Airport fees and local taxes should be included in the pricing for all car rentals, hotel bookings and flights. The Hertz at KOA hit me up for a $204 airport fee when I picked up the car.Reviewed 25 Oct. 2022

In general our rental experience in Hawaii was fine. Pick up was crazy due to the amount of customers and not enough rental agents. However, the agents themselves were very pleasant & professional, despite several disgruntled customers. Our rental was a brand new model, was clean and waiting for us after 90 minutes in line. Would rent via Kayak/Hertz again.Reviewed 11 Jan. 2022

I always thought Hertz had higher standards than other rental car agencies…. Rented a car in Kona Hawaii. I was given a 2019 car with over 33,000 miles. Disappointing. And what was even worst? The safety inspection for this car had expired 11/21. I rented the car in December… so, I was driving illegally until I was able to go back to the airport and switch cars. The agents response? “Oh. That must have been an oversight. You didn’t get stopped, did you?” I was lucky and had not been stopped by the police, but I can say one thing…. No more Hertz rentals.Reviewed 24 Dec. 2021

They were overwhelmed upon arrival, took well over an hour to get car. Car was cleaned in a rush, was in poor condition. Had confirmed an SUV but left with a minivan, no telling how long we would have waited for a proper car. Sales agent was deceitful in tactics to up-sell which I expect but selling pre-paid fuel when I specifically asked not to be was frustrating. Only bright spot of experience was their shuttle service drivers. Would not use them again.Reviewed 17 Nov. 2021
