My luggage did not arrive and I’ve spent my whole vacation with no clothes, shoes or toiletries. Never fly Air Canada again Susanne Hayward
I didn't get to take this flight due to delays and missed flight
Unorganized boarding, late boarding, cramped seating
Crew were friendly and helpful. It would have been better if any of the flights were remotely close to being in time.
Cons: "Air Canada is by far the worst airline ever! Lost our connection flight and arrived super late after being relocated in another flight."
Pros: "Food and crew excellent."
Cons: "Boarding process delayed as groups 3-6 all lined up together. No air at seats"
Pros: "N/A"
Cons: "All passengers had to board 40 minutes earlier than departure time. The air plain door was closed 10 minutes before departure. No reason we had to board earlier. All passengers are only 15-20 people..."
Cons: "We had a 5:35 am flight and the plane was 1/2 hour late to gate. By the time it got there, we spent over 1 hour sitting at gate loaded up waiting for weather to clear. It was fine when it was supposed to be there. Therefore, this was not initially a weather issue. Our connecting flight is 12 hours after Our schedules flight. I have a 1 year old toddler. Customer service rep less than sympathetic personality."
Pros: "Confort for a airbus"
Cons: "The two passengers seats whit me are drugs they laught always impossible to sleep for a flight on the night and the toilets had a lot of paper on the floor try to check the passenger whit the legalisation of the cannabis in Canada and all the fly whit China airlines are good chinease people have good education"
Pros: "Exceptional & friendly service."
Cons: "For a 4+ hour flight they may consider offering some free snack & drink."
Pros: "Plenty of space. Attentive crew. Food was acceptable."
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Friendly crew."
Cons: "Terrible food and entertainment on the flight to and from Santiago. Felt squizzed like a sardine in the can in the middle row. I will never choose Boening 777 for overnight flights. Transfer in Toronto was confusing. Delayed arrival caused problems in retrieving luggage and made a stressful experience getting to Chicago flight on time - not mentioning sluggish US border check in Toronto. For my next trip, I would rather pick another airline and transfer airport."
Pros: "The flight was good and the crew excellent."
Cons: "We sat on the plane for an hour waiting for a hanger and couldn't get up as we were on the runway."
Cons: "5 hours delayed because captin was late."
Pros: "Seat selection."
Cons: "The meals didn't taste that great."
Pros: "Walking past the Turkish Airlines desk in Dulles and knowing I would NEVER have to interact with these monsters again."
Cons: "I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."
Pros: "Love it"
Cons: "Nothing to report."
Pros: "Pretty good flight for 11 hours. Tight spaces but the entertainment and crew were good. The cookies y'all serve with the cranberries in them are the bomb."
Cons: "The breakfast meal smells funny and not as appetizing. It's a little weird they give you Noodles in a cup ramen for a snack - all that salt."
Pros: "Excellent attention over the telephone for re-royting. Thanks to Kayaks timely notification I was able to rearrange my return."
Cons: "Passengers checking luggage are better off waiting in the economy line - it moved much faster than the business class line."
Pros: "This was a boring flight which is a good thing, no drama, no mechanical problems, no weather problems. More leg room than an overseas flight."
Cons: "There was some confusion during boarding."
Pros: "Service was kind."
Cons: "We sat on the plane for over an hour before take-off and were therefore late arriving in Toronto. Economy seats were cramped, as expected, and there were children screaming most of the flight. Food was pretty awful."
Cons: "At least snacks could have been given..."
Pros: "The snack selection is excellent"
Cons: "No complaints"
Pros: "Our flight went by quickly, as the seats in Economy were very comfortable and the crew was very kind and accommodating. There was a great selection of movies and TV on the individual entertainment screens. We would definitely fly Air Canada again."
Cons: "Nothing- one of our best international flights!"
Cons: "my bags did not make it to my connecting flight. very inconvenient!!"
Cons: "Terrible flight. I should have driven instead. Flight was suppose to land at 12:30pm but due to computer malfunction we landed at 7pm."
Cons: "Same as above. Flight delayed by 45 minutes. No explanation given as to why... no inclement weather or other issues that day."
Pros: "Very friendly flight attendants. Great food!"
Cons: "My husband and I were placed in separate middle seats with no options to change. Since I am several months pregnant, this made for an uncomfortable flight."
Pros: "Very pleasant flight; excellent entertainment options to while away the time. Excellent crew."
