FAQs for booking Toronto to Istanbul flights

  • Should I take public transportation from the airport into Istanbul?

Taking public transportation from the airport into Istanbul is a better option for passengers who are travelling light. Although it’s the cheaper option, each one-way ticket costing ₺ 2,5 (around C$ 0.59) per person, it takes more planning than getting on a taxi or arranging a shuttle with your hotel, and it's not the most comfortable or direct trip.

  • How do I catch the metro from the airport to Istanbul’s city centre?

Follow the signs that say "light rail" from outside the baggage claim area to line M1A (red line). The metro station is about a 10min walk away from the airport. The final stop for this line in the city centre is Yenikapı. One token costs ₺ 4 (about C$ 0.95) but you need to buy a new token every time you change lines or transfer to another form of public transportation. Please note that operating hours are from 6:00 am to 11:59 pm, so if your flight from Toronto to Istanbul arrives outside of these times, you’ll need to plan for another type of transportation.

You must book online, and the driver will meet you outside the arrivals area.

  • Should I exchange currency at one of the offices at the airport?

Currency exchange fees at Atatürk International Airport are higher than anywhere else in the city. During the flight, the fleas biting me in the plane.

Boarding could've been improved a bit, the rest is excellent.

Agents helping disable person doesnt know connections to Poland and after 9 agents helping and 2hours ,we made it to proper terminal. Polish Dreamliner its Polish nightmare liner with so narrow seats and no room under front seat for bag and feet,in economy class. To upgrade, to higher standart cost an arm and leg ,even there are empty seats No good experience overall

The crew and flight were amazing . However , my bag’s locker got broken and no refund provided . Everything else was amazing except this bad incident that ruined my experience

Checking in took very long for whatever reason. Flight comfort these days is always poor so… Crew was great thought!

The customer service rep on chat refused carrying golf set at no charge that is customary for LOT and others. I wanted yo carry just ONE club not even full set! Web check in was nightmare. Most horrible lounge at warsaw. To call it business class is a BIG exaggeration. Rude staff warsaw to nyc. Seats uncomfortable and not flat as is now customary. Bad content and entertainment system.

Seats were so uncomfortable, my butt hurts so much, I wish they have more cushions,it really was horrible, Except that, Stewarts were polite food was decent

The 737 lacked business-class seating. It was basically economy plus but with the middle seats left unsold. There were no TV screens but good food and service.

Plane is super outdated, seats not that comfortable for business class. Lounge also out dated. They need to catch up to 2024. Don’t think I’d ever fly again.

Boarding was impossible to navigate. Had mobility issues and a business class ticket, but still boarded almost at the end of the queue because there was absolutely no organization or assistance.

my experience was great with Turkish airlines . the problem i encountered was with kayak booking. When I booked . it showed that im allowed a bag . and when I got to the airport, i had to pay $165 for one bag.

Not up to Business Class standards. Two of the three toilets were out of order. The hostesses were aware and didn’t show any responsible act to do something. Food quality was not what we expect from Turkish hospitality. Overall we were not impressed and disappointed.

During mid flight, try to get a flight attendant to help I couldn’t find one Otherwise, everything was perfect

I was not given basinett seat. The connecting flight was missed due to airline fault i was not accomodated for hotel.Drinks were normt served frewuently.Never travelling again on tirkish airlines.I always travel wiyh family by turkish airline but no more.zero stars

It was ok. Not the experience I expected from Turkish airlines

I loved and appreciated the agent at the check in counter in Amman. He was very professional and helpful. I believe his name was Lawrence. All I saw from him were smiles after smiles after smile. Very kind and professional. Overall trip was comfortable and pleasant.

The crew were very hospitable and pleasant. The food was pretty good. Unfortunately, there was a flight delay of more than 2 hours. We're not sure why but it appeared to be outside the control of Turkish Airlines.

Terrible. Delayed. No one would help. Just limped about like a piece of meat

Bough tickets with luggage, but made me pay at Airport as well

The best airline food being served for business travellers. Excellent food.

Food can be better. Taste and option, the pasta wasn't the greatest.

The internet connection was perfect, and the updated entertainment systems that allow me to connect my Bluetooth earbuds was excellent

Flight was fine and on time. But no entertainment system and little leg room.

I swear airplane seats keep getting smaller and smaller but everything else was great. Smooth sailing and we got in early.

