Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The pilot got us to Toronto."
Cons: "Everything. Contrary to most of my experiences with WestJet over the past nineteen years, this was the worst, overall, trip I have ever had with them, from delays, to missing my connecting flight, to gross incompetence with the staff, to a failure to even empathize with our situation (with a baby!)."
Pros: "Our stewardess was amazing. Took very good care of us. My son was sick and made sure a wheelchair was available for him total take us to transportation. Made our trip. Thank you!!"
Cons: "All was good"
Pros: "Boarding was easy and organized. The airport functions really well and the staff is very pleasant"
Cons: "Wish the movie selection had more recent variety! Lots to choose from but I found many were a mix of older movies"
Pros: "Nice plane, comfortable"
Cons: "We missed our runway and had to quickly ascend and retry. Disembarking the plane took 40 minutes due to the YYC skywalk being frozen. During this all communication with the passengers was minimal."
Cons: "Late departure. No a/c in plane for an hour on tarmac. People fainting"
Pros: "Decent flight."
Cons: "Entertainment system did not work. Also they said there is USB sockets at your seat but there were none."
Pros: "We we’re late getting in from Halifax because of head winds. Walked from one plane to another and luggage arrived with us."

Cons: "Flight was delayed taking off from Winnipeg 90 minutes with no explanation given. Made us late getting to Saskatoon and missed our daughter's scheduled ride to pick up our two cars as a result. Had to pay an extra two hours parking at airport, etc etc etc."
Cons: "A little cold"
Pros: "Great flight. It was like the plane wasnt even moving !!"
Pros: "Airport counter staff v helpful. Crew were great. Helped lady with 2 kids. Looked after 1 while mom changing other."
Cons: "Need more seat room. No entertainment."
Cons: "Unable to hear updates from the crew. Sounded garbled"
Pros: "The crew on the ground and in the air were great. So helpful and upbeat. Every attempt was made to ensure our comfort and safety."
Cons: "I was in a window seat next to a small child and her mother. They were both lovely, but I couldn't move for the bulk of the trip because they slept most of the way. Not the fault of the airline of course, but if there was a bit more leg room, it would have been a less claustrophobic trip. I used to fly a lot back in the 70s and early 80s and I don't remember ever being so uncomfortable. I have another trip flying back home at the end of the week, and, quite frankly I'm dreading it. Also, it was impossible to hear the captain's address, the on-board instructions, or various other announcements, in the airport and on the plane. Especially on the plane; the speakers were far too quiet to hear anything the captain said other than it was a nice day."
Pros: "The stewards were great however no TV anymore and meals because of cost cutting was where we thought it was lacking."
Cons: "Refer to above :"
Pros: "The crew was so friendly. They offered to check bags for free at the gate which is awesome because I didn’t have to worry about finding space in the overhead bins when boarding."
Cons: "Flight was delayed an hour, but it was due to weather, so it is really out of westjets hands."
Cons: "- The unprofessional way the staff "sorted us out". Especially the lady at check-in. Our flight was from NY to Toronto and then connecting after a nine-hour layover from Toronto to London. On all flights, we got the seats in the middle of the aircraft allocated, which is challenging when you are on crutches. - The second flight to London was in a terribly old machine where the overhead compartments were not well equipped to accommodate my crutches. The only way they fitted was at the very back underneath all the luggage. So when I asked the flight staff to help me get my crutch to go to the toilet, as I could not get it myself, he asked: "do you really have to use it?". I considered that very rude! - The selling of the entertainment systems took forever, which meant that the food sale was very late. Almost 4 hours into the flight on an overnight flight is really late! Especially when people would prefer to sleep. Due to my medication, I had to wait for food, but it took forever. All in all, not the best experience"
Cons: "It didn't happen"
Pros: "When I stepped onto the plane, there was someone there to greet you. That was nice."

Pros: "Flight was great! Just a bit slow on boarding, that ok , I understand. Out of Hamilton but better than Toronto."
Cons: "Arriving at Orlando, Real confusing and I'm not really old yet. Good thing we had people to meet us, I had no idea where to go."
Cons: "Too short"
Pros: "The staff were so helpful to travellers with small children and elderly travellers. They looked like they really enjoyed their jobs...Well Done Christine S North Vancouver"

Pros: "food, flight crew, leg room"
Cons: "crying babies"
Pros: "Pleasant staff and adequate leg room."
Pros: "the connection time in Calgary was short, so overall the trip was verily quick. Generally, the flight was good, clean plane, good services."
Cons: "There was no food for sale on a 4 hour flight from Hamilton to Calgary the flight left at 6:30 a.m., meaning that one had to be at the airport by 5:30 a.m., and for me leave where I was staying an hour before that. It was a connecting flight in Calgary with almost no time in the airport so I didn't get to eat until I arrived in Nanaimo at 1:15 p.m., Ontario time. for health reasons - I'm diabetic, I wish I had known that no "real" food was available. I got a snack which I read had 50 calories, and I got a juice which I normally won't drink to maintain blood sugar levels."

