Pros: "Delta is the airline to fly if you have to fly (like I did) during a pandemic. They made sure at every turn we felt as safe as possible. They had passengers distanced from each other the whole time, handed out sanitizing wipes as we walked on the plane, made sure folks kept their masks on, gave us individual little baggies with snacks and water bottles that also had individual hand sanitizer packets. I felt so much more safe flying Delta on my way home to Hawaii in July than I did when I flew American Airlines on my way to the mainland in June."

Cons: "LAX security is awful. We never left the airport (arrived LAX from Sydney AU) yet were forced thru security again. Had to remove shoes, was scanned and "frisked" by TSA to get to Denver. To go to Australia, Denver TSA waived the removal of shoes, skipped the scan for the metal detector and no one touched me, ditto for LAX on the trip to Sydney. Where's the uniformity or standards for TSA?? Why did I have to be subjected to this garbage on the way home?? This is why I despise flying. It makes no sense to me. This ruined what was a great vacation."

Pros: "Had to cross terminals and the pathway was closed due to an international flight landing (poor planning on LAX part) so had to exit and reenter terminal through TSA. Flight delayed an hour then cancelled due to control panel failure. 10pm flight became 12am bus (and originally told it was 11.15pm bus which was "stuck in traffic" when google map traffic was all green). Got back to SD 4 hours after scheduled time."

Cons: "While my experience with Virgin Australia was good, I will not book with them due to the co-share with Delta Airlines. I missed my connecting flight from LAX to JFK due to additional security screening. As such I was advised to head to the Delta terminal to be booked onto the next available flight to NYC. After waiting over an hour in line to be seen by a staff member, I was told that they couldn't change my ticket as it was a Virgin flight. The same staff member didn't seem to even understand the concept of 'co-share', and also told me that because I booked through Kayak and not Delta that they could not help me. This makes me think that booking through a third party is a risky move. I was told there was absolutely nothing she could do, and that I would have go to a Virgin Australia Counter. This involved taking all of my luggage from Terminal 5 - all the way to Terminal 3. I was assisted by Virgin Australia, where they apologized for my experience, and confirmed that it was Delta's responsibility (and that they were capable) of rebooking my flight. Virgin booked me onto a later flight, but I still had to walk back to Terminal 5 (Delta) to give them my checked luggage. I was once again told that I didn't have the right ticket (details listed Virgin and Delta flight number - so this was way too confusing for them). Finally they printed my a boarding card and took my bags. I then ran through security and to gate in time for my flight. Flight was fully booked, due to a many people no doubt experiencing the same thing. Food was awful. Was a big step down from the Virgin flight in every aspect. There was not a single Delta Staff member who would even try to understand or be helpful. I will never fly with Delta again."

Cons: "Firstly check in was a nightmare, travelling on a Virgin Australia Flight from LAX - BNE and a connecting flight BNE - PPP (Proserpine) all with Virgin Australia, and they claim they don't have the ability to tag your luggage the whole way through??? (I understand I have to collect it on arrival into another country and then take to a bag drop) but with the same airline they claim they can't do this? I travel a lot and with many other flights internationally and I can tag my bags with different airlines all the way through, but NOT WITH VIRGIN WITH THE SAME AIRLINE ALL THE WAY THROUGH? They can't do it? Then 2 hour delay on the tarmac after taxiing out from the gate at LAX, which got us in late to Brisbane. The food on this leg LAX-BNE for the vegetarian option was terrible, which was strange as on the fist flight over from BNE-LAX it was the best vegetarian food on any flight I've ever had. Strangely 6 months out from our flight I tried calling Delta to upgrade our tickets and was told they had no way of doing it as the Delta computer system isn't linked Virgin system. Then calling Virgin to upgrade I was told I can't as it is a Delta ticker. We tried again a week out from the flight and got the same response and told to try at check-in. We tried then at check in and told they have no idea how to do this as only so many seats are allocated to Delta tickets and they can't access the Delta system?? So very frustrating and we could never upgrade?"

