Terribly inconvenient to not have WiFi for the entire 8hr flight. Sitting in business class, we were surprised the bread was served cold, not room temp, cold. They used to be served so that they seemed freshly baked. Same can be said for the squashes croissant at breakfast. Both were squashed flat. There was no champagne on the flight. And, bring back beverage service prior to take off!!!! Our departure was delayed for over 30 minutes so no beverages really stood out as something missing. Crew, seats, entertainment choices, all excellent!
In-flight temperature is just nice. It is difficult for passangers who are shorter to place their luggage into the overhead compartment. Sometimes, it is hard to find a space in the overhead compartment too. The flight attendants could be more helpful in finding a space and placing the luggage into the overhead compartment.
Pros: "The crew inside the plane was friendly pretty much the only thing good about the travelling"
Cons: "The seats were not confortable and old and no entertainment at all ! The food was horrible and the customer service from air Canada at Montreal airport was rude and unprofessional 3 hours delay without even an apology or an explanation! I went to see a person from a air canada at a desk at the boarding gates and he wouldn't even have the courtesy to give me 1 minute of his time to explain why the plane is late his awnser was wait for the announcement and you will see his attitude was very apathetic. Overall I was very disappointed"
Cons: "No AC for the first 30 minutes after boarding so it was wacky hot and stuffy."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "The fact I had to rent a car and drove home for 6 hours"
Pros: "Not much ch, safe arrival in BCN, the captains communication."
Cons: "The crew felt like they were wanting to yell at people and they took power pride actions to do so. If I did not know better, I thought there was a moment when the meal service was actually being tossed...but that would require effort and exertion. Asking for ice is a no no, please do not do so."
Pros: "How can anything be good if you are so cramped in the seat for 3 hours!!! Terrible. I almost fell trying to get out of my seat-trying to get to the bathroom! No movies unless you pay 10.00 for an I Pad!! Nothing about it was good! Pay for seats! Pay for bags! Pay for food!! Wow what a scam! No body was happy. I wont fly AC if its Rouge."
Cons: "How can anything be good if you are so cramped in the seat for 3 hours!!! Terrible. I almost fell trying to get out of my seat-trying to get to the bathroom! Pros: "Boarding was OK."
Cons: "Very uncomfortable generally. No water on the plane. Cold coffee and tea. Just a bad experience."
Pros: "we caught the earlier flight to Vancouver, which was great!"
Pros: "Reasonable food"
Cons: "One suitcase did not arrive. Not sure when will arrive"
Pros: "The friendly staff! Very accommodating and as simple as a smile goes a long way. Kiddos to Air Canada staff!"
Pros: "The crew were really great and very pleasant and helpful"
Cons: "The plane on departure was extremely cold for almost the entire flight. The in-flight entertainment system didn't work on any of my electronic devices (3 cell phones and a tablet we're all attempted but none worked)"
Pros: "Great timing of flights to arrive in afternoon. Also liked flying on the 787. Service was great as there was always someone checking to see that you were comfortable."
Pros: "Boarding was efficient"
Cons: "Flight was cold, movie and tv choices were poor."
Cons: "Late flight No info given to passengers"
Pros: "The crew was friendly and the plane was new."
Cons: "There were no media screens or TVs. This was an Air Canada 'Rouge' flight, which is apparently a more budget version of Air Canada, but I don't think that was apparent when we bought the tickets."
Pros: "The price."
Cons: "When someone has a terrible experience with a single individual it's just an anomaly. When it came to our experience it's easy to see that it's systemic and come from the top down in that company. The lack of customer service training is apparent. It was rampant and the overall feeling was just plain rudeness exuding from every team member. I'll never fly Air Canada again."
Cons: "Flight was cancelled after we already were sitting in the plane for 1.5 hour."
