Pros: "Seats looked new and clean. Flight came in early."
Cons: "The front desk gate associates stated that it was a full flight and there would be ZERO spots left for carry on luggage for me in the overhead bins. Therefore, I was told I MUST check my luggage, but there were SEVERAL open spots in the overhead bins when I got there! I do NOT appreciate this!"

Pros: "I liked that when due to a medical reason, I was able to be given the option of rebooking my flight even though there would be a penalty and extra charges and I would need to pay the difference."
Cons: "When I called to rebook my flight within the year and about 3 months in advance of the desired date, unfortunately Latam made multiple errors and also told me that rebooking flights only are eligible for more expensive flights. Even though there were other less expensive flights that I was able to find and see online, they insisted the only flight available had a price difference of $4,000+ dollars. the original ticket was around $550 so this was absurd. Not helpful at all, how frustrating."

But, again, why do I need to use my own device? Back of the chair that faced me was dirty and had food residue on it— hard to clean with only 5 minutes between disembarking and loaded next set of passengers."

Pros: "Even though there was no TV screen in the headrest, we were all provided with IPads to view. The controls on the IPad were quicker than the in headset TV's. The seats were comfortable and we all received a flight packet that included a toothbrush, eye shades, ear plugs and a pair of socks for our comfort! Blankets and pillows were in our seats when we arrived."

My baggage was misplaced, so I was delayed by needing to fill out forms for lost luggage. Thankfully, it was located before I reached my connecting flight."

The flight rep at the counter printed a ticket and told me the number listed on it my confirmation # and I should use it on my way back. That # was expired when I was having problems checking in online."

Cons: "I’ve was falling from the vent above my seat and into my hair and onto my lap... I called the flight attendent over to ask if it would stop and she told me it would not stop, it happens to any window seat because of the vent... I’ve flown a lot and NEVER had ice fall out of the vents repeatedly. Her response to my question was rude and she made me feel stupid for asking about the problem in the first place. The people around be we’re even shocked by her stern and rude response."

Cons: "I was given an option to change my seat at the check in kiosk, after selecting a different seat it told me they could not change my seat at that time. As soon as I boarded I asked one of the flight crew in the back if it was possible to purchase a cheese platter as I was really looking forward to it and was already hungry since I was trying to save room for it. She explained it was a first come first serve... By the time the lady got to the back she stood there for a while gossiping with another traveler without even glancing over at us and was holding our commentary cookies in her hand. She finally acknowledged us and when I asked for the cheese platter I was informed they had sold out... At that point I was HUNGRY and tired and honestly irritated that we had to sit there for several minutes without being acknowledged so she could gossip with a passenger. I ended up having to buy a box that I really didn't like but I didn't want to be cranky cuz I was hungry and I needed to eat something. Also, I had a middle seat ALL the way in the back of the plane next to a crying baby, which I couldn't change even though I was "given the option to." I have a difficult time flying if I can't see out the window. That just added to the irritation of the situation :/ I fly Alaska a lot and I was surprised at how bad this flight experience was..."

Pros: "N/A. Because of bad weather on Vancouver Island, my flight to Vancouver was delayed two hours and I missed my 230p flight to Seattle. Alaska had no other flights available from Vancouver that would get me to San Diego and other later flights that day from other airlines were over booked. I stayed the night and flew out the next morning on a direct flight to San Diego. The flight was fine. The flight crew was nice, they offered us drinks and snacks and the air condition worked. The reason I included the AC is sometimes it doesn't work and that's miserable. There's not too much else to add."

Cons: "I had booked my flight to take off at 2:30 PM, but when I checked into London Gatwick, my boarding pass given was 7:30 PM. Of course there's no Alaska desk so I couldn't ask anyone there. When I got to Vancouver, they said they weren't sure why I was bumped, but there were seats left on the plane. However, I had to go to the gate to change my flight because I had a checked bag. Got to the gate, and of course, it was sold out. And they told me they weren't sure if the 7:30 PM flight would be taking off. So I grabbed my bags, made my way via train/bus/hitchhiking across the American border where my dad picked me up. Never got a single reason why I was bumped in the first place."

