We were trapped in the plane for 3 hours without A/C until crew decided we had to leave the plane so that maintenance could work on a computer issue. No A/C in a 90degree weather was inhumane. People were screaming and wanted to leave. It was very claustrophobic and unhealthy. When entering the airport again, we had to pass security all over again, take off shoes, and wait in an endless line to get $12 for food. With no news on when plane was leaving. Plane took off almost 6 hours later. It was unbearable.

This Delta flight was operated by WestJet .. we didn’t know until after booking. Delta advertised free baggage check however WestJet charged us a total of 120 dollars for this. This also didn’t allow us to do online check in using WestJet app as there was an outstanding fee for baggage.. I had to hold for over an hour on our outbound flight to do this. Returning was the same although we decided to physically check in early to avoid this hold time. When we checked in the agent told us we had been put on the standby list and only just made the flight. So despite prepaying for the tickets and reserving the seats we still didn’t apparently have a guarantee of being on the flight.. very concerning. He assigned us other seats and then actually had to ask us if we had paid for our baggage.. again very strange. We paid and didn’t complain as it wasn’t his fault. We did over hear other travellers with the same issue though. Airlines need to be more organized in my opinion.. apps that need upgrading and the apparent overbooking of flights makes just the journey more stressful knowing that there is a possibility that you may not get on your flight despite prepaying and reserving and paying for seating and baggage.. what is going on?

I like/can appreciate the staff ON SITE (airports and in the sky ) are there to help you and try to make it less stressful, they do a wonderful job at it! It's when there are unforeseen issues, or problems that occur that directly affect the passengers and their flight(or flights if the issue originated on their first flight and they have a connecting) then that's where there seem to have issues. The airline does not communicate andfl readily update passengers waiting in the airport, only if you're looking at the app or departure screens would you be aware if it keeps getting pushed another 10 mins, another 10 mins and so on until it's 2 hours delayed. If the first delay of the day for that route was due to a technical issue with the plane and that then is going to cause the rest of the days flights on that route to be delayed until the plane is fixed then shouldn't a different plane be used in the meantime so it doesn't affect the rest of the days flights?!? And they also need better work in terms of baggage claim, my app said it had arrived, I had one bag, got off and immediately went to baggage claim and it had multiple flights listed on it (most of my flight was connecting but there was a few staying here in dc too), and no luggage came in for any of the flights listed for at least a half hour and when they would it would only be 5 bags at a time. After an hour of waiting Syracuse disappeared off the screen and I still didn't have a bag. I went to the counter and it was there just stuck in line with the castaway bags. Just little things done that made a long day even longer
Flight from Chicago to Vancouver was 5 hours delayed, not even for weather. Canadian Transportation Authority requires $400 CAD compensation for each ticket flying into Canada for this level of delay. This was not offered by the airline to us.

Now you - Air Canada - are sharing in United's PR disaster because you've effectively said buying tickets from you might just be a bait-and-switch for buying tickets with them. Upon purchasing tickets "your" customers have no way of knowing what they're going to get. I'd much rather book with an airline that sells tickets for its own flights, or at least tells customers when they're buying something else instead of lying to them."

Pros: "The flight started boarding early enough that we had no problem pushing off from the gate on-time. We arrived early"
Cons: "The baggage took longer to arrive that it took us to hike the considerable distance from the gate and then clear passport control."
Cons: "Having to walk a LONG distance from one terminal to the next and almost missing my flight due to delays. Then we had a delay from the bridge from plane to the airport was not working!!!"
Pros: "I missed my flight due to an unexpected car accident. The first two Kayak agents I delt with tried their best to help me by calling United and getting the fees waived for me, but they had no luck.The third agent was successful. All three agents were wonderful, compassionate and wanted to help. The third agent was successful and I appreciate all that was done for me."
Cons: "On both legs of my flight, I watched an hour of a movie on my iPad using United's app, and then the network failed. And I couldn't get the first movie on the second leg, so I couldn't finish either. Very frustrating."
Cons: "Flight was delayed over an hour since bags had to all be unpacked and then packed back into plane due to bags being stored improperly and not all fitting"
Pros: "Informative Captain. Made up time in transit."
Cons: "In flight entertainment did not exist and a fee was charged to access content online. This does not meet industry standards. During boarding, airline agent told me my one allowable carry-on item had to be checked because of limited space in overhead bins. Upon boarding the plane, there was clearly room for more luggage to be stored overhead. One flight crew member served complimentary beverages by serving the entire can. The other served by pouring only some of the can into a cup. Again, this does not meet industry standards, from the perspective of a reasonably well-traveled flier."
Pros: "I gave it a four because the airline put safety first. Though we had to change plane due to some funny sound made by the engine, the wait was worth it. The crew were helpful and the actual flight was smooth."
Pros: "Nice new 737-800, friendly crew"
Cons: "I volunteered to be bumped to a later flight, which was handled well; however my checked bags did not get transferred. The baggage desk at YVR was very helpful, but the United lost bags office was unreachable by phone. They always had very long hold times."

Pros: "Leg room seemed better. Flight was early arriving in Vancouver. Flight crew kept us informed about slight turbulence and arrival time, Pilot landed plane very smoothly."
Cons: "This is minor: the small package of complimtary food (a sweet wafer) was not good. Something more substantial would have been appreciated for the long flight."

Cons: "This flight was delayed an hour as United had maintenance issues with the plane. United sadly has a bad reputation for deferred maintenance on its planes in order to cut costs. They don't care about customer satisfaction, just the bottom line."
Pros: "The crew was very friendly and boarding on and off the plane was very easy"
Cons: "The seats were extremely uncomfortably. We had a nearly 6 hour flight with no tvs which wasn't great either."
