I booked the car at Norfolk instead of Newport News by mistake. When I called upon arrival, Hertz told me a car would cost an additional $221. That is on top of the prepaid of $54. It was a one day rental. Went to Budget and got a car for $67.Reviewed 17 Mar. 2023

The car was at another site from the airport. I paid $15.00 for a cab to get to the Hertz site. I was informed to return the car on Sunday morning to the same location. In order to cancel my reservation a return trip to the airport would be needed. I had several meetings to attend that day. October 23, 2022, Sunday morning the plane departure at 6:44 am. I contacted via phone Hertz and was informed it was a prepaid account, I made an attempt to get a cab at the airport at 4:00 am, and no cabs available. I returned the car at the airport with Hertz. It was very frustrating, and uneasiness. How can I return a car at another site with no cab available, and the possibility of no one to pick me up, and to return to the airport. It would have been better for me to return the car to the airport. Eventually, I returned the rental to the airport due to no transportation to the airport at 4:00 am.Reviewed 24 Oct. 2022

I paid $350 for a rental to go on vacation. My rental was not available upon pick and no other vehicle was available. I didn't get my money back for 4 days. If I reserved a car, it should have been there.Reviewed 31 Jul. 2022

Only improvement could have been with their pricing. I ended up getting there 30min earlier than expected. Instead of saying no problem, I was told I need to drop the car off 30min earlier on return. They have every right to expect compensation for their product/services and if 30min is no big deal then the guy says well he's just 30min earlier than that (and this logic never ends) and Hertz could be out a significant amount of money. But it also took me more than 30min to go through the rental process, get the car, and leave the airport. It just seemed like the company wanted every $0.10 they could get. Maybe a little flexibility would have been better. Still no complaint.Reviewed 18 Jun. 2022

Hertz has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. The 800 number was not located in the US. There was never a supervisor available the 4 times I called. I used their email and it says they will reply within 2 weeks. It took them 3 weeks to reply by email.. I finally got ahold of them on twitter only to be ghosted. When I arrived to pick up the car, the exact issue I was trying to contact them about happened. Luckily the counter folks were nice, but it still resulted in us waiting 2 hours for our car to be ready…. Never again will I rent a Hertz brand carReviewed 5 Jun. 2022

I expected to pick up the car at the airport, but had not read the address carefully. The location on Military Road was very convenient by cab, and they gave me a ride back to the airport when I returned the car. The rate was very good. I may do this on purpose next time.Reviewed 4 Jun. 2022

Went above and beyond expectations. It was our first time to rent a vehicle for over the road travel due to an emergency. The staff at Hertz in Norfolk -Jacobay- and the staff member in Memphis who signed the car in welcomed us back home It was a nice touch after two rough days. Stay the course:Reviewed 2 Jun. 2022

Was told by Hertz that the insurance I purchased on kayak wasn't valid and that I needed to purchase insurance directly from them. They didn't have any cars in stock and I had to wait an hour for a car to be returned. When I got into the car it was disgusting. There was some sort of oil/fluid on the center console and arm rest, the car hadn't been cleaned.Reviewed 27 May 2022

The service was fine, but there was no shuttle from the airport to the rental location - I had to take a taxi while my wife waited with our son and all the bags plus spend an additional $30 and 30 minutes. Also, I reserved a Nissan Rogue (or something similar) but the vehicle provided was a size smaller.Reviewed 24 May 2022

Priceline did not tell me that my car was to picked up several miles from the Norfolk Airport. Hertz provided no shuttle service, so I had to take a $20 cab ride to the N. Military Rd Hertz location, in order to pick up my car!!Reviewed 20 Apr. 2022