Cons: "Check in staff at Assistance counters either had problems with their computers or couldn't understand reservations. We had a pet for which we had paid for round trip reservation months ago, yet agent took quite awhile to reconcile our reservations. We stood in line for nearly a half hour during which their were very long lines at each check in point and at least one or two agents left on breaks while the lines were still very long. At Burbank the agents were fast, accurate and there were almost no waiting. The flight itself was great and the flight attendants were excellent; but not impressed at all with check in at Seattle."

"It did not allow me to check in and left seats in advance or get a boarding pass. When specifically asked agent at gate for the row that had extra leg room, as my so. Is 6’4” she gives us a row where the seats do not even incline nor is there any extra room. Also the temp in Avon was high, making many passengers sweat Improve customer service !"

Pros: "Delta is the airline to fly if you have to fly (like I did) during a pandemic. They made sure at every turn we felt as safe as possible. They had passengers distanced from each other the whole time, handed out sanitizing wipes as we walked on the plane, made sure folks kept their masks on, gave us individual little baggies with snacks and water bottles that also had individual hand sanitizer packets. I felt so much more safe flying Delta on my way home to Hawaii in July than I did when I flew American Airlines on my way to the mainland in June."

Had to scramble so my 18 year old son was not stranded overnight in a strange place and Delta does not help. Only rebooked a flight itinerary for the next day for a 4 hour flight with connections on a 1 hour direct flight. Spent an hour on line to figure out what to do. #neverdelta"

Cons: "Even in "world business class" the pods are very small and cramped and there is no room to put a carry on bag even something as small as a headphone box. Also the business class bathroom was very small, very disgustingly dirty when we boarded (someone tried to clean it a bit) and dirty and small throughout the flight. The bathroom does not have ventilation and the toilet basically does not have any liquid for flushing!"

Cons: "I booked through kayak and received an e-mail saying "you're booked!" with a flight itinerary and everything and then I got to the airport and they told me I had no ticket to get on the flight and no payment had ever been made and that to get on the flight I would have to pay over $1000 for a seat !!!! The original ticket I bought was under $400. I was NOT happy with this at all - Kayak screwed me over and I expect compensation."

No airflow on such a small plane made it a very uncomfortable flight. Stewardess was impossible to understand and could barely make it through the required announcements. What words you could make out, she could barely pronounce them. Stewardess also served many people incorrectly."

Cons: "Flight was booked via Princess for a cruise. Flight from Vacoouver to LAX was through Delta partner Westjet. One schedule number and flight number for Delta, a different set of numbers for Westjet. Westjet requires you call them for seat assignment for a fee. Just not smooth!"

Cons: "The crew made far too many unnecessary announcements and the sound system was friggin loud. Everyone on the plane jumped and cringed everytime there was another completely unnecessary announcement. The seating area in coach was also a bit crammed. The flight was full as were the overhead bins so i had to stow everything at my feet and there was barely any room."

Qhen we went to board the shuttle bus to the tarmac we were.pullednout of the.line and made to wait 25 minutes and ended up.being the last people to board. We arrived at the airport 2 hours in advance and cpuld have handled this in.advance if we had been notified properly. The BA employee checking us in didn't care that he pulled us and made us wait.... we were very unhappy as to how this was handled."

Cons: "Boarding was chaotic - after having first class and preferred passengers board, it was a free for all for all other passengers, which doesn't make a lot of sense and caused a long line. Due to a malfunctioning piece of equipment, the plane was about 90 degrees during boarding and while waiting for takeoff, which was pretty miserable. Temperature was fine after takeoff. The plane itself was very old, seats were cramped, and the screens for movies/tv (and selections themselves) were very poor, which is disappointing for an 8 hour flight. There were no power hookups either, which my Aer Lingus flight a few days beforehand offered. I went on line and filed a complaint and lost and found report - am betting a large amount of money I hear nothing other than an automated reply."

They will lose customers to airlines that demonstrate that they care (eg WestJet) if they keep this up. This is not an isolated experience for me. They have lost us as a customer. I won’t fly Air Canada again if I have other options, and I’m willing to pay more for the same flight just to avoid them."

Worst flight ever. They did not have enough food on board either. At least the pilots were competent."