Cons: "No in flight entertainment"
Pros: "More comfortable but because we payed $200 to fly emergency exit"
Cons: "That we had to pay $200 for emergency exit"
Pros: "The crew, that it all"
Cons: "The plane was clearly an older plane, there was NO on board entertainment for a 12 hr flight. The food was not good and there was no free wine - which is not normal for international"
Pros: "Good service"
Cons: "Nothing much for breakfast"
Cons: "Seats are awful no leg room. Old plane and food sucked. Horrible rude service. Will never use again."
Cons: "The plane was so uncomfortable. I could not fall asleep and there were lots of people laying down covering their entire body across the 3 seat middle section. I asked for complimentary wine and was refused my request. I do not like air canada rouge. Awful airline!"
Pros: "Everything on the international flight was great."
Cons: "Toronto to SLC was horrible. You have to pay extra for everything, even blankets."
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "No leg room, was actually painfull"
Cons: "They over sold the flight. Customer service was awful and the gate attendant was untrained. We were unable to board the plane."
Cons: "No monitor available to follow route .Too long trip w/o any entertainment."
Pros: "The seats were comfortable enough. This was also the cheapest of the overseas flights."
Cons: "You pay for wine! This is the only international flight I've ever had where I had to pay for my wine. They served dinner really late so I stayed up until almost 11 EST to eat and to drink wine before going to sleep. They were understaffed so they always seemed overwhelmed and stressed. No movies or screens."
Pros: "Nice airplane and very friendly staff once finally on board."
Cons: "Please read previous comments (copied and pasted below) I should never have been sold the flight. The connecting time was too short - even under normal circumstances without delay I was told that I had a solid chance of missing the flight. Furthermore, once I finally made it into Montreal for my connecting flight, no one did anything to expedite my experience. They tried to get me to my final destination 24 hours after I was supposed to be there - they had a packet of accommodations for hotel and flight already prepped (mind you, I had only missing my flight by 10 minutes so clearly my seat was sold to someone else), and they didn't want to accommodate me in any other way. Explaining that I was meeting a friend who had taken another flight, I was told that the problem was not his and there was nothing I could do. Even though I found flights on Kayak and on Air Canada site for an alternate flight getting me out to Europe a few hours later, I was told "no can do." I asked him to speak to a manager and suddenly he was on the phone and (successfully) accomodating me. BUT. The flight was a connecting flight (connection in Rome to final destination Barcelona) - and he hadn't booked me the Rome to Barcelona portion. i was told - "go see the stand in Rome and they will have your ticket ready to go." They didn't have anything on their record but did tell me that this flight should not have been booked for me without having a ticket for my final destination. This was a hellish experience and I will be writing reviews and contacting Air Canada further to discuss this whole process."
Pros: "Take off and landing"
Cons: "Non reclining seats for such a long flight. Very little leg room and indifference of flight crew."
Cons: "Crazy boarding process. Had flight attendants jacket left hanging on my seat that they didn't come get until we began to taxi. No entertainment systems for a 7 hour transatlantic flight."
Pros: "I was grateful to make it onto flight but no thanks to crew from first flight who should have radioed ahead that we were on our way and late due to air canada flight I was also glad that bags got onto flight"
Cons: "The food was awful! Dinner was barely ok and don't over advertise your "light breakfast." A cold piece of banna bread slapped down on my tray barely can be called a snack! The seats on the seemingly very old 767 were painfully uncomfortable. The 320 had better seating. And what entertainment?????"
Cons: "The movies selection is not good"
Cons: "On the Montreal-Athens leg the meal was free but of poor quality and quantity. Breakfast was just a piece of banana bread... No entertainment system in the aircraft. Had to rent iPad with very poor quality earphones (struggled to listen to the movies) Also some of the movies were not adjusted for the iPad which translated into using only a portion of the iPad screen."
Pros: "The price could not be beat and the leg room was decent."
Cons: "Food was pretty sad and we could not hook up out iPad to the entertainment options because we didn't download an app beforehand."
