Pros: "This was an older plane with no upgrades including no Internet and the very small poor quality Monitors in the back of the seat in front of each passenger. The seats were very uncomfortable. The transfer in Vancouver after customs involved going outside in the cold to and from the bus. There was no warning. The customs area red jacketed help personnel told us that it was just as fast to go throught the general customs are instead of using our Nexus cards and this turned out to take forever. So very disappointing."
Cons: "Better communication at all levels. Remember that the overall strength of a chain is only as strong as its weakest link and this trip had many weak links for us making it a challenge."
Pros: "The crew were excellent. The seat was not very comfortable - it had a very firm seat cushion. The flight time was about 5 hours so it was OK. I adjusted to the feel of the chair. We had seats next to an exit door so we had more leg room which was nice."
Cons: "The seat was not very comfortable. The seat cushion was quite firm. I sat for 15 hours on a Qantas seat which was quite a bit more comfortable. There was no onboard entertainment unless you had a cell phone and could download the West Jet app. I was spoiled by my flight with Qantas from Vancouver to Sydney. They had touch screens on the backs of the seats so you could choose movies, radio, games, and flight info and the seats were much more comfortable."
Pros: "The crew were very accommodating as they were able to get me a wheel chair on short notice....thank you, thank you. The seat was not the best because the seat-back did not recline (we were seated in front of the EXIT row)....not good."

Cons: "Charging customers for meals on a transatlantic flight is a terrible way to nickel and dime your customers for the most basic provisions. Not all travellers carry accepted credit cards, including the woman sitting beside me. Because it is so common (formally standardized) for airlines to provide food on longer flights, many travellers assume their WestJet flight will the same and arrive unprepared. I normally love WestJet for their customer service, but these flight attendants talked down to customers with legitimate questions. I am choosing another airline for my next international flight, although reluctantly so - I hope to see some changes from WestJet for a more comfortable flight."
Pros: "First flight got cancelled. Mind you it was a 830am flight so I left to the airport at 5am. The moved me to 10am flight, then I get to the gate and get notified that I was put on the 1145 flight. The longest day for me in a long time for travel."
Pros: "That I didn’t have to pay extra to check my bike as luggage. The crew and folks who work for west jet were really really friendly and helpful."
Cons: "That my bike didn’t arrive with me on the plane and that it wasn’t trackable once I arrived so I have no idea it’s status. It might interfere with my ability to complete my bike trip as planned, depending on how long it’s delayed."

I was motion sick the entire ride, and no water was provided until four hours in, and while I understand it was due to turbulence, perhaps if it is too bumpy to serve water for the first four hours we should not be flying at all. Also very little food is provided for a 5.5 hour trip, two biscuits is not sufficient and as we landed near midnight there are not many options to acquire quick food either."

Cons: "Didn’t know I needed to download the WestJet app in advance - wish there was a way to download it locally from a server on the plane and/or receive a message in advance suggesting to download. I have now downloaded it after I got off the plane and looking forward to trying it out on the return flight"
Pros: "WestJet has very good hard shell seats on the 737-800. These are well contoured and padded, and far enough apart to offer decent legroom (row 8). The seating experience was vastly better than being in a “preferred” bulkhead row on an AC Rouge B767-300. Boarding was efficient so we were able to leave the gate slightly early."
Cons: "Pre-purchased meals are delivered with the first service after take off, which was awkwardly early on a five hour flight that departed at 3 pm."
Pros: "Due to a baggage check-in snafu, we were very late to arrive at our gate. But we made it! And the staff were still very kind to us even though we arrived so late and they didn't know why. The flight was probably the smoothest I've ever been on, and the snack and beverage service was just fine - I loved that cookies were an option and not just pretzels. Overall, an excellent experience!"

We boarded the plane on time. The pilot discovered a problem with hydraulics that was going to take about one hour to repair. We deplaned and waited about an hour and a half to reboard. The flight was smooth; the landing rather bumpy. The crew was wonderful.

I just for my TSA. So security line is short and upgraded to one group up. I do think the ground crew should learn new way of boarding - the passengers sitting in higher number seat should board first to prevent traffic jam.

The self check-in machines for AA were a little "buggy" and difficult to navigate but helpful staff was readily available as were the short lines. I am 6'2" and was impressed that I had adequate leg room in my seat."

They said that since no one had entered the mechanical failure that made us stay in Sioux Falls (also not Uniteds fault) that they couldn't give us rooms at a hotel. What a crock. We ended up having to borrow money from my in laws to be able to afford a hotel room for 2 days."
Pros: "The bar is pretty low with United. Even being a 1K member, I am usually just hoping the flight arrives on time. This time it didn't. The crew was polite, which isn't always the case."
Cons: "The flight was delayed. Not necessarily UA's fault but they don't make it easy on their customers. Their mileage program has so many elite members, especially in SF that even 1K doesn't give you a strong shot at getting upgraded."

Cons: "When I buy an apple computer and pay apple prices, I don't expect to open up the box and find a PC in there. When I bought tickets with Air Canada, I expected to fly with Air Canada, not United. I don't know how it's even legal for you to sell me one thing, have me pay for it, and then give me another. My experiences with Air Canada have been fine. My experience with United was terrible. Their check in devices freeze and don't give proper instructions or feedback, and my tray table was taped shut because it was broken. The tape looked like it was a year old. It is not ok to fix an airplane with tape. This is terrible for both of us. Now you - Air Canada - are sharing in United's PR disaster because you've effectively said buying tickets from you might just be a bait-and-switch for buying tickets with them. Upon purchasing tickets "your" customers have no way of knowing what they're going to get. I'd much rather book with an airline that sells tickets for its own flights, or at least tells customers when they're buying something else instead of lying to them."

Upon boarding the plane, there was clearly room for more luggage to be stored overhead. One flight crew member served complimentary beverages by serving the entire can. The other served by pouring only some of the can into a cup. Again, this does not meet industry standards, from the perspective of a reasonably well-traveled flier."
Pros: "I gave it a four because the airline put safety first. Though we had to change plane due to some funny sound made by the engine, the wait was worth it. The crew were helpful and the actual flight was smooth."
Cons: "Planes have mechanical issues, but they could have done more things at the same time like reboard while the post repair system checks ran and sort out baggage weights so that there weren't delays on top of delays. That was after not noticing issues with the plane until after waiting for late passengers and taxiing out. We arrived 4hrs late for a 3hr flight. They also only had one agent to rebook flights and assign hotels at the end even though they had hours to know the connections would be missed."

Cons: "This is minor: the small package of complimtary food (a sweet wafer) was not good. Something more substantial would have been appreciated for the long flight."