Pros: "They seemed like a good airline. It was my first time flying with them, and I got upgraded to business class on the very first flight of my trip. What a great first impression! They're quite service oriented, with attendants speaking multiple languages. The in-flight magazine was good but not available on every plane. The food was usually pretty good, and the live map was convenient."
Cons: "All of the flights were late (I had 6 of them on this trip, all thru Air Canada, and not a single one departed on time). All of my layovers were long, except one, which was planned to be about an hour but ended up being less than 30min. That one was a pain: had to go through Canadian customs and then run across the Toronto airport, but thankfully my next flight was still boarding - and ended up running late because they had to de-ice the plane. One of the flights ran late, and as we were reaching the gate a passenger felt the need to yell racist/ignorant comments at a fellow passenger who wouldn't sit down, and then the flight attendant - overall that was a real shame."

Our plane left 45 minutes late from Phoenix because of a gas spill so when we got to Vancouver from Phoenix, we had to go through customs which took extra time. When we first landed in Vancouver and before we even got off the plane, we had 5 minutes to board onto our next flight which obviously was not going to happen. We rushed through customs and still might have been able to board our flight at the last possible minute except the staff at the airport led us to somehow get out of the secure area and have to go through security again before going to our gate. That took so much extra time. This never should have happened. When you get off the plane and have a connecting flight, there is always a way to get to the gate to board without having to go through security again. When we finally made it to our gate for our connecting flight, our plane had left and we were told to go to the air canada service desk. There was about 10 to 15 of us that had missed our connecting flight because of this so the 2 staff at the desk were trying to help us all but had to wait for their manager to come and confirm they could give us another flight which took quite a bit longer than I thought. We ended up getting booked on standby on a flight straight from Vancouver to Saskatoon in 2 hours which was our final destination, but never was told that because of all this headache, we should have grabbed our luggage. We thought our luggage was going to go on without us on the flight we missed but apparently if you do not get on your flight they don’t send your bags which makes sense. We also had thought for a second that maybe our luggage didn’t go on the flight from Vancouver to Calgary but if it didn’t then someone would most likely put it on the flight to Saskatoon. We should have asked about it but they should also have mentioned it when we were in a panic. And I understand you can’t put extra people on a flight that is booked, but what if the plane we were on standby for was full and we had to wait even longer .. could have taken us a day to get home when this wasn’t our fault we missed our flight, but was air Canada’s."

I showed my passport 4 times in the process & finally someone helped me to fill out the electronic form. I made it to my gate in the nick of time just as they were ready to close the door. They radioed ahead to let 2 more people on that plane. Then I get on and someone is sitting in the seat that I previously purchased. The flight attendant didn't make them move either. Air Canada's practices suck! I will never fly Air Canada again."

Cons: "This review is about Air Canada from Los Angeles to Vancouver. Our flight was cancelled the flight for technical reason, without a notice. We found out when we got to the airport with four children. We were put on a later flight that also left Los Angeles later than the scheduled time. We arrived to Vancouver so late that we could not make the latest BC Ferry to Victoria that left at 9:00 pm. We lost our hotel reservation in Victoria. We were stranded in Vancouver till we could find a hotel that cost us an extra $600 (US dollars), an extra reservation for the ferry and lost a precious half a day of our vacation. When we complained about this wasted time and money Air Canada did not utter not even a clear simple apology. It offered a lousy discount on our next flight with the company, believing that we may ever use such an uncaring company"

On 2 of my 3 flights the staff were so wrapped up in there own life's, they did not manage to finish the safety checks before taking there seat. Overall a poor experience."

Cons: "Air Canada offers this flight DAILY. Yet somehow the boarding was the most excruciating tedious I’ve had to endure. Passengers who needed assistance boarding seemed to have to deal with haphazard organisation, and the fact that they seemed surprised so many people brought carry-on luggage that the bins filled up is laughable. Changed my return flight to Alaska Air."

Cons: "This flight was delayed by 45 minutes which made me miss my connecting flight. I asked the flight attendants if they could help me get to the front of the plane to see if I could catch my connecting flight and they wouldn't help me. Due to this I had to wait over 4 and a half hours at the airport wheee another 350 people were waiting for accommodations. I was in the airport until 4:30 in the morning because there weren't enough air cansas representatives. In addition, they were working really slowly because they kept getting up to chat with eachother."

