Cons: "Earlier in the day when I was checking in, there was a prompt to be added to the list of volunteers to take a different flight should one of my later flights (it did not specify, I flew from DAY to ATL, and then ATL to ORF) was overbooked. My schedule was accommodating enough that I selected yes. In ATL I was called up as a potential volunteer as they needed 3 volunteers to take a later flight that day. I was told that I was not initially assigned a seat since I had earlier agreed to be a potential volunteer. I was okay with all of this. We were told that the decision would be made at the end of boarding, and we would know if our seats were needed. At the end of boarding they called for the 3 volunteers to board. I was the last one to board and was given my seat assignment. Once I got on the plane I saw that someone had already been assigned my seat and let a flight attendant know what had happened. I stood on the plane for about 10 minutes while the flight attendants and other crew members tried to figure out what had happened. My name was not listed under any cabin (main, comfort, etc) even though I had a ticket and a seat assignment. Eventually they had to open the doors again for me to get off the plan as there were no available seats. Once I got back to the gate podium I was booked on a later flight, as would have been the case had the normal course of action for volunteering to give up my seat taken place. Everyone was extremely helpful in trying to figure out what had happened, but it was still frustrating that it had to happen in that way. Luckily I don't believe the delay caused any major delay for the flight. In the end, things worked out fine, it just seems as though this is an issue that didn't need to happen."

Connection to Toronto was terrible. Needed an escort to the connecting flight. Baggage-never made it to connecting flight. We barely made the connection to Toronto. Never going WestJet again:(

Cons: "Hello, I just needed to voice my dissatisfaction with this fight. I’m not sure if every Westjet flight I was lucky and had amazing crew members or if the staff on this flight was having a bad flight. Our flight was delayed by 75min. The flight crew did not attend to any requests from the customers for the 75min we were on the tarmac. I asked for headphones and the crew member look agitated I asked made a remark about how nobody buys them so she didn’t know how much they are. She said she would come back with the price, and did not. I had to wait for the beverage cart and then order them again. Then I asked for an additional can of ginger ale. The gentleman said he’ll need to come back (as he was cleaning the garbage). He never came back. I had to hit the assistance button again and got the original woman. Once again agitated and when I asked she said to wait for the beverage cart again. After another 10-15min they started the beverage service again. On previous flights there were delays, shorter like 30min westjet crew members gave free headphones. And those are the kind of experiences I’ve come to expect from westjet. Not the free aspect but flight crew that care about the customers. The entire crew on this flight was agitated and annoyed from boarding and it definitely showed. Small things like even a smile or even sorry everyone, would’ve gone a long way. But when the crew doesn’t care the flight gets 10x longer, and when the flight is already delayed by 25% of the flight duration it comes to a point where you’re counting down the seconds to get out. The delay was unfortunate and out of the control of the company and crew but that doesn’t mean the crew couldn’t still make it into a memorable experience for the guests."

Pros: "WS Care Center staff Minmico (think it was her name) arranged the 4:15 flight instead of the 6 pm flight but only because I requested her to check that flight when I returned to the CC to find out if it was possible to get on an earlier flight. I should have been advised when I first arrived at the CC from my delayed flight from Toronto that I could check back at the CC to see if there was a cancellation. Minmico allowed me to use her phone a couple of times to call my husband to advise him of the changes in my flight, which was very helpful. She tried hard just prior to the flight departure to have my bag delivered to the 4:15 flight but was unsuccessful. She gave me food vouchers, which I liked. I also thought the WS CC staff in Abbotsford was very helpful explaining the process for making a baggage claim when my bag didn't arrive due to my last minute flight change - the $100 voucher was appreciated when I picked up my bag the next day."
Cons: "Had to sit in the plane for almost 2 hours because the computer was being fixed on the plane. Crew did not communicate in a timely manner about when we would be flying.The plane should not have been in operation if the computer didn't work and passengers should not have had to wait on the plane for two hours while it was fixed. I missed my WS connecting flight to Abbotsford from Calgary and was only rescheduled on a plane departing 6 hours later! No one at WesJet Care suggested there may be a cancellation on an earlier flight - I had to arrange it by returning to the WS Care Center. I just barely made it onto an earlier 4:15 pm flight but without my bag which was put onto the later 6 pm flight. I chose to return the next day to pick up my bag."