Hands down Delta IS THE BEST, there nothing better then having Free movies to pass the time, from TV to HBO and SHOWTIME and Current Movies in the theaters TODAY music, games, etc even free headsets any eye cover to rest ALL FOR FREE Delta isn't so worried about charging for eveything, a happy traveler is a repeat traveler, that is DELTAS GOAL Happy repeat travelers I voiced my displeasure with Hawaiian after finding out on my Day flight over I get charged $10 for blanket n pillow and free ( bad ) meal. Then on red eye home it's free blanket and no food, I can bring my own better food, and blanket which I do, but to charge for entertainment is the worst thing ever, AND EVEN FOR SIMPLE MUSIC WAS A CHARGE, SUCH POOR SERVICE Delta hands down IS CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED PERIOD DELTA DELTA DELTA I'M FOREVER YOUR HAPPY TRAVELER,"

Landed at YVR, went to WJ to find out about luggage. Told me I have to get a hold of Qantas. They had nothing to do with it. Went to Qantas was sent to a place that was closed. Two days later got a call from WJ asking why I didn't pick up my luggage. I told him the story. He kept saying why didn't I go to them. Because I was told it was Qantases fault. Got luggage 2 days later, damaged. I'm thinking maybe the case fell off the conveyor belt while loading in Melbourne ."

It’s been over 34 hours and still no word from westjet. Calgary is an 1 1/2 hr flight to Vancouver. Not impressed."

Cons: "I don’t want to give an excellent review because it leads to higher fares. But these people are pretty darn good we like to fly with them as much as possible. Two things can be corrected, however. Firstly the amount and size of carry on. If a bag or bundle looks really too big it really is too big. These people are so accommodating though they just let it go. Secondly, sometimes we check in early on line and we have a bag allowance. However, when printing a boarding pass at the airport if we say we are checking a bag the machine wants to charge for it. We always have to ask an attendant to clear this. Perhaps it’s time to fix this little issue. Like I said, I hate to give them an excellent rating because it makes it harder to get a good seat. The company is great and the folks working there are really great. Sorry to say."

She coped well considering there were multiple people asking questions at the same time. There was a small sign instructing persons who had obtained boarding passes and luggage tags to go to baggage drop but no signs or separate lanes to indicate where that was. Very disorganized. At the gate it was the same scenario. Agents at adjacent desks were calling boarding instructions for multiple flights at the same time. Our Vancouver flight was never actually announced but passengers all started lining up because the stated boarding time had passed. It was impossible to tell which flight was calling for which boarding zones and everyone was wondering out loud "what is going on here?" Once finally aboard we sat on the runway, our flight left an hour late and we missed our connecting flight in Vancouver which, I realize happens. However..."

The boarding agent at the gate in Los Angeles was one of the rudest and most arrogant men I have ever encountered. I complained to the plane's Captain about him, as he was going through. All the business class passengers around me were commenting on it. One was even filming his egregious behaviour for Facebook. He alone was enough to put one off Air Canada ."

Pros: "Flew economy from Los Angeles to Vancouver. Aircraft looked like a newer Airbus A320 with the new Air Canada branding (black lettering against white fuselage). Air Canada check in process has passengers use self service kiosks first and then take the tags and luggage to the counter. The employees at check in were all very efficient and made sure the line didn't get too long. The flight left on time. Every seat had personal entertainment system, and mine worked great. The flight attendants themselves were very professional."
Cons: "The in flight magazine was water damaged and somewhat soiled (probably from prior passenger's drink). I wish the on ground cleaning crew would take the time to inspect the seat back pockets."

I then told her that I had let her know that was my plan, but she denied it, then told my wife she was just one of a hundred people. This left my wife in tears. This was a stain on an otherwise good flying experience, but it' tarnished the whole."

At the front of the line, same rep told us "Oh it's probably that now you need a visa." - Why not tell people when they try to check in why there is an error? The new rule went into effect in December, and we hadn't been to Canada since needing a visa. Once we had been accepted, we were passed off to another employee who couldn't figure out why he couldn't check us in. Then another, who said "I'm only helping you because your flight is delayed, the flight should have closed by now." (Not exactly comforting, and considering it took them 2 hours to help, not super helpful either.) - When we ran to the gate, the people running the gate told us that the aircraft hadn't even landed, but weren't communicative in timing, didn't update the time on the boarding screens, etc."

