FAQs - booking Nova Scotia flights

  • Will there be a lounge at Edmonton Airport (YEG) for me to wait for my flight to Nova Scotia?

If you want to relax or get some work done before your flight, you can pay for access to the Plaza Premium Lounge at Edmonton International Airport (YEG). The lounge is located by Gate 52, and it offers workstations as well as comfortable seats, where you can also enjoy hot and cold dishes and drinks. It is open from 4:30 am to 7:30 pm every day.

  • Will I have to check-in again during my layover to Nova Scotia from Edmonton?

You may find that the best option for your budget or schedule is a flight with one or more stops. If you see a red triangle in the flight information on your KAYAK search, it could mean that you may have to check-in again, such as some flights through Toronto with Lynx and Porter. To avoid these inconveniences, you can set the Flight Quality filter on your search to exclude these flights.

  • Can I bring my pet onboard with me to Nova Scotia from Edmonton?

Many airlines welcome pets onboard their flights, but they may have different rules and fees. For example, Flair Airlines allows small dogs and cats in the cabin with passengers. They have to be in soft-sided, ventilated, airline-approved pet carriers, and you should pay the fee at least two days before your flight because usually only six pets are allowed per flight.

  • Are flights from Edmonton to Nova Scotia accessible?

You should let your airline know as soon as possible if you will need special assistance or accommodations on your flight so that the airline can make arrangements or let you know any limitations. For example, if you have mobility issues, Porter Airlines can have staff available to assist during check-in and boarding and have an onboard wheelchair available for your flight.

  • How does KAYAK find such low prices on flights from Edmonton to Nova Scotia?

KAYAK is a travel search engine. That means we look across the web to find the best prices we can find for our users. With over 2 billion flight queries processed yearly, we are able to display a variety of prices and options on flights from Edmonton to Nova Scotia.

  • How does KAYAK's flight Price Forecast tool help me choose the right time to buy my flight ticket from Edmonton to Nova Scotia?

KAYAK’s flight Price Forecast tool uses historical data to determine whether the price for a flight to Nova Scotia from Edmonton is likely to change within 7 days, so travelers know whether to wait or book now.

  • What is the Hacker Fare option on flights from Edmonton to Nova Scotia?

Hacker Fares allow you to combine one-way tickets in order to save you money over a traditional round-trip ticket. You could then fly to Nova Scotia with an airline and back to Edmonton with another airline.

  • What is KAYAK's "flexible dates" feature and why should I care when looking for a flight from Edmonton to Nova Scotia?

Sometimes travel dates aren't set in stone. If your preferred travel dates have some wiggle room, flexible dates will show you all the options when flying to Nova Scotia from Edmonton up to 3 days before/after your preferred dates. You can then pick the flights that suit you best.

Really good! I like all the crew, they were so nice and very efficient.

Food tasted pretty good. Boarding was very smooth and efficient, compared to all other airlines I’ve been on. I have flown EVA, Cathay, Asiana, British Airways, and many USA brands. Cabin attendants were also efficient and professional.

On time departure and exceptional customer service during the entire flight.

My flight with Korean Air went quite well, I've flown with them for many years and have grown accustomed to their great service.

The flight crews were extremely professional helpful and courteous. Departure and arrival times were accurate. No delay. Thanks

Everything about Korean air is great, hands down! Will always prefer this airline from other carriers.

I enjoyed flying on Korean Air. The service was great and the food was yummy. They served white fish.

Ford not that great the seat not to big for leg room like other airline

Crew was ok, but some passengers were a bit rude. Again, all outlets were not working, only the really slow charging usb plug on the entertainment system. Entertainment system was also bugged, some features just crash, the touch screen wasn't working and when trying to watch a movie the onscreen display kept flashing off and on making it very difficult to watch.

The food was the only thing that could have made the experience even better. Everything was stellar but the food. The staff was superb. I’ve been flying with ANA for years as my go-to and I think I may have found my new favorite. 😍

Not many selections for entertainment. Bulk head seats are no longer available with out fee at the counter. That’s pretty lame.

Everything was efficient. Good leg room. Food was good. Staff were friendly.

I would have liked to know how to order a special meal (for medical purposes) before the flight.

Staff very friendly and helpful Everything was clean and most important on time Unfortunately let down by the quality of the food Would be very happy to use them again

Very good , the weather was terrible, but i admired the professionality and politeness and care from the crew, and the excellent contition of the plane

Comfort was left wanting due to such a long flight, made the wife and I wish we could upgrade the seats to Business class or First Class, but did not have that option. Food was good but had very limited options and I have a dietary restriction which was difficult for the staff to accommodate since everything provided came with cheese on it. (Cheese could potentially kill me) Did not have an option to inform the staff until we were already in the air about the restriction and was not provided another option before flight departed.

Decent flight, staff was very good, especially with the turbulence during the flight due to weather. Comfort was about par with other airlines but since it was a quick flight, was not much of an issue for us.

It was a 2 hour flight to Taiwan. Lunch was served. China Airlines goes above and beyond for their passengers.

Liked that I could pick my seat and have a special meal without an extra charge. Luggage is reasonable for overseas trip. What could have been better is boarding and leaving on time.

The plane used to go to Chicago was a bit outdated and needed a refresh

Onboarding process was great and efficient. Plane was very new and entertainment choices were great. The only complain is no meal despite it was a flight that is longer than 6 hours.

My connecting gate in .Chicago was across the aisle from my arriving gate. Otherwise I would not have made my connection. So that was very fortunate.

