The price I was quoted on Kayak was not what Budget charged me - I was quoted $400 and they had me pay $560. The car also was not the mid Suv I had requested, but rather a sedan. When I asked if the vehicle was a sedan, they said no, it's a hatchback. I was charged more for a lower level vehicle. In short, I'm unimpressed.Reviewed 16 Mar. 2023

Booked thru Kayak, but Hotwire was somehow involved. Budget didn’t have the kayak/Hotwire reservation details, so basically had to rebook at the counter. Also the vehicle rented wasn’t available, instead of minivan we got a passenger van. Big difference, those aren’t “similar”. Had I known the minivan wasn’t available, I would’ve have rented elsewhere. Very poor booking experience.Reviewed 10 Mar. 2023

When I arrived at the Budget desk, the wait was an hour as 2 of the 3 employees went away for 45 minutes. The online check in didn’t work through their website and app so express check in didn’t work. When I arrived at the desk, the attendant wouldn’t accept my physical MasterCard as it was and Apple Card through Goldman Sachs. She said that they didn’t do Apple Pay which is not how it works with the actual card. This was the card used for the reservation and there was no forewarning about card they would accept. They wouldn’t take another card number and when I asked to get an explanation or talk to another person, she turned off the computer in front of me and moved to another and called the next person in line. The customer service line had me on hold for additional 45 minutes without anyone picking up. I wound up having to rent from another company costing hundreds more and the 3 hour delay made it so I missed skiing that day which was the purpose of the trip. Very disappointing in general and the customer service overall was horrible.Reviewed 9 Mar. 2023

Waited an hour in line only to be told by the extremely rude employee that there wasn’t a car for me unless I wanted to wait at least another hour for a car to be ready or pay double the rate for a different car.
