Nice short flight. No problems!😀

Boarding was a breeze. I like that they offered to check carry-ons. Considering we already had checked luggage it just made things that much easier. Drink options were good. I especially liked the bloody Mary mix with the lime packet. That was so delicious! Used to traveling other airlines where they have individual screens for each seat. Alaska does it different and you have to have your own device in order to access their media content.

Pros: "I liked that when due to a medical reason, I was able to be given the option of rebooking my flight even though there would be a penalty and extra charges and I would need to pay the difference."
Cons: "When I called to rebook my flight within the year and about 3 months in advance of the desired date, unfortunately Latam made multiple errors and also told me that rebooking flights only are eligible for more expensive flights. Even though there were other less expensive flights that I was able to find and see online, they insisted the only flight available had a price difference of $4,000+ dollars. the original ticket was around $550 so this was absurd. Not helpful at all, how frustrating."

Pros: "Even though there was no TV screen in the headrest, we were all provided with IPads to view. The controls on the IPad were quicker than the in headset TV's. The seats were comfortable and we all received a flight packet that included a toothbrush, eye shades, ear plugs and a pair of socks for our comfort! Blankets and pillows were in our seats when we arrived."
Cons: "I missed being able to see our flight path. On a long flight it's difficult to keep track of where we are and now much longer we will be in the air without the flight tracker. My baggage was misplaced, so I was delayed by needing to fill out forms for lost luggage. Thankfully, it was located before I reached my connecting flight."

Pros: "Flying Alaska airlines is always something I have a bittersweet relationship. I love almost everything that Alaska does to improve their airline. Their wifi is some of the best in the US and its very affordable. Their "picnic box" snacks are awesome and unique, better than what you will find elsewhere, they have USB and full AC outlets at every seat, and their rewards program is the best in the business. By all accounts, AlaskaAir would be my favorite airline out there. But the staff that Alaska hires is just so terrible. Everytime I fly with them, they have simply the worst staff. Pair this with some of the best features of any airline and it leaves me scratching my head on whether or not I want to fly with them or to fly with an airline like Delta which might have fewer frills, but offers much better staff to help you."

Pros: "N/A. Because of bad weather on Vancouver Island, my flight to Vancouver was delayed two hours and I missed my 230p flight to Seattle. Alaska had no other flights available from Vancouver that would get me to San Diego and other later flights that day from other airlines were over booked. I stayed the night and flew out the next morning on a direct flight to San Diego. The flight was fine. The flight crew was nice, they offered us drinks and snacks and the air condition worked. The reason I included the AC is sometimes it doesn't work and that's miserable. There's not too much else to add."

Cons: "I had booked my flight to take off at 2:30 PM, but when I checked into London Gatwick, my boarding pass given was 7:30 PM. Of course there's no Alaska desk so I couldn't ask anyone there. When I got to Vancouver, they said they weren't sure why I was bumped, but there were seats left on the plane. However, I had to go to the gate to change my flight because I had a checked bag. Got to the gate, and of course, it was sold out. And they told me they weren't sure if the 7:30 PM flight would be taking off. So I grabbed my bags, made my way via train/bus/hitchhiking across the American border where my dad picked me up. Never got a single reason why I was bumped in the first place."

Pros: "This was our first time using Alaska Airlines and they were great! Checking in online was easy. Flight attendants and other staff were friendly and seemed to have your best interest in mind. My husband and I had a 20 hour layover in LA coming back from Costa Rica and we asked if we would have to pay another fee to recheck our bag for the second flight. They were very understanding and waived the fee since our overnight stay in LA was technically a layover and we had previously made the whole reservation for both flights at once using their company. Overall we liked our experience with Alaska and would definitely use them again!"