For a 6:40 flight I got to the airport at 3:40, as instructed, and checkin wasn't even open. Per Air Canada's website "You should arrive at the airport three (3) hours before your flight's scheduled departure time. Pre-board security screening for departures to the U.S. opens at 3:00 AM. Exception: 20 minutes for flights departing from Toronto City Airport (YTZ)." Check in staff told me I should have gotten there 2 hours ahead. This is very conflicting. Considering I was heading to a 10 hour trade show, believe me that hour of sleep I lost between 2:30 when I had to get up for this flight and 3:30 when I could have gotten up sure was missed. Correct and consistent instructions to passengers go a long way."

Child stood on seat and jumped up and down, crawled under seats, threw ipad on my foot repeatedly, spilled his drink all over himself and his seat, screamed whenever his seat belt had to go on or his table top couldn't be down. At one point, the dad lost his temper, swore at the child, and covered him with a blanket in a big screaming match before doing up his seat belt--I was afraid he had smothered him but it had the effect of calming him down. No attendant even tried to intervene apart from asking "can I see your kid's boarding pass?" People should have to disclose when they are travelling with a child with severe behavioural problems and attendants should rescue anyone forced to sit beside one or at least make the parent care for the child. Also, a minimum of crackers or pretzels would be nice with drink on 5-hour flight. The entertainment system wasn't operating correctly and kept having to be reset by crew or reset itself. And, after first class etc. board, why don't they board the people at the back of the plane first, not the ones at the front? It took forever because people in front zones hadn't settled into their seats before people from the back zones tried to board."

Funny, it took me over an hour to find this out prior to the flight. The ground crew were all clueless if I could use my PC. I could have used my Smart Phone but it's kinda on the small side to watch a full length movie and drain my battery to 0. The Air Canada website was equally not helpful. I had to purchase their Ipad rental for $10 Canadian Dollars in order to watch a movie. Funny, they only had maybe 12-15 movies to choose from. Additionally, the bathrooms were disgusting and had broken parts everywhere. Flight was filthy. Looks like their just trying to scramble turning their flights around. I felt sorry for the people waiting in Honolulu for their flight back to Vancouver. Shame on you Air Canada. Time to upgrade your fleet please. You need to have better cleaning crews and definitely upgrade your Rouge Player system to accept PC's."

That is fine but they said they would not provide us with a hotel for missing this. Ok that is there policy but we ran to the terminal E95, for our Flight to Portland which had actually had not left and they were actually holding it for another person. So Air Canada lied about our flight leaving and that there was not another one till the next day. Overall I will never go to this airport nor will I use Air Canada ever again."

I was asked to take my headphones off during the safety speech, which I did. I put them back on after the speech and was yelled at. The lady in front of me had a dog. The lady across from me was talking on her cell phone. And the kids behind me were playing games on their iPad with no headphones and the sound on. No one said anything to them. Screw this airline."

Cons: "YVR airport's Air Canada staff was extremely unprofessional. First, they cancelled my original itinerary and moved me to a flight 3 hours later. Now I understand it was holidays so I was okay thus far. I got to the airport 2 hours before the departure time and even though I had check-in online, I was requested to get into "Check-in assistance" line instead of the "baggage drop". The "Check-in assistance" line had multiple people rebooking their flights when at the counter (on an average each person was being held for 15 minutes by the slow staff). By the time I reached the counter, I was told that the gate had been closed and I will have to rebook. The staff said at that point that it was "just the way it is" and their terms and conditions have this clause saying they don't guarantee people will be boarded. Well, sure, don't board them if they're late but don't delay them on purpose and then strike them off the boarding list. Very Very disappointed."

Probably will not fly with Air Canada again till corporate starts considering clients."

Cons: "On the flight from Portland to Vancouver, someone was allowed to board the plane and then leave, with no explanation, no accompaniment, and no way of contacting him. Consequently, our flight was delayed 3 hours while police and bomb squads checked the plane and all the baggage. Why was this person allowed to disembark in the first place? This occurred during boarding, so there should have been attendants there to stop him or at least ask him where he was going. And once he did disembark, why was no one able to track where he went? Seems like an odd security breach and, ultimately, a huge inconvenience for the passengers who remained on the plane."

