Kamloops airport is easy to navigate. Security procedures are typical but one can get through fairly quickly.
NikhilFlew with Air CanadaORD-YYZJul 2025
small flight, not much storage space as per the passengers. Try to get a booking which is Group 1 or 2 latest.

Make sure you are not connecting, passengers missed their connecting flight, timing is very important!

Quebec City is a relatively small airport, making the entire process after landing smooth and easy. With no bag checked, I was outside waiting for my ride within 5 minutes of arrival. Highly recommend as an alternative to the long drive between the two cities.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaMSP-YULMar 2025
Even with tight (< 1 hour) connection in Montreal, there was ample time to get through customs and to the next gate. Very smooth.

It’s handy to book the KLM bus service when booking your flight to Montreal.

Check if the plane you are flying out on has had the inbound prior flight delayed. Because: My flight AC157 shoed as “On Time” departure on the Air Canada and FlightAware web sites…. Yet FlightAware showed my incomming-prior plane as almost 4-hours late. I called air canada and they couldn’t do anything other than admit that seemed strange. Three hours later I got a message that my flight was in fact delayed because of the prior late departure . I had gone to thye airport early because I knew there would be a problem and got one of the pnly 4 remaining seats on the earlier flight
JamieFlew with Air CanadaYYZ-YULApr 2025
I find Air Canada has the most options but isn’t always the cheapest. The flight is quick and easy. If you can fly later at night, I would because your commute to your final destination will also be quick and easy.
VivianeFlew with American AirlinesCLT-YULMay 2025

While I understand that airlines operate as businesses, it’s increasingly clear that profit often takes priority over passenger experience. If there are viable alternatives to air travel—or even creative ways to break up a trip using different carriers—I will absolutely consider them in the future to avoid contributing further to practices I find frustrating. For example, I’ve already found more affordable options for future travel between Vancouver and Toronto. Next time, I may opt to book with two separate airlines if it allows me to save money and avoid rigid policies that don’t serve passengers well.
Su HyunFlew with Air CanadaYYZ-YQMMar 2025
Toronto airport terminal 1 is quite boring without many places to shop. If possible get there as late as you possibly can unless you plan to just watch your phone for 1.5 - 2 hours. Also mind that even if you were assigned a specific seat at the time of check-in, it is not guaranteed that you will sit there if there happens to be an obese passenger nearby you because you will likely have to give up your aisle seat for them.
WadeFlew with Air CanadaYHZ-YYZMay 2025
Wait until your Zone number is called before getting in line! When you don’t wait, it causes unnecessarily long lines, slows the process and makes YOU look arrogant and stupid!!
JasonFlew with Porter AirlinesYUL-YHZDec 2024
If you are taking a carry-on, Porter offers a great service where before you board the plane they have Porter Gate service where they will take your carry-on and when you arrive at your destination your carry-on will be waiting for you outside the plane. So you do not have to worry about the overhead and not having space.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaYVR-YKAJan 2025
Taking the Skytrain into/out of YVR is useful. Coming in from the train there is a Security entry just to the right that is usually a shorter line and thus faster.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaYYC-YVRFeb 2025
Loved the early flight. Less traffic to get to the airport and no lineups to check in.

JasonFlew with Porter AirlinesYHZ-YULFeb 2025
If leaving from Halifax, I always give at least 30-45 mins extra as I find security there extremely bad. In addition depending on the time of year there are less companies who fly in the off (winter) season. That leaves Air Canada and Porter. Their fares are comparable usually.
SamFlew with Air CanadaIAD-YYZJan 2025
Do not rush to know the gate. almost anytime I have a trip to Toronto the gate changes and I walk a long distance to the new gate. for me this time around 30 minutes.
SallyFlew with WestJetHNL-YVRFeb 2025
Try to find a flight that gets to arriving in the day instead of late at night. It’s a waste of one night hotel which is very expensive now.
ShawnaFlew with Air CanadaYLW-YYZDec 2024
Was my first trip to Toronto, I would choose an aisle seat or window seat, not middle. Middle seat is best for a very small person.

Do not buy duty free alchol at the Puerto Vallarta Airport. They do not seal the bag and it will be rejected when you arrive ready for your connecting flight. Security could have sealed the bag there, or allowed it to go into my checked luggage. They choose not to be helpful in any way. I am unclear as to whether they notified my connecting flight to wait for me.
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaMEX-YVRDec 2024
- Try to bring as little luggage as possible. Nowadays ALL airlines charge you for bringing basically anything other than a little purse/laptop/small backpack! It is getting ridiculous! - Bring food, because all airlines charge an obscene amount of money for a sandwich and/or a pop. - Come early. The airline (or the the airport) might have to change the gate, so there could be some running around.
valerieFlew with Air CanadaORD-YULJan 2025
“Meal” usually means more than a light snack. I thought what they served was an appetizer not the total meal. So I’d eat before or bring food.