Cons: "I was held aside at the customs area and had a difficult time figuring out what was going on. Signage was less than helpful, and staff were unaware of why I was being held. After over 30 minutes during which the gate staff could only tell me to wait and watch for my initials on the electronic board, the staff learned that some bags on my arrival flight had been accidentally diverted to Canadian customs rather than US customs, and passengers could not proceed to connecting flights until our bags were located. The customer service staff then worked very hard on our problem. I was instructed to re-book my flight, since by now the doors were about to close - but that customer service person could not re-book me, and I had to queue up again for another agent. When I got to the desk, that agent was able to get me approved to board my flight sans bag, ran me to the front of the Immigration line, and got me to my gate in time to board. I deeply appreciate her assistance, as my family was already on the plane."
Cons: "I was very disappointed that the airline served absolutely no food to passengers for such a long flight. Other airlines serve meals and beverages to their passengers on trans-Atlantic flights. I doubt I will fly Air Canada again for such a flight, due to the lack of interest and care provided the passengers."
Pros: "I had an exit row seat so the extra room was much appreciated."
Cons: "Aircanada's method of multi zone boarding is a mess. Everyone queues up and blocks whatever zones actually can get on. The seat next to the exit door was freezing. The food was horrible. I understand airplane food is bad but this is some of the worst I have had. Our flight our was fine. There was no inflight entertainment for an 8+ hour flight - you had to rent iPads which is crazy these days. We were late to takeoff due to airport traffic which isn't the airlines fault but then because the customs baggage scanning system went down at Montreal my husband missed his connection - was eventually put on my flight after two trips to ticketing and three calls to aircanada but his bag never arrived in Chicago. We are still waiting for it."
Pros: "This was an economy flight for the weekend. Everything was perfect except I believe the airlines policy of charging for checked baggage is leading people to take advantage. We were delayed briefly just for people trying to get way too much carry on baggage into the overhead compartments."
Pros: "Nothing in particular. We got here safely. That's good."
Cons: "1 bathroom for long flight. Ridiculous. Very tight and uncomfortable seats. No pillows, blankets, food and drink service only 1 time in long flight and all food is purchased. Basically, an exercise in human torture for 5+ hours. Should not be permissible to treat people this way."
Pros: "Flights were early."
Cons: "As usual with Air Canada, the flight attendants serve with disdain., and are never friendly."
Pros: "It was short."
Cons: "The gate area was horribly crowded, extremely chaotic and hot."
Pros: "There was nothing redeeming about this flight."
Cons: "Delay caused us to almost miss our flight to Dublin. Rude staff, and overall disappointing. I will not be flying on Air Canada again."
Pros: "Comfortable sheet."
Cons: "Poor selections of movie and music. Food was horrible. Boarding time was 40 min late"
Cons: "Needed subtitles on movies"
Pros: "None"
Cons: "Air Canada did not have a workable emergency handling process. We waited for more than two hours in line to find out the agents can't assist us rebooking our flights. We ended up sleeping on the airport floor over night. They could not rebook us next day and we spent another day waiting. This is my first and last time flying on Air Canada !!!"
Pros: "Check in and boarding process ok."
Cons: "Had to buy meal on the SFO-Montreal leg, which was at the snack/wrap level. Constraint space seats."
Pros: "We had a pretty uneventful flight from Tampa to Toronto using Air Canada. That is a good thing. The airline offers complementary juices and drinks of the nonalcoholic variety. No complaints."
Pros: "Friendly crew"
Cons: "I was shocked to find out only select passengers had to pay for their checked luggage. I only had 1 and they charged me $50EC. I spoke to a few other passengers and they said they weren't asked to pay anything."
Pros: "The flight attendant was personable and made the flight enjoyable."
Cons: "I couldn't get through security without my bag but they didn't have a way to let me know it was lost so I almost missed my flight waiting on a bag that wasn't coming. There should have been an announcement to come to the Air Canada desk. There wasn't. When I got to Charlotte, there was No One at the Air Canada desk to report my lost bag. Thank goodness those from United were able to provide me with a phone number to call. The phone attendant was not a native English speaker and made it incredibly difficult to file a claim. I'm still waiting for my bag."
Pros: "Overall the flight was good. The crew was informative and attentive."
Pros: "good flight, no issues. Enthusiastic Air Canada rouge staff."