Pros: "The flight was good and the attendants on it were nice. Wasn't too uncomfortable and in flight entertainment was pretty decent."
Cons: "We were delayed over an hour which in itself is okay as I understand flights get delayed and these things happen but the way in which the staff controlled the situation was horrible. They made multiple announcements making it sound like certain groups should go to the counter to be boarded (children, people needing assistance etc..) yet when these groups of people showed up at the counter the staff acted irritable saying they would need to wait their turn and that they havent even started boarding yet. This led to massive confusion and a huge pile up of people at the counter."

Cons: "Both dinner and breakfast were so bad as to be a joke. Tasteless chicken on pasta with a miserable little salad for dinner. Breakfast far worse, the 'continental breakfast' being a slice of banana loaf or something similar in plastic film and a pathetically small yoghurt. Crew didn't even serve pour row coffee or tea, totally overlooked us. My next flight was with SAA to Johannesburg - infinitely better food and attitude. Not that I expect this eeview to make any imnpression on Air Canada. THey are beyond help and frankly I don't care as I won't fly with them again."

The crew seemed to have trouble responding to things like...people using restrooms late during the descent, passengers making themselves a little too "at home" and thereby disturbing their neighbors, and repeated chimes due to an errant elbow on a call button...the little things. They are things you don't notice when a crew is highly attentive, as you find on Cathay Pacific, Lufthansa, or Air New Zealand. The crew were friendly, but not quite in charge."

Pros: "I honestly can't think of anything I liked, other than the plane arriving and leaving on time."
Cons: "The in flight entertainment is a joke, it's a 14 hour flight so why are there only 3 episodes of any tv show? The food was inedible, and beverages were limited to 3 choices coffee, water or juice. I was trying to sleep on the plane but every time a flight attendant would walk past me they would run into me (and I was very much within my seat) and wake me up. They also woke me up to ask if I wanted food twice. The seats were so uncomfortable. I'm an able bodied 20 something and if I am in this much physical pain from flying I can't imagine what an elderly person must feel like after flying Air Canada. The pillow that was provided gave me no comfort what so ever, it wasn't think enough to even offer some back support."

Pros: "Very comfortable flight - had the luxury of a row to myself in economy. Food and drink service was great and the crew were very friendly. The 787 is a pleasure to fly on."
Cons: "More movies and TV - flew with Air Canada 6 times in 6 weeks so I was starting to run out of entertainment options."

Pros: "There was a decent selection of in flight movies"
Cons: "-the aux plug for the headphones wasn't working properly. Resulting in me having to hold the headphones in place the entire flight -the first time the attendant went by with the food selections for purchase she walked right past me and went on to run out of food by the time I finally got her attention. -I had to ask the people behind me several times to please stop their child from kicking the back of my seat. Although the attendant made eye contact me one of the times she made no intervention on my behalf. - my return flight was in short: neglectful and arduous. I probably wouldn't recommend Air Canada after a flight like that."

Cons: "this was my second flight in two weeks that was delayed out of Vancouver. Last week to Newark we were delayed 4 hours due to a tire needing changing, got into New York 4 hours late. Yesterday, the flight was again delayed for 90 minutes while mechanical repairs were needed. Several people missed connections. It is making me think that I cannot trust the timing of your flights and as I am going to Paris through Montreal on Sept. 25th, I feel I should change my flight to give myself more time to make my flight to Paris. I currently have 1 hour and 5 minutes to make the flight. Do you think I should change my flight and will I be charged for it. Please advise."

Pros: "once i got through checking in everything was ok"
Cons: "if i knew the name of the man i talked to at checkin i would make a complaint specifically about him. i lost my passport a few days before coming home and went to the united states consulate where they told me to bring a printed copy of my passport and the united states boarding patrol would let me back into the united states. the man at the checkin didn't want to let me through to even speak to the united states border patrol and told me the consulate was wrong. i almost missed my flight because of his stubborn arrogance. once past him i was able to explain what happened and show what identification I had and everyone was very nice to me."

Pros: "Crew was nice and very helpful.. Nice selection of movies.."
Cons: "Food could be improved.. no flavor and it looked over cooked.. Drinking cups could be switched to paper cups.. or recycled one's.. Packaging and overall rubbish could also be reduced. 777 seats were to narrow.. bigger seats are a must for such long flights. Internet access could be free.. with a limit of course.."
