  • Which flights to the Philippines with a layover are the most convenient?

Air Canada and Cathay Pacific offer flights to the Philippines with a short layover in Hong Kong, arriving either at Manila Airport or at Mactan-Cebu International Airport. Several Asian national carriers such as Japan Airlines, China Eastern and Korean Air also offer one-stop flights from Canada to the Philippines with a layover in their respective cities.

  • Where should I fly to in the Philippines?

This gives travellers easy access to Manila and the surrounding areas, and serves as the hub for other domestic airlines such as Air Asia Philippines, Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines. From there, you can easily access the centrally located tourist islands such as Bohol and Boracay.

  • Do I need a visa to visit the Philippines?

Canadian passport holders do not need a tourist or business visa for a stay of up to 30 days. Be aware that you have to pay a departure fee of ₱750 (approximately C$ 20) in Manila and ₱850 (approximately C$ 22) in Cebu.

  • Do you require a child seat when driving with your kids from Manila International Airport (MNL) to the city centre?

All car rentals in Manila avail child seats, infant seats, and booster seats at a small fee per day.

  • Do you require a visa to fly to the Philippines?

You will not require a visa when booking flights to the Philippines if you are visiting the country for a period not exceeding 30 days. This applies to all travellers visiting the Philippines for different purposes, including tourism and business.

  • The Philippines is home to over 7,000 islands, so generally travellers require more than one flight over the duration of their trip. Manila Airport (MNL) is the main international hub, where you can catch flights to other domestic locations such as the centrally located Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) on Cebu Island, or Davao International Airport (DVO) in the South.
  • If you plan on visiting the world famous Banaue Rice Terraces in the northern part of Luzon Island, you can either fly to Manila Airport and travel by bus (a 10-12h ride) or consider flying to Cauayan Airport (CYZ), where you can arrange a private transfer from the airport (approximately 2h).

The other major arrival airport for flights to the Philippines is Clark International Airport (CRK). The advantage of landing at MNL is that it puts you in the capital of the Philippines, Manila, with a wide range of transport options for convenient connections to other cities.
  • Choosing a less popular route for flights to the Philippines increases your chances of getting cheaper flight deals. The route that has Clark International Airport as the arrival airport is less popular compared to the one that has MNL as the arrival airport. Additionally, landing at CRK comes with the advantage of shorter queues at the airport shuttles’ stops, baggage claim areas, and security checkpoints.
  • Most of the airlines offering flights to the Philippines make two stops before arriving at the destination airport. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Incheon International Airport (ICN) are the main layover airports for multiple airlines offering flights to the Philippines. However, your journey will be shorter if you book Air Canada or ANA, which makes only one stop before arriving in the Philippines.

Other than spotty internet, great servic, comfortable and smooth flight!

Nothing more to say. I was completely happy with their services.

Crew was good. Sometimes food was eh. The spaghetti is gross for me. First time i got food, they didn’t provide utensils so i ate with my hands. I was hungry. They gave it to me 20 mins later when a crew member came by. I would fly with them again. Nobody is perfect

Service was great didn't leave on time was not good

I always preferred EVA air every time I visit Philippines. It’s just this time that I have to be very early to make sure that I don’t miss my flight due to TSA problem. There’s only one choice of food serve which you use to have 2 on our flight from Taiwan to Philippines . Otherwise I will still use EVA air in my future flight.

EVA canceled me out of the return flight from Manila to Spokane so we had to rebook and repay. Very unprofessional!! Still have not returned home!!

Overall was good but it would be good if the airline is providing snack such as sandwich or instant noodle between meals for LA to Taipei

More new and classic movies in English. Boarding was a bit chaotic. Nore, clearer information during boarding to customers.

Amazing flight crew 👏 one of the best in the air.

Flight attendants were very helpful and nice. Would be nice to board on time.

Very long flight time. Still better than a connection flight. Staff is very good at service. Vegetarian food is not very good.

Always on time and flight crew were great. Boarding in Manila was a bit chaotic and disorganized compared to Incheon.

Flight crew were very attentive and made this trip a pleasure. Plus the fact that this our first time flying business class.

Great service and comfort level. You can have more of vegetarian food options.

Korean are so racist and when I ask question or directions they totally ignore me and say racist. Also they give me an rude attitude.

They were trying to get people to check luggage because the over head compartments were full but when we boarded there were lots of empty places that people could have put the luggage.

