all of that last flight before it seized up. We didn't bother to report it that time since another 10% off coupon wasn't going to do us any good. Overall it is concerning that Air Canada doesn't seem to be maintaining their planes in optimal condition and that their idea of compensation involves them making even more money from me. Never again."

Also, no one could tell us if we would have to go through security again and if we could buy any liquids in Paris duty free to bring home due to the liquid rule and going through security. Just a wildly uninformed airline (asked our crew and other AC officials) they couldn't answer a few simple questions."

Cons: "I did not like that I could not use my own ear phones to watch movies during my flight. Also they do not offer visa debit on flights so I was not able to purchase ear phones. Which made the 4.5 hour flight long. And my head rest was very uncomfortable, I am short and it pushed my head forward too much which hurt my neck. It would be nice to have the option to remove it. Also on a 4.5 hour flight they should offer free little snack like peanuts or a fruit cup."
