Cons: "Started off by being 40 mins delayed. Not bad, compared to the 4 hour delay I had going to Vancouver. Flight was super uncomfortable. Upon arrival to Toronto. The gate had ice on it. So we had to wait in the plane for over an hour before we could get to a gate and off the plane. And then the entire plane of people (300-400 people I believe?) had to wait for our bags to come out for TWO HOURS! Meanwhile flights from Vancouver that we’re supposed to leave after us , left before us, got there before us, and got their bags before us. Horrible trip. I could not believe how unprofessional and unprepared Air Canada and the Toronto airport was during the holidays!"

Return flight was first late then was told that the Restroom inside the plane is not working which is weird (atleast i never experienced this before)."
Pros: "The plane was spacious with comfortable seats. Entertainment selections were a highlight. I liked that they offered your buds. Not nearly as bad as United despite some customer service issues."
Cons: "Our tables were dirty so we could not set our drinks and food on them. When we were boarding, one of the crew members was yelling at an older Asian lady. She was in the wrong seat but she obviously did not speak English. She was also of the age where she could have had dementia. He said that she was responsible for holding up the plane and the boarding process. On the return flight, I encountered a very rude boarding agent. Her actions warranted an apology, but I did not receive one. She just would not look at me."

Cons: "Brussels airport staff would not let me to check in, saying that I need a Canadian visa (I had a transfer in Montreal), even though I am Green Card holder and I don't need a visa for a transfer flight. It took me almost 45 minutes to convince them that I don't need a visa a finally was allowed to check in"
Pros: "Missed scheduled flight from Toronto to Calgary. The staff at the desk in Toronto were most helpful and kind. A new boarding pass was printed for the next flight and she assured me that my checked luggage would accompany me from Toronto to Calgary. They also printed a boarding pass for my next flight to Lethbridge. On arrival in Calgary flight personnel ask all patrons to remain seated to allow those of us who had a connecting flight to depart first. I certainly appreciated this kind suggestion and it allowed me more time to reach my next departure gate."
Cons: "Prior to arriving at the desk I was anxious about missing the flight to Calgary and it was a very long trek in the airport and I had to clear customs and security."

Cons: "About 80% of my flight consisted of noisy Spanish high-school erst returning from some trip in Canada. They were loud and obnoxious and ruin the peace on the plane. This was an overnight flight and they ruined any chances of falling asleep. The problem came from the fact that the flight attendants could keep them under control. They, in turn, got annoyed and gave generally subpar and unpleasant service."
Pros: "The customer service folks at Air Canada. They worked very hard to get us on the second flight. Running through the airport with us, pleading with TSA to move along, trying to talk sense to some guy who eventually allowed people to get off a flight, but wouldn't let us on. I guess its easy to make those decisions when he makes the call from some office via a phone and doesn't have to face customers. All other Air Canada employees we worked with were exceptional!!! Kudos to them."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed 3 hrs from London. Once in Montreal the systems that Air Canada uses to correct the situation are horrible. There was no way we would be able to catch our rescheduled flight in the time it takes to deboard, go through customs, get bags, recheck bags, go through security. We didn't. We missed the next flight too despite the heroic efforts by the staff (excpetion - TSA security. They moved very very slow to the point that they seemed passive aggressive to our situation). This is the second time it has happened. I probably won't fly Air Canada again, if possible."
Cons: "The flight was 2 hours late. It had apparently arrived late, and then they had mechanical problems. Air Canada gave me some inaccurate information which delayed me in Montreal and made me miss my connection to Toronto. Also, even though I specified to the flight attendant that I was connecting to Toronto before going to the US , they only gave me the US custom form even though you apparently need to fill the Canadian one even if you are just transiting through the country."
Pros: "The attendant at check in was very personable and friendly. The food was decent as airline food goes. The entertainment I enjoyed as there were some old classics I enjoyed watching again and there was music I enjoyed. The crew was pleasant and tried to make us comfortable."
Cons: "I didn't like being put on standby when we purchased our tickets months in advance. Then being led to believe that we might be upgraded to business class only to be given the very last seats in the plane. That was not right or fair. We were also not the last to check-in."

Delay of 10 minutes to disembark once at terminal because of unexplained problem. Once at security gate D line of approx.. 30-40 people at dead standstill for 25 minutes (security issue?) . Missed connecting flight to Moncton because of above. Overnight stay in Toronto with hotel and meals approx. 35..00-400.00 extra cost. AC unwilling to pay for hotel. Lost following day's employment. Very disappointed in AC service in Toronto."
Cons: "Food offerings were really mediocre and poor quality. For the staff and crew, I did not get the feeling that they had a service oriented mentality in their communications and attitude. It felt more like I was being processed- just one of any number of faceless people that needed to be dealt with as quickly as possible."

Cons: "Boarding was unorganized, nobody knew what was going on, but the biggest disappointment is there were no movies there are no video screens on the entire plane so unless you bring your own device and have pre-downloaded Air Canada app there are no entertainment options at all! Who ever heard of a transatlantic flight that didn't have a movie? Make sure you download the app so you can at least watch the movies on your tiny screen."

Pros: "One thing I liked was that the plane wasn't full, which of course makes everyone more comfortable as there is more available space. I had an exit row seat with extra leg room. I had all 3 seats which meant a very comfortable and relaxed trip. The flight attendants were all male strangely, and they were more friendly than the normal female staff. The older attendant that served our area was very nice."
Cons: "The bathroom had no water, and a bag of wipes to use after using the bathroom. Little gross, only air came out of the faucet. Not sure if maybe they don't take on water when in the US. Flight also left late as it arrived late."

That was the first and last time I will use Virgin America. Not only was United available, but it was $150 less than Virgin America (which I booked 3 months prior)."

On the connecting flight, the last flight the plane was two thirds empty and the crew made us sit in our assigned seats, crammed together telling us that if we want to sit in a seat with more legroom we have to pay $180"

Still smiling until the snack pretzels were passed out. When I didn't hear the attendant's question, in spite of telling her I was hearing impaired, she threw her hand up rudely and just continued on to other customers. When boarding I watched orhers board with the same size bag as mine, and wondered if telling someone you can't hear gives them the right to inform you at the gate that your bag needs to be checked?"

I understand things happen, however, I've flown in Delta and when they had delays they brought complimentary snacks and drinks for us at the gate. United did nothing but give excuses, changing reasons for the delay. The flight was 2 hours late, which would push us from breakfast to lunch yet they provided no extra food! They gave us direct tv instead."

Fortunately for them, we were all a patient good natured group of passengers, but now that I think it over, we WERE mishandled and we should have been more upset"