There could have been better spacing of the passengers, it was crowded in some parts of the plane then other while rows were empty

It was good, I liked the self-serve snacks but it was a little difficult to get the alcohol, which is understandable since I wouldn't want kids sneaking it.

Plane took off on time and I had the whole row to myself!

One of the flight attendants stepped on my foot. I was on the aisle seat. A lady inside needed to get out. So Instood. Just then, a flight attentendant came wuicklybtheoughbthe aisle and stepprd on my sock covered toes. I let out a small sound. She stopped momentarily, but didn’t ask how I was just took off of the aisle. Never came back to see how I was. Fortunately, I was not really hurt other than a slight soreness in my toes. But I found that to be very negligent.

I do not think there was much that could have been done to make it better. The delayed flight was due to bad weather. The turbulent patches were very unavoidable. Am simply thankful that there were no sudden and / or sharp drops during the flight. I do extend my compliments to captain Marcus I believe was his name and the rest of the crew. They all did an excellent job. My only question is whether I get a refund since the seats I had chosen and paid for were reassigned.

I spent 45 minutes with supervisor trying to get 2 bags checked for this international flight . He wouldn’t give it to me because West Jet was involved in this booking.

Missed our flight with Cathay due to late Westjet plane and chaotic Toronto airport. Had to clear customs get bags and re check bags in an hour. Did not make it got lost not clear signage with bag drop off. West jet only allowed 1 checked bag for this international fluid. Cathay checked my second bag for free.

Crew were not engaging. Only engaged if requested. Food taste was mediocre

My seat had many issues. First the chair was broken where reclining was difficult. My usb plug was also broken so charging was impossible.

Great. We received a meal even though it was a short flight.

Boarding on any airline is a hot mess. Load your pivilaged passengers, then back to front. Back to front.

Flights home are always happy, except this time I was traveling to be with my ailing father.

The flight experience was good for a long flight over the pole, but it got my wife to the Far East in time.

I love the comfortable business class seats. The service was excellent. Staff was friendly.

Starlink is great Crew was polite Business class didn’t get a welcome drink just water and snacks were ok

very average service no complimentary alcoholics drinks unlike other airlines such as Porter airlines No decent seats available during check-in time the day before

Good but airlines getting smaller. I didn't like the meal but the service was fine. Flight was fine and luggage arrived. So good.

They were fast and I like how they used to entertainment system to play video about the safety.

Flight delayed. Connecting to night flight was stressful but made it. Jusr in time. Ran.88Flight was fine.

The aircraft was older, had limited entertainment options and no wifi on board. The flight attendants weren't the friendliest, but they were okay. Overall an okay flight.

Hopped on time for the flight only to get deplaned and delayed another 2.5 hours.

Given I (and I’m assuming most people) have both carry in and a personal item included in their fare, I find it very unfair that on neither of my flights I was able to use the overhead for my small backpack because they were completely rammed with luggage, people personal items, jackets, hats and other items. So the only item I brought in had to be stuffed under my seat while they had their leg room and sat comfortable with all of their items in the overhead. This has to stop because I was uncomfortable on both flights when I only had one smaller item that could not be checked due to its contents (medication etc). Plenty of people could have checked theirs but chose not to and then took up the space allotment for 2 people.

Flight attendants had a little attitude. Food tastes no good.

From pre boarding to flight attendant, crew and baggage handler, excellent. Didn’t lost my luggage like West jet.

Great food selection in lounge. Excellent bartender, friendly staff. Good service on the plane.

Check in process was excellent. Lounge needs improvement. Food not palatable and no good choices.

Apart from a departure gate change, a good experience with professional, friendly staff.

I like the pleasantness of how courteous and friendly and helpful everyone is

It was never explained why the departure flight was canceled and delayed for 1.5 hours. It would have been nice to stick with the original itinerary.

Many movies do not have captions, which would have been helpful when you have to live with the flight engine noise.

Everything was fantastic!!!! I can’t wait to fly home 😃!!!!!

Plane are getting old, almost an hour delay due to technical reson , after all passenger aboard. Took 4 flight on business class this trip and all the planes had an issues. PAL need to improve their planes.

It’s sad how legacy airlines feel like budget airlines now. Cramped space Non reclining seats No inflight entertainment (need to connect via your own device) Saving grace is the crew. Truly nice and sincere service.

Short flight with limited entertainment wasn't that bad. Staff was friendly and plane was clean. Meal was good.
