Pros: "The crew was polite, even with the numerous delays. Other than that, the multiple delays (3; 8:30 -> 11:30, 11:30 -> 13:05, 13:05 -> 15:30) rubbed me the wrong way and lessened my experience with West Jet. Kayak was very responsive and reliable on their end."

Pros: "The crew was kind when they gave me an extra bag of pretzels to calm my rolling stomach on a flight that while over 4 hours long does qualify for even a decent sized bag of pretzels."
Cons: "I think the seats on westjet are ridiculous, are they smaller than other planes. I was practically in the lap of the person next to me. I'm 5'7 and I couldn't even rest my head on my knees to stop the extreme motion sickness. I couldn't even finish my flight today because I couldn't stand the nausea and I couldn't rest in a seat 2 sizes too small for a regular sized person. I had to lay down and when it didn't subside I had to find accommodation. I will never fly with westjet again. But thanks you know for the pretzels."

Cons: "It took several hours for the decision to be made to cancel our original flight from PV to Van, and when the final decision was made, the complete lack of sympathy or communication came as a shock. No one informed us why we were moving to another terminal or that our flight had actually been cancelled and we would be staying another night in Mexico for another two hours. Getting our hotel voucher and transportation to the venue took another several hours. (Sorry Westin, but you also receive poor marks on your food services. Your front desk people were great though!) The following morning we were not informed that there would be no food service on the flight, so my kids were starving by the time we touched down in Vancouver. The ordeal was exhausting and when we finally arrived in Vancouver we almost missed our connecting flight because of a huge error in off-loading our luggage. It shouldn’t take over an hour to receive your luggage. Again, the communications break down led to hightened anxiety and stress. The whole horrible journey home with WestJet made the loveliness of my actual holiday pale into the background. I was very disappointed in WestJet as I’ve had fabulous experiences in the past. If possible, I will avoid flying with them again any time soon."

Cons: "If you are not a US citizen, you must apply for an Eta. Canada charges $7 for citizens to enter the country. Did not know we needed this and had to apply online right before boarding our flight."

Cons: "Took 45min to bag check (3 agents and only 3 families ahead of me) and when I did bag drop, I’d already checked in online, the agent tagged my luggage to Calgary not vancouver and put it under someone else’s name. It’s been over 34 hours and still no word from westjet. Calgary is an 1 1/2 hr flight to Vancouver. Not impressed."

Cons: "Changed my flights with less than 3h notice. I’d payed extra to reduce wait times as I was flying with a child just over 2. Originally had me coming in to Vancouver at 9 am and leaving at 5:40pm. Not cool with a young child. Allmost missed the 1st flight getting it fixed, they also didn’t book my child in adjacent seats, despite pre-booking the seats on the flight days before."

Cons: "I just cannot understand why WestJet cannot seat six people travelling together together. I mean really folks, it can’t be that hard... especially since five of those passengers have the same surname! Finally, is a cup of coffee and cookie and a glass of water really sufficient for a 5hr 9min flight, which adds to well over six hours with boarding and alighting time included."

Pros: "The flight itself was about as average as any other flight. At least all our luggage made it from the incoming flight from Key West to join us in Charlotte. That was our final destination but most of the passengers were making additional connections."
Cons: "The boarding went like the plane was ready to leave on time, except it didn't. There was a delay because the flight crew came from another arriving flight, so they had to go through the full pre-flight checklist. Then there was a "minor maintenance issue" that couldn't be fixed right away because it was "shift change" for the maintenance crews. Eventually they arrived and fixed whatever, while everyone was getting texts and alerts that kept delaying the departure by 15-minute intervals. Over an hour (while sitting in a warm plane) after the original scheduled departure, we left the gate, sat on the taxiway a while, then took off. Cabin crew only had cookies and drinks, no other snacks or food. All anyone got was an apology for the extended delay."

Pros: "Considering the price we paid for our tickets is the the only drawback I keep coming back to when I think about the VALUE of what I paid for.the entire flight. The overall experience was good throughout; from the airport on both ends of the journey to the actual inflight experience. I'm not sure how much of an influence the airline has on the airport part of it all, but the check-in process was good. The self check-in machines for AA were a little "buggy" and difficult to navigate but helpful staff was readily available as were the short lines. I am 6'2" and was impressed that I had adequate leg room in my seat."

Our party of three, which was husband and wife plus friend, were all seated separately. We could have opted for "pay extra" seating, but even that did not get us together, so we opted out."

I asked a good 10 min. prior to departure from the gate and was told I couldn't do it then. The FA let me move after takeoff and the obligatory "You're in exit row seating ..." briefing."