Cons: "Due to the fact that my trip to was not clearly indicated as non stop it is the first time in thirty years of regular travel that I did not have a direct flight to Calgary. Then I was not able to change my flight at the airport even though there was room available on a direct Westjet flight leaving as close to the same time. But the worst part as after landing we waited for a very long time for the plane to pull up to a gate (unnecessarily burning fuel and poluting the environment). And finally we waited another very long time for the doors of the plane to be opened for disembarkation. More than 3/4 of an hour waiting on the ground after a one hour flight very late in the evening. As a result I hat to take a cab home from the airport. Now I will try my best to not fly Westjet."

Pros: "West Jet just runs a relaxed yet professional airline. They are just more laid back and accommodating. You can use any bathroom on the plane as well which is huge on those rare times you need to use it. They are funny and chatty and seem to enjoy working together which all translates to a less rushed and relaxed experience for us the passenger. I really can’t complain....I had an entire row to myself....the best you can hope for, when riding on a plain for hours that’s like winning the lottery!"

Whether due to the time of flight or that they were leaving Orlando, I don't know, but I was expecting a little more cheer or at least positivity from them. Also the flight was "running low" on drinks and so I they only came through the cabin once to offer soft drinks, which I needed as I had still to catch a red eye and function during my layover. I wasn't pleased with them. Lastly the West Jet connect app worked just fine for my ipad but despite advertising my wife was unable to get it to work on her computer (mac) despite multiple attempts. If TVs are no longer going to be standard on planes someone needs to be present to help with I.T. when the system isn't working as advertised."

First time missed my connecting to Hong Kong and Bangkok. I know nothing perfect, but this seems to be the norm. Next time will try to find someone else to fly with."

Cons: "This was my first time booking a PLUS seat and never realized that row 2A seat sucks. Its a bulkead row seat that is by the window. This seat was worse to sit in than any other seat on the plane. This seat is located were the plane starts to curve in toward the front of the plane reducing the seat width, I have a 33" waist and it was tight. The arm wrests in this row don't come up as they stow your table, as well the leg room is only as good as a regular seat because of the bulkhead location. So FYI do not book this seat on a long flight."

They were so kind and genuinely helpful. I was very grateful. Also, your flight attendants seem to really enjoy their jobs. This is not the case on other airlines!"

One of the staff, while nice enough, was being a bit snarky to people as they were trying to, what I thought was helpfully, give them their garbage."

My luggage was lost in Calgary and so I went on to Penticton, to Osoyoos. The next day, West Jet delivered my suitcase to me. I appreciate the voucher I was given to buy a few things and the promptness of my luggage. We live in Canada, the weather in the winter can be quite an annoyance and so it was last week."

The crew should know or be able to verify the information in their database or somewhere at the departure not only when I arrive in Calgary! It adds a stress to the customer not knowing. - Flight of 4.30 hours and no free meals. - Impossible to use my hear phones in the plane so I couldn't hear the TV channels. I was also expecting movies and series like in Delta."

The lady at the check in desk never asked me if I was first class or main cabin. Just assumed I was main cabin. So they almost made me check my carry on until I showed my boarding pass. Other than that, everything was great. Smooth flight flight attendants were very nice

Pros: "Horrible hospitality. The flight was initially delayed for computer issues which understandably happens. However, we were later switch to another plane 4 hr later, boarded, de iced, taxied, then notified he flight was cancelled at 1 am because the crew hit their maximum work time. We were de-boarded. There was no organization to get vouchers passed out. The hotel ran out of rooms for passengers. The whole trip was 16 hrs delayed and no customer service provided."

Cons: "Check in staff was unprepared for volume of people. When asking an American Airlines agent if I could use the priority check in because I had priority seating I was told no. I was informed by a customer going that way that I indeed could. When I got in line for the priority check in, the agent looked over and very loudly said that I was in the wrong check in area. Given the volume at which it was said to me I felt embarrassed, and was upset at the fact that I then had to respond that I indeed was in the correct location."
Pros: "My flight wasn't completely full, so I had a row to myself. The pilot was excellent; takeoff and landing were very smooth."

(Oh yeah - we were late taking off to start my vacation from Philly because a crew failed to arrive to "start the engines of the aircraft," per captain's announcement. The entire aircraft boarded and sat, again, for 30 minutes without any air conditioning or air flow in the cabin.) Blah experience. Blah employees. And two different captains announced the reasons for delay with an "annoyed tone.""