Limited business class lounge facilities. Need a new terminal. Traffic at airport is terrible so arrive early
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaYOW-YULOct 2024
Checking luggage can be done online 24 hours before flight departure and you receive your boarding tickets. Both save you time Bring snacks in the plane. Anything you buy in the duty free zone you can bring with you when you board the plane, even restaurants left-overs
Verified travelerFlew with WestJetLAX-YVRNov 2024
Don’t wait to the last hour to get to LAX for your flight. Traffic is heavy in and out of LAX and it will take at least an hour to checkin and clear security. Be there at least 2 hours pre-flight.

There's no taxi stand at the Kamloops airport. Take the airport shuttle if you can. It's fast, efficient and cheap. The guy running it is great.

No need to be at the airport in BDA 4 hours in advance as advised by the airline. 1 to 1.5 hours is plenty!

If you think you’ll be hungry, bring food on board or eat before boarding. Don’t pay extra for a premium seat unless you want to sit toward the front of the plane. The seats are not different from one section to another. The bathroom smelled and was tight.

Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaORD-YOWNov 2024
Ottawa, as a small airport is easiest to navigate! Overhead baggage compartments seem to be smaller, and on every flight they seem to need travellers to volunteer to put carryons in checked luggage instead.
SuzanneFlew with Air CanadaYVR-YULOct 2024
If you’re going to connect international from Montreal it’s quite a distance between domestic arrival and the international gates, be prepared for that could be tight.

Plane was packed so as Seniors we took advantage of early assisted boarding. Not sure how others that were young and healthy got on earlier than us in Zone 5. Toronto security was disorganized -no bins and told to wait after 15 minutes and li e backup we got bins from the security line beside us. They lost one of my husbands shoes, and did not make an effort to find it or help us….another 15 minutes. Thankfully we were early.
LeeAnnFlew with Air CanadaYLW-YYZSep 2024
I wish I had known that the air canada flight I was taking was so small inside that you can barely fit your carryon bag down the aisle. Also that there are some planes who's seats don't recline.

Calgary airport is nuts… so busy, give yourself a little time. Disappointed that I couldn’t use the lounge voucher because Elevation closed for renovations and Aspire had a waiting list.

Bring your own entertainment device. The system installed in the Airbus A321-200 we were flying is old, slow and ergonomically poor.

Board early so you can actually secure a spot for your carry-on items near your seat. There's an $11 express bus from the airport to a major subway station downtown (and includes free transit service in the city for 24h), but the bus only takes exact change, so make sure you buy a ticket from the kiosk in the airport first.
SuzanneFlew with WestJetSJD-YVRAug 2024
Ideal is to fly direct. It is lovely. Note that the Cabo airport food is some of the most expensive I’ve seen. I always try to have a good meal before I arrive. Or pack something if you don’t want to spend a fortune on fast food.

It is harder and harder to find low cost carriers in the Canadian market. Air Canada and West Jet offer the highest quality, but the lowest overall value due to prove gouging. If you can sacrifice some of the benefits of in-flight meals and easy check-in availability, then airlines such as Flair can be a worthy option. Let's hope we see increased competition in Canada to moderate prices to better serve air travellers.

Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaYUL-YVRMay 2024
People should go to airport at least 90 minutes before the boarding. The security check in the Montreal airport is slow and the lines are long. We were only in the domestic flights terminal. There are a lot of cafe you can buy food after security check, but very limited number of shops there. The lounge in the Montreal airport for domestic flights - business class serves hot breakfast, which is good, but nothing special. We received our suitcases in Vancouver very fast and even faster got on taxi. Great job.

The Newark international airport was a breeze! Through bag check and to my gate in less than 10min! Make sure you bring your own food onto the plane, otherwise you are stuck buying from their bistro menu. Food vendors seem quite limited at the terminal.
AbirFlew with Air CanadaSAN-YULMay 2024
Boarding was in time, everything was well organized and clearly follows set policies, although carry-on sizing is not appealing, offering free check to allow for more cabinet space is good. Immigration process was smooth, overall a good experience and it recommended.