Pros: "They had a movie screen with movies available. Even though the trip was short, it was nice to have that option."
Cons: "I was made to pay for my carry on because of weight. I didn’t understand that when I booked. I am also certain that many other carry ones were more than 12 kilos."
Pros: "I sat in a seat that wasn’t my assigned seat, and no one said anything. It was awesome!"
Cons: "Lost my baggage even though I actually watched them transport it to the airplane from the airplane window. Brutal."
Cons: "There needed to be vegetarian options."
Cons: "Waiting for a plane to go that wasn’t ready to move, going for 2 rounds of de-icing when the 1st wore off, losing our place in line. Should have waited a little longer at 1st de-icing so we could have left in allotted time period (20 minutes after application). Also fairly certain we left Toronto Airport past the 20 minutes of 2nd de-icing. Which resulted in many passengers missing connection flights (myself included) with as much as a “We are sorry” from Air Canada. I know the weather was an issue, but wasn’t sole cause."
Pros: "on time departure, early arrival"
Pros: "The service the upgrade.the fight excellent"
Cons: "Hard to say"
Cons: "delayes again....."
Cons: "Air Canada Rouge is a nasty way to travel. In a standard seat, there is enough room for a very small adult/ child. If you are 6ft tall or more, you are going to be in trouble. If Air Canada gave an extra 3 inches of space for your knees between the seat in front of your own seat, everything else would be bearable. Corporate greed drives jamming in as many seats as humanly possible to ensure that you know how a sardine in a can feels. I am not sure why Air Canada feels justified in charging extra money for a bulkhead seat just so a customer can have a "normal" experience travelling. I would recommend every Air Canada exec goes for a ride on a Rouge Cattle Car to see how enjoyable it is."
Cons: "Everything was great"
Cons: "Aircraft was switched for maintenance. Incredibly late arrival"
Cons: "That there was no meal included. Only ordering extra through the cafe catalog"

Pros: "Good selection of TV and film's"
Pros: "I liked having the pillow and blanket giving to us. So great!"
Pros: "Early boarding with kids International Toronto terminal very comfortable with plenty of free wifi charging and iPads"
Cons: "No tv did not have app for streaming , did not know when booking that TV only available on your personal device Did not want to pay $10 to rent iPad"
Cons: "My one checked bag did not arrive with me. Not sure where the delay was."
Cons: "The plane was on the edge of departure when I rushed aboard. The server waiting at boarding had a patronizing attitude. As if to say, "Why are you late?""
Cons: "Too much late. I missed all my itenerary planned by Campus France. I had to pay for a taxi and a new train ticket."
Pros: "The service was good"
Cons: "The breakfast served was too little. We only received a drink and a biscuit."
Pros: "Business class compartments. Excellent by all standards"
Pros: "The 787 was amazing."

Cons: "Was a bit of a pain when I wanted to simply get off the plane in Geneva since it would be shorter, but then the plane was late, but that can't be helped"
Cons: "Was upgraded, so higher level of satisfaction"
Pros: "Every thing"
Cons: "My suitcase did not arrive with me."
Pros: ".... the very logical humane boarding, special attention to kids and older citizens."
Cons: ". no vegetarian options.... nothing outstanding or comfort feel... nothing that would make me choose the airline as a preference over others ~ other than the price"
Cons: "Again, my checked in luggage did not arrive with me in RDU!"
Cons: "3 hours of delay because of a technical failure"
Pros: "Flights arrived early Best landing ever"
Cons: "The economy seats on Canada Air are about as small as they can possibly be."
Pros: "If someone is requesting a wheelchair, shouldn't that be the first clue that they need a seat that isn't all the way at the back end of the plane? Try harder to make those accommodations possible!"
Cons: "See notes for suggestions. Besides that, there were far too many empty seats in "first class". What's the matter with you people? You couldn't see that I was struggling to walk and simply given me one of those out of courtesy? Do you think anyone would have known? NO THEY WOULDN'T HAVE! You don't even give a snack of a miniature bag of anything anymore? Again...nickel and dimming the customer and being a lemming! Following all that is greedy and wanting same as any other filthy carrier? Don't worry! I won't forget any of this! I was nice and respectful to everyone of the attendants. Yet limping and having problems breathing, they let me carry my own carry-on suitcase which was clearly too heavy for me! I had a pulmonary embolism and have very bad legs but that apparently didn't show well enough by the pained expression on my face! So thank you for nothing Air Canada. This is strike 2 against your airline. Three strikes and you're out! Because then, I contact the American Civil Disabilities office for their assistance in putting your business practices on television for heightened scrutiny by the FAA. No threat implied. Just statement of fact."
