Cons: "Grumpy gate attendants at YUL! Could not hear the captain’s comments over the PA system. Shouldn’t the volume be checked every so often? We were offered only water or coffee, bad enough, then there was no milk or cream on board, so water or black coffee... not very impressive! And there was no entertainment so I’d rate that zero but the scale only goes as low as one star."

The flight crew i found to be very rude with and had an attitude. The biggest shock was the greetings and all announcements were in English accept the safety rules where the pre-recorded tape was played. If asked about the return flight from Halifax to Montreal, one word to describe it "disaster". I was totally turned off with WestJet. I will for sure continue using Porter as I was always pleased with there service. As they say "you get what you pay for"."

I did like the Westjet Connect feature. You don't have a TV screen in the back of each seat. You download the app and you get to watch TV, Movies, News all on your own device for free. A nice plus is that you can change all your devices with USB power port at each seats you never run out of a charge."

They supposedly have an app to send you alerts about your flight - doesn't work - re-installed twice, and got the same can't connect message on different days (my phone was on a gig network wifi)."

This caused a lot of worry and stress not knowing when we would land or where our connecting gate would be. Fortunately the gates were next to one another and it all worked out. There were supposed to be usb charging connectors under the seat but I felt around for nearly 30 minutes and couldn't find them. Nobody could."

They should have rebooked us on another flight from our original destination vs rebooking us upon arrival in Montreal to miss further connecting flights. Very disappointed!!!!! Based on this experience alone, never again will I or my family travel Air Canada."

Air Canada blamed the weather for our late arrival, my missed connection and claimed no responsabilility for the fact that my trip ended up taking more than 24 hours when it was supposed to take about 9 hours. Also, there was the matter of the lost luggage which was a carry on that I accepted to have checked as the Air Canada staff seemed desperate to check our carry ons on a full flight to Toronto from Montreal. I ended up spending the night in the Vancouver airport without access to my luggage."

They booked me a flight from Toronto to Calgary but it was for the next day at 410pm on august 1st!!! I had to sleep on the airport floor and spend my whole day there instead of being home with my family I honestly would love a refund..."

They also charge $33+ US to check one bag. If you go over the 50 lb weight limit they charge $100. By the time you add it all up, I could have flown on Delta through the US for less. Trying to get my seat selection fees reimbursed was very difficult; At the airport, they told me to go online and ask for a refund; Online, I couldn't find the way to get to the refund link; Called Customer service again, who gave me an 800# to call for a refund; the person on the 800 # told me I had to request it online but walked me through it to find the refund link; I filled in the online request and was told by automatic reply that Air Canada would investigate it and get back to me within 3-4 weeks. Ugh! No more Air Canada for me!"

This is completely avoidable, and the attendent who checked me in even said so. While the hotel and shuttle were paid for, Air Canada only gave me a $7 breakfast voucher, which was only redeemable at the hotel's measly breakfast counter rather than anywhere in the airport. For the unnecessary delays I had to deal with, i should had received more credit. This was an utterly disappointing travel experience."