A little rough over the mountains -- but that always happens to SLC. Our flight was actually early. Baggage was waiting for me at the carousel when I arrived -- and I went almost directly there. I've never had that happen before -- great. I will fly Alaska again."
Cons: "My only complaint was with check-in. I used the self-serve kiosk, which was easy to follow and efficient. The problem arose when I needed to check my bag. The computer instructs the passenger to go to the "baggage drop-off area," which I did. However, there was nobody there to receive my bag or to check my ID and give me a boarding pass. There was staff helping other customers at the "full-service" area, and I tried to get their attention. All I got in return was a head shake "no." This was especially frustrating since one of the staff members was observing other staff -- not actually working the computer to check in customers. I understand that she may not be able to leave her post to operate another post, but it seems reasonable to walk the mere 10 feet over to me to explain that I am in the right area and someone will assist me shortly. I ended up getting in line, which defeats the purpose of the kiosk, only to see a staff member show up to the drop off area. Going back, everything went fine from there."

Wasn't a very good selection of entertainment. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable.

We paid for preferred seating for extra leg room. On 3of the 4 flights the preferred seating were regular seats with no extra leg room. It was deceitful to advertise those seats at preferred seating. I would not have wasted my money paying extra had I known what I was getting.

It was hard to hear the PA announcements for boarding. Maybe also post the info on the screen? Or allow the attendant to pull down his mask when speaking into the PA system?

Our favorite flights. Straight shots, with as much comfort as one would expect.

Thanks for the wonderful service. Flight attendants were all smiling and very friendly. A very special treat that we got two snacks each which were very much appreciated as it was an early morning flight and we didn't get a chance to get breakfasts."

Cons: "The vents above my entire row of seats did not work, meaning there was never any air coming out even when they were fully open. This made for a long, hot, claustrophobic ride. The flight attendants seemed first disbelieving and later unconcerned that no air came out of our vents. I doubt they even reported them as broken after the flight. Delta's new boarding process is absolute chaos. More than half the plane had no seats assigned until 20 minutes before boarding, and the seats were displayed on a screen a good 25 feet away from the gate, meaning people had to constantly walk back and forth between the doorway and the screen. The gate agents were clearly overwhelmed. If this is how Delta is organized now, I won't be flying on them again."

Cons: "For some reason, the pilot couldn't figure out how to adjust the cabin temperature for the first hour or so. This made the flight (and I was sitting in an exit row seat, right by the door which is usually cooler) uncomfortably hot and muggy. Food? No food. Thank goodness for Delta Lounge (even if it was the one in PHL). Just snacks make this a poor option for many. I don't know what is up, but the USB charger on the two monitors didn't work and neither did the outlet between the seats. And I have two different sets of cables "just in case" and they're the 3-in-1 so I can try to charge multiple devices (Apple, Android and Samsung) but nothing worked."

It took,me some time to convince my fellow passengers that the loss of the APU was not a safety-of-flight issue. Also, a humongous passenger waddled down to our row and wedged herself into the window seat just before the doors closed. She immediately wanted to raise the seat divider, claiming that it was uncomfortable. The middle seat passenger insisted that she wanted to have it down, correctly pointing out that she had paid for a whole space. Despite the seat divider, the obese person's body oozed over and below into the middle seat during the flight, cramming the middle passenger. These folks Need to buy a second seat..."

I would have to wait until the flight the next day. Even though I had no bags and there was still 35 minutes before take off. I also told her I knew I would be late and so spoke to someone from Westjet he night before. She smiled like I was lying to her. Lines should not be so black and white. If she would have just processed my ticket I would have had 35 minutes to get to my gate instead of 10. When you are flying with half full planes there should really be better ways to manage customer service."

Delayed by 30 minutes....then the crew preboarded a sick lady and her travel companion. At some point crew decided she should not fly to LA, but the ladies wouldn’t get off plane! 45 minutes later and 4 RCMP show up to escort them off plane. Then we didn’t have any ground crew to get us off loading ramp. Finally got away 90 minutes or more after scheduled departure. Circled LA a few times before getting to land.... long flight with long delays!"