I was late to the wedding festivities in Whistler that evening. Flight to Los Angeles: The plane was 30 minutes late. We board the plane and discover there is a sensor issue. We wait 30 minutes. then another 30 and then another 30 as more and more news comes about that the problem is not fixable. We de-board and have to wait in a long line at the complete opposite end of the airport. By 1:00am the line has barely moved and all hotel vouchers has been used. I have to spend the evening on a bench in the airport as a single woman- not comforting. I missed important meetings the next day as I am on the flight home. I understand accidents happen but it happened on both my way there and back. My flight home should have been refunded as it put me in a very insecure position and effected my work performance."
Cons: "A very obese man sat on my side and took half of my seat. The crew ignored me till we were on the air. They were very unprofessional. They found a seat for me. I approached them and told them that I was willing to pay half of a business seat, just let me go. The crew was unwilling and threanned me by returning the plane before it took off. Cons: "Where to start, I have taken Air Canada 1 time before to Regina and you lost my luggage, luckily it was on the flight home. This time check in was very disorganized and unprofessional (I got scolded when my luggage bumped the post that forms the line that was set up after half the passengers were there making the last to show up first in line.) The flight was delayed and hour for a broken air mask upon departure . The monitor screens were hard to see and harder to hear. Upon arrival we sat for 30 minutes because they couldn't shut the engines down. Customs was a breeze but the walk from terminal to customize to the next terminal had me winded, luckily my connecting Air Canada flight was late also . And this was the better part of my experience. My flight to Athens was miserable ( lots of screaming children spread out through the plane). And when I thought it was over my luggage was separated and lost for 3 days. Mushrooms all mixed in with the seafood, so I had to pick them all out. Also 2 of the accompanying sides had mushrooms. Do they have a mushroom fetish like Cheesecake Factory? Need more consideration for people who may have varying food requirements that are unavailable to address during the booking process. I know you can't please everyone, but why overuse an ingredient that has a relatively low appeal to potential passengers? Will try again, just hope they can use similar customer service in their food preparation as they have otherwise."

The internet did not work coming back from Central America so if you don't have the entertainment app already on your phone, you couldn't watch any tv since you can't even download the app. Other airlines normally have a monitor so their customers can watch tv and not stain their eyes looking at their phone. But with United, if you don't get beat up the airline, its considered a win."

The flight to San Francisco was delayed another 90 mins, causing me to miss my 15-hour flight to Singapore, although we arrived 10 minutes before the United Flight! Ten other passengers missed the flight! A travesty! Worse, with "no hotels available", I was rerouted to Chicago for a flight via Tokyo at 1300 the following day! In short, a 30-hour trip became 48 hours of hell and of course an 18-hour delaed arrival in Singapore. But there was more: my luggage was "lost" and thus arrived two days late!!!!! The only saving grace: friendly and helpful UA staff in San Francisco and especially in Chicago. Wow! I deserve some compensaton, wouldn't you all agree?"

I told him that I completely understood, and he AGAIN snapped back saying "oh really? Because I heard you were complaining!" And walked away. The rest of the flight he proceeded to ignore me. I had been nothing but polite to him. The lady across the isle was looking his way and the man next to me made a comment to me that I had done nothing wrong and mentioned he he noticed how rude the attendant was to me. That even if I HAD complained, he was in no place to confront a customer about it. Regardless, I hadn't even complained one bit."

Sent bag on another flight even though we could not fly out as scheduled. Therefore we were stuck overnight without our luggage, change of clothes, cell phone charger etc... Cons: "Next to my horrible experience with Frontier Airlines, this 4-hour United flight from LAX to O'hare was among the worst flights comfort-wise I've ever had. What is with the lightweight, streamlined child-sized seats on airplanes these days? Are you really that tight on money, United? Upon boarding, there was NO room for my single carry-on; a backpack with a macbook and camera gear in it. The flight attendant tried to help finding a place but had to resort to offering to check the bag. With over $4,000 of gear inside I politely declined the crew handling it... Looks like its going under the seat in front of me. Normally on any flight, I can fall fast asleep after take off, and wake up 20 minutes before landing. These seats were so god-awful that 15 minutes in my back was cramping, and 20 minutes later my bum was throbbing with discomfort. This went on for literally the entire flight, even with breaks to stand up in the cramped airplane. I had to share a park-bench style armrest with two people, and to make matters worse, the seats didn't recline. The airplane was hot, airflow poor, and overall comfort at an all-time low. These may seem like minuscule complaints, but for me; they're important. I was happy that I was finally flying with a major airline, for a decent price, thinking that I'd be comfortable all the way home. Not the case apparently for United Airlines. I quit flying frontier awhile back for business, and have no added United to the list. I think I'll stick with southwest and virgin from now on."
