The agent from whom I picked up the car was very good and professional. The agent with whom I dropped off the car, was not very professional. He would not answer my questions about dropping off at that location, and walked away as I was talking. Then I found out Avis had charged me extra for dropping off at another nearby location (10 streets away), from where I had picked up, even though that's what they had instructed me to do, because the location I picked up from, closes prematurely at 3:00 p.m.. I had to call in and ask for the refund on the extra $25 charge.

The car I was given was old and had a mechanical issue so I had to swap out at the airport. I felt for the money I paid the service and vehicle did not match what it should have been.

Hertz is THE WORST! They didn’t help at all and especially the lady at the NYC register… she was the WORST.. no help at alla and she never mentioned that the plan to leave my car at 11pm at my destination in orser to pay with a debit and not my credit card couldn’t work.. in any question I had, she djdn’t knkw the answer… disaster

Pros:

The pickup process was quick and easy and I was glad I was not pushed to purchase additional coverage and all fees were explained to me clearly. I also appreciated the prompt receipt sent to me the day after I returned the vehicle

Cons:

The address provided for returning the rental car was at least several blocks away from the actual location, which led me to circle around looking for where the actual Hertz location was. I also was not aware that the location was closed over the weekend, hence I didn't know how or where to return the car keys.

It was absolutely horrible. I didn't know when I'd be leaving/picking up the car so I made the reservation for earlier in the day. I had to leave later around 630pm so I got to Budget at 545pm only to find out the close at 3pm on Thursdays?!?! Are you kidding me? I tried calling other locations but all were out of rentals. I finally was able to get a car from Enterprise that evening and they were the only reason that I was able to make it out on my trip.

The rental location was closed during the rental time and directed customers to go to another location where they had no cars. I waited for 2 hours then went to another rental place and got a different reservation for twice the cost.

Friendly staff, but that’s it.

Cons:

Car died in the middle of the street in Midtown. Had to wait three hours for a tow truck that was promised in 90 minutes, in the freezing rain.

Pros:

Not an enjoyable experience at all

Cons:

Pickup — staff was both rude and incompetent. When picking up, I asked to change my dropoff date. After huffing about it, the staff person told me the new price... but conveniently forgot to update the reservation because I was later charged an early return fee. So then I obviously had to call to get it reversed — which no one likes wasting their time doing. Why couldn’t this have been simple and seamless, as usual? Only one reason - the staff. Dropoff — again, the staff person was exceptionally rude. She asked me to get in line when I was only literally mentioning that I was dropping off. Not EVERYONE is trying to cut in line all the time! Sometimes we just don’t want to wait for 6 other people to get helped for a 1 second FYI!

Nothing - I would not rent from Dollar again.

Cons:

Overall a huge waste of time. Very inefficient business. Long wait. Unfriendly, unhelpful staff (Evelyn @ 22nd Street). Car was not ready - they quickly cleaned it when we arrived. Rear left blinker was not working. Attitude when we asked to change cars given it was raining and would soon be dark out. Customer service was not helpful when we called.

The car was dirty when I picked it up. I found a kitchen knife between the console and passengers seat. Very disappointed

Staff was nice at pickup

Cons:

Car was a mess. Dog hair everywhere. Soda on ceiling and side of car. No windshield fluid and windows were filthy. Hard to see out of while driving