Cons: "Where to start. Booked a higher priced ticket as layover was minimal. Westjet later emails, saying layover is now 7 hours?!?! We booked a connector with air canada with only a 2hr layover. We decided to keep the checked bags on the Westjet later connector to be less hassle. Westjet agents at airport did not mention that you cannot do that. So it wasn’t until we arrived at the layover point, we were told we had to pull the bags and re-check them in with Air Canada, go through the whole rigamarile of checkin, baggage check, and security. Not something you want to deal with when you are at the tail end of a red-eye flight. So thumbs down. In Westjet’s defense, they did give me a 200 dollar credit toward a future flight when I kicked up a fuss about the change to a 7-hour layover."

Cons: "Airlines don't have small tv's to watch and give out cheap snacks. Flairaire is so cheap you even have to buy your beverage unless it's a glass of water. Wasn't overly impressed with this airline. Also getting your itenairy online was also difficult. I had to change email information and call customer service which was in Spanish not English language. Then while lining up at the airport to process and check bags there was no computer to self serve and get through the line up faster and efficiently. The main clerk that helps with the line up was rude to passengers. Stating that on a domestic flight you need to be 2 hours ahead of boarding. Which most of us were a good 90 minutes to pre boarding. All of the struggles can be avoided with self serve check-in and prepaid bag check. The flight and crew were friendly and pleasant."

There were a handful of infants and children (my 10 month old nephew included) and for the crew to keep the passengers on the plane for 4 hours when they knew the flight was going to be cancelled is unacceptable."

First time missed my connecting to Hong Kong and Bangkok. I know nothing perfect, but this seems to be the norm. Next time will try to find someone else to fly with."

This in turn made us miss a very important appointment in Ottawa. I’m sure the company loves that they saved money by combining those flights however you flunked the test with me. All the corporate could care less about me missing my flight after they look at the bottom line but I will be taking my $1600 plus money elsewhere in the future because of the aggravation, frustration and I don’t care attitude that your company has provided me. Cons: "1. I previously asked for wheelchair assistance for my father and when we dropped off our bags the agent said she would get someone and told us to sit in the waiting area. After five minutes no one came so I went to the assistance desk and they said they hadn't been informed so they sent someone right away. If I hadn't been there to ask, I don't know how long my mom and dad would have sat there. 2. The man who wheeled my dad to the gate was very nice and he said he arranged for all of us to sit together, which was nice because I wasn't able to sit with my parents since we weren't able to choose the same row when we booked. When we boarded, we found out that the seats hadn't been changed, and the person who previously booked the seat beside my parents refused to move so I sat in the row beside them. These problems were minor but they highlighted a lack of communication between staff and the attendant dealing with us wasn't the most friendly either. Cons: "I traveled from Vancouver to Edmonton today on WS 320 and one of my luggage was delayed. I had to wait through many phone call queues to get in contact with an agent and none of them were very useful. I was informed that my baggage would arrive in Edmonton at 5pm and be contacted to arrange delivery options but I had not heard anything from them and it is already past 8pm. I had to stay at home to wait for the phone call which resulted me in canceling my evening plans. The luggage contains frozen home made goods and various food items I brought back from my recent trip to Taiwan. With the food not being in a freezer for over 12 hours at this point they've likely all gone bad. I am extremely displeased with the bagging service especially when I had PAID to get my bags checked. I was told that packing food in checked bags comes with a risk and is a game but everything in life is a risk and I find that excuse from an agent very unacceptable. I am also very upset that WestJet does not offer compensation for food damages because the foods in my luggage are definitely worth over $200 and some are not obtainable in Canada."

By the time we picked up new boarding passes, we had already missed that flight as well and had to go to the customer service, which took another 45 min. Flight entertainment didn't work the first hour. There was a high pitched beeping sound during the whole flight (not the regular airplane noise)."

However in this case the security officer went out of his way to make the process as slow as he could. Very bad, stressful experience traveling on BA with connection at Heathrow."
