Cons: "The decent into Japan was pretty steep. It made me feel a bit sick and I never get motion sickness. Hardest decent I've ever had and I travel every 2 years. The ascent was excellent though and the flight in general was perfect."

Cons: "It was a packed flight. I'm assuming that given this, I could not change seats. While the ANA staff were helpful, I myself had trouble on this flight and became unwell. I sought help from ANA upon landing and received it."

Cons: "I was travelling with my twin 11 yr olds one of whom has limited sight. They normally only allow early boarding of young children, but we need extra time as I have 2 children to organise and my daughters sight dictates that i have to assist her. Other passengers were not impressed. I would like the airlines to take the initiative to have all children boarded early as if we board with everyone else, the aisles will be blocked as my children try to get organised."

Pros: "I've flown with ANA before and they never fail to impress. Service is impecable, staff are nice and the new boeings are awesome. Seats can be a bit cramped but we were in economy and it's a 9 hour flight so some discomfort is expected. The 3 meals served are complimentary and very much appreciated. The entertainment system is an easy to use touch screen with great options from Hollywood and other movie sources."

I tried calling and pressing 3 for English and no one ever picked up. Very disappointed"

Cons: "I travel to see the places I go, not to watch movies instead. I found the auto-darkening of the window infuriating as I couldnt look out to watch the world I travel to see. Pretty much makes flying a waste of time if you are forced to look at movies you dont really want to watch because the real reason you bought the ticket is denied you without warning it will happen prior to investing in the ticket for the route. Button at seat worked for a while to sneak a peak at the real world but then the system seemed to take over and tell me to conform with the demand I not look."

Cons: "Crewmen at the luggage/bags scanning were very rude. Our flight from Manila to Guangzhou was delayed by an hour or so. With all the pressure we were already experiencing and rushing to get to our connecting flight, here comes these crewmen in charge of scanning our bags we're all shouting at us to rush. The delay was not the passengers fault."

My bag didn't make it on my flight, but this was due to a tight connection and it arrived on the next flight."
Cons: "Immigration at Guangzhou airport was too time consuming for a 24 hour layover. The airline was convienent and cheap- but if it loses the convienence by delaying passangers with cumbersome visa procedures, I at least will transit through another country and not use China Southern."

Missed my connection and then had to argue with the manager for 2+ hours just to get a flight that wasn't a full 24 hours away. Was then told that they couldn't upgrade my seat because the flight was full, both business and premium economy had empty rows of seats. Throughout the experience China Southern employees lied to me and did everything possible to make the process harder. Had multiple employees just walk away from me without helping. Will never fly China Southern ever again."

Frills are nice, but not necessary, and do NOT make up for not consistently delivering these priorities. Not allowing the use of cell phones in airplane mode on-board was mildly inconvenient also. Having more than one bathroom on the planes would also be appreciated."

I was told they couldn't find me In the system anywhere and when they finally did find me they told me they had booked my seat onto another flight that didn't leave u til 6 pm and I would arrive home in San Diego at 10:40 pm. They refused to check my luggage because they said I had arrived too early. I wasn't too early for my originally scheduled flight! I now had to sit in the airport for 5 hours. I had to call home, arrange a sitter for my children whom I was suppose to see at 8:55 pm. They said there was nothing they could do about it."

Pros: "It had been years since we last flew UNITED. Honestly, we were a bit apprehensive after learning of friends' negative experiences but we moved forward with our plan. The flight was smooth, and ahead of schedule and the crew was totally on top of their game. SPOT ON!"

Your current 'zone' approach results in lots of waiting for passengers lo sitting in the back....as the front passenger's mess around, trying to get themselves situated...CLUELESS that there are a hundred others WAITING in the aisle, as they tussle with their sweaters, purses, tech equipment, etc. (if you get my gist!). Just something to consider....."

We landed at 5am, the transfer services open at 6, then check in opens at 6:50, but we weren’t allowed to check in until 8am because our flight was at 10am. We basically stood in line without anyone giving clear instructions and waited at different line ups for 1 hour each. Horrible airplane, horrible airport. Never transferring here again."

The restroom is also poorly stocked — no toilet roll constantly"

An elder woman was trying to get her bags and exit her row and passengers from behind were not letting her collect and exit. I stopped the rude people from the back who were getting off out of turn. Instructions need to be issued, let people get off the plane in orderly fashion. and (2) crew did not inform passengers what was happening with immigration and customs holdings things up until I hit the service button a few times. Tell the passengers what is going on rather than allow tempers to heat up"

Pros: "I love the fact that the program that launches the flight were pretty new, but the fact is; everything run like a well oiled machine. From customer service to departure everything went smoothly. Since the flight was brand new not a lot of people knew about they're great deal. I bought a one way ticket to xiamen because I will be working a school teacher. I didn't realized til later on that it's possible for someone with a z visa to receive an extra 23kg check in baggage for free. I contacted the customer service who replied within a day and everything was fixed. Now, I've been travelling a good amount to China and US, so far the food that are good is xiamen airlines. It's healthy, not greasy, and my stomach didn't hurt."