No food to provide, they forgot that, in some cases, people stay at the airport for hours without food. Now, to provide them with food, they have to ask them to pay, because some don't have money. That way, they can't eat.

After a long flight from Tokyo, our connecting flight home was canceled due to “maintenance” while we were on our layover in Toronto. Very frustrating to close out our honeymoon, although I’m sure others had it even worse during last week’s strike. Air Canada staff at Pearson Airport are the one thing that kept me remotely at peace during this — they were very helpful and deserve a lot of props. But I would not fly Air Canada again.

It was good to receive a card for my birthday

Horrible flight cancelled had to buy another very expensive ticket

Air Canada marooned me in Canada with no way back home during my summer vacation. I had to buy a last minute flight ticket for over $500 to make it back home. I have their credit card and have flown them for years. Never again.

Flight was cancelled last minute. Had to scramble and purchase a $2000 flight through a separate airlines. Stuck in Toronto two extra days. Missed my first two days on a new job. Had to rent a car for an additional two days. Scrambled to fins a place to live those extra two days. Spent a ton of extra money and lost a lot of money, as well as made a poor impression at work. Difficult difficult difficult

Horrible experience. They broke the handle of my checked in suitcase and then refused pay for damages

Boarding was efficient and quick, crew was very attentive, seats were comfortable.

Everything was very good! I personally struggled with the heat in the cabin for the first 2 hours

Very caring crew on board. Didn’t have dinner as I was sleeping. Was seating in the emergency row so I had comfortable leg room

horrible! after going through hell and back to get a flight home after my flights got cancelled I also had a delay of 2hrs stuck inside the plane because of some technological problem.

Enjoyable flight, helpful crew everything was organized to accommodate passengers.

The food was very good and it came multiple times

We were never able to take this flight because our first flight from Austin to Dallas was cancelled.

Absolutely the worst airline. Can’t find anything positive to say. We were in business which is the same as most airlines coach

Last minute gate change. Didn’t put our TSA global on our trip even though we asked multiple times to confirm. Did not help with food when could not eat what was served.

Nice flight, friendly crew, and a decent in-flight meal.

Check in was madness. Boarding was madness. The flight itself was OK, and the flight attendants were nice. Connection to my next flight was two hours. But based on my arrival gate in Cairo, and next departure gate in Cairo, the whole two hours were needed given the inefficient procedures. At the end of my journey (connected to Lufthansa after Egyptair), my checked luggage did not arrive, and after 4 days, has still not arrived.

Everything was ok except cleanliness of the plane, it was poor.

It was appalling! Using small aircraft for 5 hour flights is ridiculous! No legroom, terrible food, no drinks apart from water, tea and coffee (once only) makes it a terrible experience. The cabin staff really badly handled the behaviour of an extremely obnoxious woman who insisted on fully reclining her seat for the duration of the flight with a very tall man behind her. She abused his and the staff and they were not able to deal with her at all other than to tell the man that they are reclining seats and they could not prevent her from doing so. They were also very slow to react when a large nu of passengers stood up and started taking their luggage out of the overhead bins whilst the aircraft was still taxiing at Heathrow. I will never fly Egypt Air again! I know this isn’t the airline’s fault but the security at Cairo airport was a joke. With the terrible security record on flights out of Egypt, they really need to take it seriously. Scanners weren’t working, liquids were allowed on, only one person operating the cray machine and searching bags caused a massive backlog of people…I’m convinced you could have got anything onto that plane if you were determined enough. By the way, it was the same story in Aswan airport.

The plane was old and several things were broken including my seat. The sinks in the restrooms didn’t drain. The armrest on my seat was broken so the seat was constantly reclined. The tray table was broken. The fabric was coming off the seats. The overhead bin doors wouldn’t stay locked. The hotel accommodation was disgusting.

Boarding was chaotic and disorganized, and the foot rest to my seat was broken. But the food was good and the flight attendants were kind and attentive.

So bad we never travel with Egypt air bad service smells bad food bad Ching my sets to back

Food was terrible (I tried the beef plate). Service is improved. The plane is new so it was good enough

Horrible old filthy airplane with brooking seat and entertainment system

Boarding was a nightmare. Still the B773s don’t have WIFI and are a something from the 90s in terms of comfort.
