Cons: The rental office was not staffed to handle the rush. About 12 people were in line, and initially there were only 2 agents. Those agents dealt with the fastpass people, leaving us peons in line. After an hour we got our car. The car turned out to be a bit of a junker. This is probably Jeep's fault for designing a poor transmission. My Jeep Patriot couldn't pick a gear to save it's life, and the car sat at 4000 rpm when cruise was on. At least I know to never buy a low-end Jeep SUV.

Cons: Check-in took way too long and the location was out of cars in some cases

Cons: Check-in was terrible. We waited 3 hours to get our car. The counter was understaffed for the volume of customers. We were told they had the same problem the day before and did not plan for it. Our car was not available, so an upgrade was offered. The vehicle was determined to be out of service. We were then offered an upgrade but the car had to come from Avis.

Cons: Somehow in the online reservation process with Kayak, the reservation for the 2nd vehicle we needed was "lost", so we were desperately trying to get a second rental as we traveled to Hawaii. They did upon arrival, HOWEVER, the cost was DOUBLE what the cost was for the first car!!! Definitely feel we were "ripped off" just because of our situation. Pretty sad when you pay over $2,000 for 6 days for 2 vehicles and yet we paid approximately $4,500 for 6 nights in a house for 9 people. There's something very wrong with this -- I think Budget is making big bucks off travelers!! Quite sad!!

Cons: not surprisingly, a little cramped in back seats

Cons: Was told by sales clerk that you needed a 4WD in Hawaii due to unpaved roads. We were upsold to upgrade to the only Jeep left for over 2X the price of our original reservation. We were told this Jeep had an automatic roof. The Jeep had a difficult to manually remove 2 section roof. The roads on Hawaii are almost all paved and a 4WD is in fact not necessary. Moreover, driving on an unpaved road was in fact not even allowed per the fine print! Terrible to navigate phone customer service, wasted 2 hours of our time and passed us from rep to rep until one finally admitted they can't do anything. I guess they hoped the customer would just tire and give up?

Cons: Car was banged up, bald tires.

Cons: car was heavily infested with cockroaches - not acceptible for $500 rental. they got into everything. could not have food in vehicle

Cons: When we dropped off the car the staff member outside was not particularly friendly or helpful.

Cons: No one to answer the phones unfortunately so I couldn't get in touch with them from the mainland. It all worked out in the end though.

Cons: No car orientation, however being a person that thinks I know it all would have likely rejected it. Took a long search to find the window power buttons.

Cons: We rented two vehicles and BOTH had terrible brakes and made awful noises while braking. Called to get switched and no one would answer the phone. When we returned to complain, there was a long line out the door. Will not rent from Budget

Cons: 2 hour+ wait in Kona, Hawaii to get to front of line to pick up my reserved car. Lots of angry people waiting along with me. Agent was in no hurry to move people along. No gas cap on vehicle. Small roach crawling around back seat.

Cons: Terrible check in service, three agents behind desk all talking with each other - waited 10 minutes for service, only person in line. Car was very dirty.

Cons: Pickup process everyone was in the same line. No chance to expedite the process before hand online. Had to wait 45 minutes behind tourists who didn't know what they wanted. Ended up being late for appointment. Would have taken any car.

Cons: The car was not ready for many hours after I specified the pick up time. The company pressures customers to buy their insurance which was almost half the cost.

Cons: (1) The lady told me they don't accept AAA. (2) Car needed alignment work. It started shaking when running over 60 mph.

Cons: Slow service and car was full of roaches!

Cons: "standard" car was a buick verano which is much smaller than the toyota camry that was standard on oahu. we locked our keys in the car and called budget customer service and asked for help but they didn't send any info for over an hour, so we called and cancelled and called AAA instead. today over a month later i got a notification that they charged me $55 for the roadside service that I NEVER USED. I will be calling to complain and get my money back. it's ridiculous that they don't keep good enough records to show that i didn't use the service and nobody ever actually showed up. AAA charged me nothing (I already had a membership which costs $49 a YEAR) and was much more responsive than Budget.

Cons: Needed a weel alignment. The tires were in very bad shape. The AC did not work correctly.
