The entire airline industry seems to be a total disaster these days, and this flight was no different. They never posted the gate until boarding time, then bused us to the plane, a 777! We then sat on the plane for over two hours, with almost no information as to why. When they did give us information, it was an obvious lie, like saying we would be underway in 10 minutes, while being number 5 in line for deicing. I worked in the airline industry for 20 years, it takes longer than that for each plane, and a pilot would certainly know that. All in all, a 6 1/2 hour flight was 9 1/2 hours on the plane, just ridiculous! The entire time we were given little to no information as to why things weren't happening as they should. And to top it off, the pilot had the nerve to joke upon arrival into Boston that he was glad we had joined them for the short flight from London. Just what you want after 9 1/2 hours on a rock-hard seat, someone minimizing the agony you've been feeling for hours! Oh yeah, and the added time was just enough to allow the snow to start flying in Boston, which lead to multiple accidents, which made our 1 1/2-hour drive home, 3 hours, icing on the cake!
Worst airline experience of my life, depending on how the rest of my “customer service” experience goes I may never fly american airlines again.

Cons: "Was at gate onntime for flight. At boarding time passengers were informed if there was an issue with the plane and maintenance is on their way to check out the problem. 30 minutes later we were still till that maintenance is on their way. One hour later there is still no information as far as when the fight will leave but they kept updating the boarding time. There was only one person of the counter who could help re-assign passengers to different flights due to their layovers. After waiting in line for 40 minutes and the line making no movement I called the airline 1-800 hundred number and explain my situation to the American Airlines Airlines representative. they really give me a new flight that left 20 minutes later after my call if I did not call I would not mean it that flight nor any other fights that morning because they're all in the afternoon."

Pros: "Flight attendants were wonderful and very accommodating. They were pleasant, nice to talk to, and attentive to all passengers. Special assist personal were polite, pleasant and extremely helpful."
Cons: "I did not understand if I booked with British Airways why my return flight was through American Airlines. I requested special accommodations with extra leg room as a result of recent knee surgery. My seat location was in row 34, the back of the cabin. Not as pleasant. Too far to walk leg room uncomfortable at times during the 8 hour flight."
Pros: "Time in air was quicker since we left so late"
Cons: "We spent 45 minutes on the ground in miami waiting for rake off in a hot airplane with no real air. Babies were crying because of the heat and everyone was sweating and complaining."
Pros: "Crew and actual flight were great but something was broken on the rear air conditioning unit. It was a full flight and 86F in Dallas and 77F in Columbia. I was seated in rear of the plane very very hot with all the people on the plane. I felt it was difficult to breath once we were on the ground in como. We were at the gate and everyone stood up to get off but the doors remained closed for awhile. It seemed to get even hotter."

It didn't have individual screen monitor for entertainment , which I think nowadays is expected; especially for a coast to coast flight."

Cons: "We taxied on the runway for over an hour. The plane was uncomfortably hot while we taxied. They could have waited to board the flight or served drinks while we waited."
Pros: "Nice modern plane. Even though the flight was delayed, we ended up boarding earlier than expected and arrived pretty close to our original expected arrival time."
Cons: "The crew was nice and everything, but they weren't very good at making announcements on the loudspeaker. You could tell they didn't really know what they were saying or haven't practiced. One lady was trying to make a sales pitch for a new master card and you could tell she was reading and there were long pauses. My sense is that when using the loudspeaker to talk to the entire flight, one should be practiced and know what they're saying and communicate quickly and efficiently. Don't mean to be critical, but it's something that I noticed that could be improved."

The safety instruction was a mess, first it was on the big screen, totally black, only sound, then the crew started a discussion in the ail if the would do the safety instructions yes or no...in the end they did it without explanation what the were doing and in 2 minutes. Al three of them just did something. Rude and chewing gum crew, the dropped a salad bowl but not one of them was thinking about cleaning it up. The entire flight everybody walked over it in to the carpet. Friendlynes and service are two words that does not apply to this crew. From the first flight till the last flight AA made a mess out of it. Canceled our flight in JFK, no help or service, you are on your own when AA cancels a flight, after rebooking our flight we had a 7 hour stopover at Dallas, again no service, no voucher, no nothing. Then today with our return flight AA could not find our ticket numbers, turns out that when they rebooked our inbound flight they forgot to take over the return flight...cost us 2 hours and 10 minutes to check in at LGA Never, ever again with AA, even easyJet provides better service then AA does on intercontinental flight!"
Cons: "First, the original 90 minute layover became 8 hours with the old buy this scheduled ticket and 3 weeks later we will switch it to 7 hours. After a 8 hour red-eye, it was brutal. BA was an hour late taking off from London to Warsaw. The onboard experience was charge for everything. No sodas, water, nuts, etc. Oh and boarding, cmon. The gold, silver and special people go first. I think that was 5 people. The other 150 plus, you are on your own, go. You have your typical isle 5 person holding up the entire loading procedure, trying to get their oversized bag in the overhead, versus loading from the back. Wow."
Pros: "The entertainment was free on our flight and that was very nice. Watch a lot of movies iv been wanting to watch. Pilots flew the plane very well."
Cons: "We didn't have hot beverage service due to turbslsnce and the attendant never came back to offer my 84 year old mother another choice"

Pros: "We arrived safely. Flights were on time and the staff were professional and friendly even though they had to deal with awful passengers. In flight entertainment worked well."
Cons: "The boarding process is stressful. The monitors at the gate do not indicate which groups have been called and are allowed to board, so everyone just crowds up at the gate, you can't hear what's being announced and it's messy. It would be so helpful and efficient it was clearly displayed which groups have been called to board. I don't know why all airlines don't implement this. We were also made to check our carry on at the gate and when we got on the plane there was enough space in the overhead, which was a bit annoying."