Cons: "Three hour delay with no real explanation is unacceptable"
Pros: "Everyone was very courteous to us. Very little turbulence on trip. Flying is very easy today more than Even 5 years ago. I will fly again on Air Canada"
Cons: "Small basic meals"
Pros: "staff polite"
Cons: "Flight attendant speech over intercom unintelligible. She held the mic too close and spoke much too fast."
Pros: "We would have needed to download an app on our personal digital device and view entertainment that way. No screens in the plane."
Pros: "Plane are amazing! Enough room for each person and service was amazing, both at the checkin gate and on the plane."
Cons: "Poorest over seas flight ever been on. No tv's not even pretzels. Leg room is the worst I have ever had. Last time I flew over seas it was fabulous. Hours on a flight packed like sardines and no entertainment to speak of. No movie, no tv and no leg room. My husbands knees touched the back of seat in front. Breakfast was a slice of banana bread. Will never fly Air Canada again"
Cons: "I arrived at the airport and attempted to check in at 11:17, 58 minutes before my flight was schedule to depart, having just rushed to the airport from my father's bedside in the hospital. I purchased a ticket on this flight because I absolutely needed to be back in New York City by 2:30 pm today - otherwise, I wouldn't have left. When I attempted to use the kiosk to check in, my booking reference number couldn't be found, despite repeated attempts. When I approached a customer service agent to check in manually, I was simply told that I could not - I was not offered any reason other than that I was "too late" and not offered any alternative. I asked to speak with a supervisor who attempted to clear me for check in seeing as I had no bags to check and have a Global Entry card, but was told by the agent that I spoke with that the flight was over booked and so there were now no longer any seats available. I asked to speak with the supervisor in person, and was told she was on her way, but 15 minutes later she was nowhere to be seen and time was ticking. While the first agent was completely unhelpful, and never offered to rebook me on another flight, another agent helped me by giving me a boarding pass for the next flight and told me she was putting me on standby for the flight I originally purchased the ticket for. I got to the gate in plenty of time to board my original flight, but was told that I wasn't on the standby list and there were simply no seats left on the flight - even though I purchased one which should have been held for me until 10 minutes before departure as is the policy for every other airline as far as I am aware. I am beyond frustrated that due to Air Canada's overbooking the airline used the excuse that I arrived 58 minutes before my flight to give the ticket I purchased away to someone else, with no consideration for me as a customer. The extremely poor customer service I received only added insult to injury. I am completely stumped as to how Air Canada could possibly be the only airline in North America with a 4 star rating when I have consistently experienced overbooking, flight cancellations, and abysmal customer service, including 30 minute wait times to speak to an agent, an inability to check in online for international travel, topped off by poor in flight service, when traveling Air Canada. I have never before complained but am doing so in this case because today's experience truly put me over the top when the airline's blatant disregard for my circumstances and needs as a customer and overbooking practices went beyond causing annoyance and inconvenience. I am therefore requesting a full refund of the ticket I purchased only to be bumped off the flight I paid for."
Pros: "Absolutely nothing!!!!"
Cons: "You need to tell people what to expect on Air Canada Rogue - NEVER AGAIN!!"
Pros: "There is not one thing that was good about this flight. Bad plane, bad service, bad food. That sums it up. Will talk to as many travelers as I can to tell them to avoid this nightmare."
Cons: "No entertainment on board. No complimentary drinks. A piece of cold banana bread literally thrown on the tray for breakfast. Called the airline when reservation was made and told it would have entertainment and complimentary drinks. The switch to Rouge was a bait and switch. Rouge is from the 1970s. Long flights to sit and stare at the back of seat. Crowded seat at that. NEVER WILL FLY AIR CANADA AGAIN"
Cons: "I would like a flight map to follow the flight and have more information"
Pros: "The agent was able to seat is together from the pronating point through to our destination."
Cons: "Everything was explained"