Boarding is ok with Air Canada, though their staff needs training to be efficient without being passive aggressive. They also repeat their announcements too often, over and over again. Not pleasant. You can be very efficient with a bit of class. Getting the Travelers nervous doesn't help anyone. MIA is a great airport for departures as the terminal entrance has specific doors for each Gate Sector. Example: if your Gate is G4, There's a drop off door for G. Less walking, less seeking, excellent system for Drop Off of passengers
Verified travelerFlew with Air CanadaYVR-YULMar 2024
If there is a connecting flight to the US register with the MCP app or have Nexus. Only 2 US customs stations open for a lot of people to check. Everyone was running to their flights. We had 2 hours in between our flights and we got thru just in time to board.

Short flights late in the evening can mean waiting for planes that have gotten later and later throughout the day. Short flights on a Sunday night means full planes of people heading home after a weekend away.

BC Ferries is cheapest option (walk-on is quite inexpensive) if you have the time. Harbour Air and Pacific Coastal Airlines (YVR South Terminal) often have great sales. Helijet, even on sale, will likely be most expensive. But, Helijet is harbour to harbour (like Harbour Air), and can fly in the dark and in somewhat bad weather (Harbour Air can only fly during daylight).

All good the seats a little tight and no I pad screen

Everything was good except the fact you charge more for a carry on bag vs a check in bag and to top it off in US$ that was not impressive

Our flight was cancelled at the last minute for maintenance reasons and we were rebooked on a late flight when we purposefully booked our flight to be home early due to work.

Seemed like an old plane. Very noisy. The seat cushions were so old that the metal bracing of the seats were poking through. There was plenty of leg room though.

Flight was delayed over 2 hours, then landed at a different airport!

The whole experience from check in to deboarding was fantastic.

was okay except.. 1)the porter check in webpage doesn't let you print your boarding pass from home 2)that there was a 90 min cut off for checking in on the kiosk in general, and to print a boarding pass, even tho i checked in online already....

Great! Personable crew. I love that they pour complimentary beer and wine.

I love the 2 seats per row. More room. The crew were excellent.

It was amazing although they did bump us up to the front which gave us more leg room and a meal. The service was great! The staff were friendly. :)

Check in slow even though completed online check in, there was no bag drop available so had to query for 90mins as only 2 staff on desks.

Flying to a far away destination is a miracle in itself, so please take these with a grain of salt. The seats are a bit tired, and need a freshen up. The entertainment could be a bit newer, especially with all services available now. The food really is where we need help. But again, flying is a privilege, so all is good.

Not so much porter it's your site! Not good

They are a sister company with Air Transat and the two companies do not work well together. If you have any issues the two companies will blame each other and you will miss your flights. The help line does not help

Never book through a third party. Book through Air transats website. Terrible process to get help and many issues happen with them and sister companies because half the flights you book with them aren’t even through air transat.

The plane was pretty full, and we dis not have any includes meal for our 4h30 flight? And on-board entertainment wasn't available, there was no TV or plugging to charger your device on the plane. They told us to download an app if we wanted to watch movies but it never connected, that was a disappointment, the r we st was very good though and the crew were really nice!

Seats were very tight especially for first leg of trip.

Not necessarily a Transat issue but it took 2 hours to go through immigration. Tried to reach out to Transat for resolution but was unable to reach an agent.

The flight was excellent, once it started, however we were delayed two hours when the first plane’s engines wouldn’t start. They found another identical plane and transferred us and our luggage in under two hours and made up almost an hour in the air.

Really low cost trip for the huge amount I paid…o paid 550 dollars just for the trip, one way trip, plus 95 for 1 luggage’s and the second 135 dollars…no blanket, not headphones for entertainment, food was served after 3 hours and 2 hours after, breakfast was served Bad, low cost company for high prices

7 hour layover was a drag. Free internet on the long leg was great.

They cancelled and moved my flight with no email or text or any other notice. I discovered this only when I attempted to check in for my flight. Actual flying experience was above average.

They were on time and everything went as expected. The only thing that could be better was they didn't wait for us to get through customs to pick up our luggage off the carousel. An employee picked it up and was shoving it together with others onto a cart. Later we found one of our luggage was slightly bent.

From vancouver go calgary nd vice vetsa fligjt was delayed

Delayed boarding. Delayed taking off. Delayed landing. Missed our connecting flight. Our seats on this plane were not assigned until last minute, splitting up our family with kids. I sat in the last row next to the bathroom with so many people rubbing up against me to get to the bathroom the entire flight.

It was good! Short flight and it was on time!