I flew basic economy, so it was what I expected. Crew was nice though, and flight was quick. Would recommend for flights under 6 hours, otherwise would upgrade to something with more leg room.

Bad, they delayed my flight, lost my connection flight had to stay overnight for the next flight and missed a lot of important meetings. 1 day totally lost!

Flight was delayed due to weather and clogged toilet. Had to deplane. Flight was 3 hours delayed. Crew was awesome and offered water and snacks.

Airline staff was good the checkin process was ok but the plane itself was very bad the comfort was worst it was worst and the most stiff 5 hours of my life i felt claustrophobic

Extremely uncomfortable sitting in a small space for 2 hours, especially for older people. Understood it was circumstantial.

Shout out to the check in counter staff in Richmond. So pleasant and helpful with ticketing and seat selection.

Everything got delayed we were supposed to land at 1pm and landes at 8-9 pm … was horrible

It was my first experience with westjet and it is really awesome to travel with westjet. I highly recommend to everyone.

I liked absolutely NOTHING, Westjet is the worst airline in the world, they should be ashamed, they treated me like dirt, let's put it this way, I am truly pissed off. If anyone cares about my experience someone should call me so I can tell how bad my experience was, what a shame

Wasn’t able to purchase wifi for entertainment so the flight was long

If I wanted to leave on a Monday I would have booked to leave on Monday. Instead, thanks the west jet i spent another night in a hotel on my dime because they don’t even have a number you can call that works. It’s just says due to the high call volume we can’t take your call, that’s it. Our a Canadian airline industry needs an overhaul.

Let people know if carry on is free when you are checking luggage

Over an hour late. Lousy flight attendant who was just going through the motions in every aspect of her job. The Dash 8 aircraft is super basic (no entertainment system, small seats, limited storage). Carry on luggage doesn’t fit in overhead bins.

Slow boarding process, tickets downgraded to Ultra Basic with no carry-on luggage, not enough space in overhead compartments

The agent denied our cat from boarding just because the carrier has to be slightly shorter to go under the seat. It is a soft sided carrier and WestJet had mentioned that soft sided carriers can be squished to go under the seat. So we had to transport the cat via road to YYC. In Yyc the connection flight terminal supervisor of WestJet was surprised about the edmonton agent decision as she said the size of bag should be 11in indeed so that cat can move freely even if the bag has to be slightly adjusted to go under the seat. Avoid WestJet - they are a dying organization with incompetent staff!!!... No guarantee the flight is maintained since the crew went on strike. Very unsafe and unpredictable business, a cancerous corn in the hands of Canadian business !!

The fight was delayed for 30 minutes. The Dash 8 Q400 was not my favourite plane it was very tight for space. Next time I fly with Westjet I will book a larger plane.

I got home. I won’t fly in a dash8Q400 again. It’s way too small of a plane.

The flight was booked solid and there is no leg room for anyone over 6 feet tall, which is probably 25% of your customers. I have selected aisle seats and was given the middle twice. This is not something that can be changed, so I shouldnt bring it up, but that is my feedback.

Our flight was delayed by almost 1 hour, and this negatively impacted our experience. Everything else was OK.

Flight was delayed, slow boarding, fully booked flight... No extra charge for beverages..

I fly all the time for work & am used to seeing "XYZ flight facilitated by XYZ airlines" (or similar) and it's never been an issue. This flight from Edmonton to DFW through Denver was very early - 6 am, international, so at the airport by 3am. The flight was booked on Kayak through Air Canada and the actual flight was supposed to be on United. I didn't receive anything from Air Canada prior to the flight, other than to check in via United app when I tried to find my flight on Air Canada app. The day of, we were all on the plane at 5:45 am, when the pilot came out to let us know that the engine had been leaking for some time, and we were now going to have to deplane and wait for the mechanic to arrive and evaluate. So, we did. Why the flight wasn't cancelled at that point I don't know. After about an hour, sure enough - cancelled, however at that point, it's late already to try and get onto a flight out of Edmonton (YEG) on a weekend, esp. since post-COVID it doesn't seem that YEG has fully recovered in terms of flights and airline availability. Trying to get back to DFW took me the rest of the weekend from Sat am at 6 to Sunday pm - late, included renting a car on my own dime and driving to Calgary (YYC) which has more flight availability, as well as another night's hotel also on my own dime. I found some help on the United app - the chat personnel did try to help find some way home. When I called Air Canada after I couldn't get a flight through United - they were quite rude and short on the phone, letting me know that it was my problem (and United's) not theirs. Since Air Canada booked the ticket and took my money I would expect that if nothing else they would try to be of some help. I am so disappointed in Air Canada and their customer service, btw - my follow-up email to them for some type of resolution or acknowledgement was acknowledged by the system as having been received but as of this point - 5 days later - no response.

Horrible airlines... did not compensate me for hotel or food even though my flight was delayed by more than 24 hours

My flight was delayed in Calgary and I missed my connecting flight to Cincinnati. I was rebooked on a flight the following day. I did not receive a food or lodging voucher.

3 delays on my flight. The cabin was cold and noisy.

I called to put a stop to this ticket because it was fraudulent. Nobody stopped it. Then they sent me to Mastercard to fight it alone. Thanks (Sarc) to everyone who helped facilitate fraud and would not dare attempt to stop it.

Four hour delay, no communication and multiple reasons for delay. Rude counter person even though I had a business class ticket. Bad experience all around.

Delayed twice, and as always, planes are cramped and too crowded, for the high price of a ticket, air travel in Canada is horrible service and value.