Need improvement: it would be nice if the flight attendant don't assume every Asian is Chinese. Over and over the flight attendants would suggest food options, snacks, and drinks in chinese. I understand this won't be the first nor would it be the last that someone would mistaken me as a native Chinese speaker. Overall, the whole experience was amazing!"

Cons: "Flight was Shanghai to Fuzhou, 10 hour layover and Fuzhou to JFK. Our flight from Shanghai to Fuzhou was delayed for 3 hours for "inclement weather" - it was clear in Shanghai. Flight company communicated to progressive, who the flight was booked through, that the flight would be an hour late, so I received a text saying new departure time would be an hour later. This was false. After that hour the only messages we were getting at the airport were "flight is delayed, new departure time will be announced later". We arrived in Fuzhou 3 hours later, at 0300. The bus ride to the hotel provided by the airline is one hour each way, and our connecting flight was 0900, so it was a waste of time to try to get to the hotel. This means we just stayed in the airport all night and boarded our next 15 hour flight with no sleep, no shower and nothing to eat. Customer service for flight would announce turbulence every 3 minutes, even after plane was having turbulence for 10-15 minutes. This freezes entertainment. Etc etc. many other small disorganized things as well."

On the return flight I sat on the aisle and got positively battered. I don't work for an airline but I can walk up and down the aisle without touching anyone! 4) The morning meal was a bottle of water, a bruised banana and a piece of bread with what smelled like dog food inside. Revolting. The meal on the way back was ... the same! Give me real food, a snack or nothing at all. It's only an hour flight. 5) On the return flight we sat at the gate for 40 minutes. No explanation or apology. 40 minutes late on a flight that was only an hour... 6) I had to ask for an arrival card as we descended. They could have been given out while we were sitting at the gate doing nothing for 40 minutes. 7) The only "entertainment" was about 15 minutes of commercials. My boss booked this flight for me. I will not fly with them again. They were so incompetent and overmatched, on a flight that was only an hour. I was embarrassed for them."

I do admit I am a taller than average guy, but if you are over 6' tall you will have NO legroom. And I mean none. It is an insulting amount of legroom. My 5'6" wife barely had any room, never mind myself. On my flight back, I requested an emergency exit row seat (as I noticed on the flight over the emergency exit row was filled with old people and young couples with babies/ young children). And was informed it would cost $120 USD per flight per person. My jaw almost hit the floor. You mean to tell me that the emergency exit row - the row where in the case of an emergency you are supposed to physically be able to assist passengers - actually COSTS money to sit in? That is an absolute disgrace. You have to pay for the added responsibility to help in the case of an emergency? Of course, once I was on the flight the emergency exit row was filled with old people and babies. All of course perfectly capable of helping in the case of an emergency. I was, and still am furious. The gall to charge that much money and then give the responsibility to people unable to help? Meanwhile, an able-bodied couple in the 20s is denied and I am cramped in my less-than-acceptable-for-budget-airlines legroom. And the food. Putrid. Inedible. It was somehow overwhelmingly fragrant while far too bland. Its hard to imagine someone putting together that meal and feeling proud. The meals all screamed "I do not care about my customers." In fact, that is the overwhelming feeling I got from Air China. An airline that truly could not careless about their customers. I would not reccommend. Even if they are the cheapest by a far margin. Stay away. Do not go near. Air China is a terrible airline that should be avoided at all costs."

Cons: "since this portion of my flight was cancelled by air china they tried to book me on the next day but my husband decided to come meet me in beijing after getting me a hotel and driver to pick me up the night that i was stranded. i told air china not to book me on the flight the following morning that i wasn't going to take it. they never did that and ended up cancelling the entire remaining flights on air china. this was the worst experience with an airline i've ever experienced."

The seats are the most uncomfortable I've dealt with on an international flight. And my luggage didn't make the connection for my Beijing-NY flight, so I had to deal with lost luggage after waiting at the baggage claim for a long time. Luckily, I live in NY and could have my luggage delivered later that night. Other people were not so lucky and were told FedEx would get it to them 4 days later. However, having said all that, I feel like you get what you pay for, and I got an incredible deal on this round-trip flight."

Something about the service lacks a bit of sparkle. I would have liked to have been offered some of the bells and whistles like a toothbrush or better headphones for the entertainment system."

We needed a wheel chair for him so we could race to our connection in Beijing.... they wouldn't give us one and kept bickering amongst themselves, so he had to walk on his crutches all the way to the gate... only to find out they changed the gate because our plane was broken. Only they didn't tell us that, they just kept saying... "you can't board". I could go on and on but I am still too exhausted from the experience."

They had a very limited selection, old movies, and even some American movies that weren't available in English."
