Pros:The staff was very friendly and the pick up and drop off was very easy and convenient...Cons:The cleanliness inside was completely undesirable and scary....Chips between the seats, seates on front passenger side sticky as well ad steering wheel...Foot print on dashboard and front windshield and sand every where in the car including seat, shifter area and dashboard console areas too..Just about everywhere..being the times of Covid-19 it was surprising to get a vehicle that dirt, fortunately I had a pack of hand sanitizer wipes that my wife had pack to disinfect the car and wipe everything down befor I drove off. Spent 30 minutes just clean the seats to put my backpack down and used a remaining wipes to clean and disinfect the vehicle. I'm a Hurst car rental and was a bit disappointed of there sister companies cleanliness ethics...Reviewed 20 Feb. 2021

Pros:At pick up the lady was talking very quiet I can barely hear her through the mask she was extremly unhelpful when I was asking her questions about the pricing looked like she was very uninterested.Cons:The car was broken, every time I turned it squeaked so loud sand when I used the break, gas cover broken, was very small for a full size suv could not even fit 7 passengers comfortably forget luggage. And the worst it smelled so bad of cigarette smoke we could not bare sitting in the car for the first few days even after that it got better but still smelled, every time you parallel park the entire block needs to hear you and see that you have a broken car, very uncomfortable, will never rent from them. and now I know why they were the cheapest after all the fees that were added I ended up paying much much more then advertisedReviewed 2 Mar. 2021

Pros:I am a pilot. My company sent me to ORD instead of MIA at the last minute, so i didn't get the car. Policy states: no refund, no cancellation. So i lost my money. I will never use Dollar again.Cons:Use Sixt rental. They refund and allow cancellation.Reviewed 25 Feb. 2021

Cons:The car we were provided (Toyota Sequoia) had a check engine light on and the manager, Wayne, refused to swap us to another vehicle that fit our family. Instead he was demanding we paid an upgrade fee and go to a suburban. We sat in the airport for 2 1/2 hours on the phone with corporate trying to complain. Corporate was of no support. Finally an employee went to the back and found an expedition and let us take it at risk to his own job. The car fit our family but had a brownie stuck to the backseat and had clearly not been cleaned. I believe this is because the employee had to take it from the prep line to give it to us. The sort of behavior is absolutely unacceptable and is a terrible representation of both budget and thrifty as the manager wore both emblems. This individual has no business dealing with the public and was clearly out to gouge people in need. We sat sweating in the airport with a small baby and for other children for over two hours because of the managers unwillingness to take responsibility for a broken vehicle. He told us to take the broken vehicle and then pull over to the side and immediately call roadside assistance and they would be able to swap us out for another vehicle. I was not going to be stuck on the side of the road in Miami by the airport with five children Waiting for roadside assistance that is insane.Reviewed 13 Feb. 2020

Cons:I was lied to about the toll situation in South Florida. I was told I would hit 7 tolls between Miami and Key West. I was told I would pay $10 per occurrence if I didn't accept its toll program. After driving to Key West and noticing I did not hit a single toll, I called the number on my rental agreement to cancel the remainder of the toll policy, since I was paying $10.99 per day and had 6 days remaining of my 12 day rental. I was staying in Marathon Key, one hour and 20 minutes from Key West. I was told by the person on the phone that I had to either go to a rental counter in Key West or Miami to remove the feature. So I was expected to drive either 80 minutes or 120 minutes to remove the policy. I was given a local number to call, but I always received a phone message saying the location was either closed or unavailable. I could not leave a message. Additionally, there was something with the car that caused it to feel like something was stuck under the auto carriage one the vehicle went over 45-50 miles an hour. The return process was a fiasco too. I was directed to a specific location, and had to wait over 10 minutes to be addressed.Reviewed 13 Dec. 2020

Pros:Dollar Car Rental had reservation filed, check out at Front Counter was prompt except for...Cons:Salesperson added daily insurance charges of $30 per day to my reservation even though I had told him that I did not need it (I'm covered through my personal car insurance and credit card benefits), he also was pushing road toll charges of $10 per day which I declined and was not included. When I went to pick up the car, there was no one to assist you to find it, everyone that was there was scrambling to find their rental cars on their own, after a lengthy checkout process at exit stop (20 minutes) I got a car that: had over 40K miles, transmission problem with first gears and highway speeds, a flat tire on a Saturday which I had to fix myself since customer service could not pick up call because they were closed. There was no service until the next working day, a Tuesday since it was a Monday Holiday weekend. Everyone I spoke to upon returning vehicle refused to take my complaint as a report and was told by a manager that my contract was binding and that I was responsible for all charges incurred. This rental car experienced greatly diminished my vacation experience while seeing some family members.Reviewed 28 Feb. 2017

Cons:My flight was for 5 am and I scheduled to drop of the car at 4:00 am I got there no one was there it was to customers and myself looking all over to what we should do, we looked all over no one was at kiosk 30 minutes later we decided we're just going to leave the keys in car about the time I made it to the checking counter I wasn't able to board the plane with my 2 children. I was put in stand by flight order to pay $75 each 4 hours later and it wasn't sure if we were going to make it home that day. this is my experience with my drop-off TerribleReviewed 10 Jun. 2016