Another delayed flight. Then got bumped to a later connecting flight, over two hours later! Plane was hot and uncomfortable.

Asked to cancel flight 6 days in advance of flight back to St. Louis, MO. Would not allow. No credit either.

My flight was delayed three times then eventually cancelled the next flight was the following day scheduled for 1030 it was delayed I had to cancel reservations I had to put people up in hotels on the other end as they came out of town to pick me up all at my expense because WestJet couldn’t get it together I’m very disappointed in WestJet’s performance and how they handled the situation Get your customers to where they need to be in a timely fashion, even if that means putting them on your competitors jets Customer service should be number one I will think twice now with booking with WestJet

Arrival at Comox from, London,ON 6 hours later... No bueano

Everything could have been better from the planes not being delayed to the rudeness of staff to it was just horrible will not use kayak again or Air Canada I can't see what would ever change my mind now

I wish someone would wake me up so I could eat the free food :( slept for 90mins on a 10hr flight and I missed breakfast. I’m sad about that lol.

Business class was not worth the extra charge. Overpriced for slightly larger seat. Nothing special. Small older plane.

Both flights are delayed so I rate the whole experience as mediocre.

Bad experience flying with air Canada . Seats not comfortable . Checked bag was delayed and was bought home next day by airport employee. Had to buy toiletries since bag was delayed . No compensation was even suggested . Will not fly air canada again

I n the Toronto airport I had trouble finding my zone. It was 47. I went from Zone 1 to the end of the line.didn't find it. Then saw my zone somewhat by accident over by where you first come in. Signs could be more helpful or more personnel directing people like me.

When I came in the front door in Montreal airport I didn't know where to go, first time traveling. Signs were not directing me.

The AC could have been better . Other than that , all was good

I booked my flight months ago, and checked-in online about 12 hours before the flight. I received an email confirmation of check-in. I had no subsequent communication from Air Canada after my original booking. After arriving at the airport three hours before the flight, as instructed, I waited 90 minutes for an agent to appear to check my bag. I was informed that my flight had been canceled many weeks before, and that flight was no longer being run!! I showed a copy of my check-in confirmation, but no explanation could be found. I was placed on standby for the next flight and the connection. Luckily, those flights were not full and I arrived at my destination. I double checked my email, but I received no update about the flight from Air Canada until the day of the flight.

Aircanada was not great. Didn't get anything to eat. No snacks. No entertainment. Horrible checking in.

Very bead I am going to Vancouver to toronto. Not boarding receive. Before flight ✈️ time I have to take boarding. Boarding manager asking me pay $89 . Just flight ✈️ time before I pay .after provided the Boarding pass. Flair Airlines management not good. But kayak is best application.

Not good Even after I made my booking, I was charged $90 for my boarding pass. I have collected boarding pass i pay $90 near . Flair airline not good. Without pay no boarding pass.

The flight was smooth, but the seats are not comfortable. I was not able to sleep. The sizes for the personal item and carry-on are way smaller than other airlines.

Leg room was terrible and seats very narrow. Flight was also delayed.

The worst airline experience that I ever had in my life. The fare was cheap but boy do you pay for it when it comes to baggages, carry-ons, food on board and lack of available staff at check-in. Almost every other passenger on my flight had the same complaints and experience. We all bonded discussing our displeasure. My husband and I will definitely not be traveling with Flair Airlines. We'll take anyone else.

The most uncomfortable plane I ever fly on. The seats won't even recline a little. For a 5 hrs flight at night and tired it felt like torture

Seats in 1 res are dispersed all over the plane, even child was across

Personally, I will not use this fight again. The service is poor, you have to buy even water. They don't provide anything even sneak, you have to buy. They said Personally items for 7 kg. Then they use some measurements, if you have 7kg and if it's not getting inside of their measurements, you have to pay 80$ this is robbery. I will prefer other flight then this. I am désappointement taking this airplane.

It’s a shameful company. It ask as to go to counter to take the boarding pass, they simply send it by email, just to check the bags’ size in a smaller than normal template. DONT USE FLAIR! It will be more expensive than normal airlines at the end.

flight was okay, no wifi, no free drinks but worst of all they lost my son's bike for four days. Customer service was nonexistent - call a number that leaves you on perpetual hold, there's no baggage folks in the baggage claims area (in vancouver). we went up to international and nobody was at ticketing, went to domestic and they had us fill out a form. they could not tell us where the bag was. Anyway, highly recommend you drop an airtag for anything that's worth more than $500. My son's bike costs a lot more than that to replace; I was on pins and needles for four days.