Our plane left 45 minutes late from Phoenix because of a gas spill so when we got to Vancouver from Phoenix, we had to go through customs which took extra time. When we first landed in Vancouver and before we even got off the plane, we had 5 minutes to board onto our next flight which obviously was not going to happen. We rushed through customs and still might have been able to board our flight at the last possible minute except the staff at the airport led us to somehow get out of the secure area and have to go through security again before going to our gate. That took so much extra time. This never should have happened. When you get off the plane and have a connecting flight, there is always a way to get to the gate to board without having to go through security again. When we finally made it to our gate for our connecting flight, our plane had left and we were told to go to the air canada service desk. There was about 10 to 15 of us that had missed our connecting flight because of this so the 2 staff at the desk were trying to help us all but had to wait for their manager to come and confirm they could give us another flight which took quite a bit longer than I thought. We ended up getting booked on standby on a flight straight from Vancouver to Saskatoon in 2 hours which was our final destination, but never was told that because of all this headache, we should have grabbed our luggage. We thought our luggage was going to go on without us on the flight we missed but apparently if you do not get on your flight they don’t send your bags which makes sense. We also had thought for a second that maybe our luggage didn’t go on the flight from Vancouver to Calgary but if it didn’t then someone would most likely put it on the flight to Saskatoon. We should have asked about it but they should also have mentioned it when we were in a panic. And I understand you can’t put extra people on a flight that is booked, but what if the plane we were on standby for was full and we had to wait even longer .. could have taken us a day to get home when this wasn’t our fault we missed our flight, but was air Canada’s."

After a confusing conversation from the officer not understanding that I was not travelling to France ( assumption) I was asked to show evidence I had the right to enter UK !!!! I explained I lived there permanently ; I was then asked why French hate English so much!!! To which I explained only narrow minded people would believe so and that the style of her comment were not appropriate . I explained my children were half French half British and that her comment was offensive ."

Pros: "The whole experience from boarding to landing was great. Zone 2 boarding is one of the first called and the premium economy section has larger seats that recline more and don't affect the person behind as much. Food was decent and serve on a ceramic plate with real silver wear. On demand entertainment was adequate with a number of recent titles and even audiobook options."
Cons: "The section was set up in a 2-3-2 seat configuration and I booked the middle 3, but were given 2 in the middle and one one the left aisle. One of the middle seats was left open for the pilot to come back and watch movies during the flight. When I asked the attendant if we could swap the left aisle with the "pilot's" the attendant made it seem like it was a bigger deal but eventually asked the pilot who said he didn't mind. After all, it was just changing one empty seat to the other side of the aisle."

Pros: "I flew roundtrip to Japan on Air Canada business class. Buying a ticket late, I noticed it was only $500 or so more for business class. We did have to touchdown in Canada coming and going, but short and efficient hops. On the way back, it probably saved time because we were cleared in Canada so arriving back in Philly was like a domestic flight. Great Food and service. The trip to Japan on their new Dreamliner business class featured an amazingly designed pod - super comfortable, lay flat for sleeping, But has good layout and table space if I had wanted to work on laptop. Thumbs up!"

Pros: "Missed scheduled flight from Toronto to Calgary. The staff at the desk in Toronto were most helpful and kind. A new boarding pass was printed for the next flight and she assured me that my checked luggage would accompany me from Toronto to Calgary. They also printed a boarding pass for my next flight to Lethbridge. On arrival in Calgary flight personnel ask all patrons to remain seated to allow those of us who had a connecting flight to depart first. I certainly appreciated this kind suggestion and it allowed me more time to reach my next departure gate."
Cons: "Prior to arriving at the desk I was anxious about missing the flight to Calgary and it was a very long trek in the airport and I had to clear customs and security."

Cons: "The seats we were sitting in were uncomfortable. There seemed to be a ridge near the back of the seat cushion and it was very uncomfortable for the entire trip."
Cons: "There was a build-up of delays for domestic flights, namely from Toronto to Edmonton, Ottawa and Calgary (the ones I heard). I was on the Toronto to Calgary flight, which was supposedly delayed from 16:45 till 18:55 EST, but the actual boarding time was closer to 19:45 EST. Once all the passengers were boarded, the crew informed us that the pilot was missing. Another 20 minutes went by before he was located, at which point we were informed that the first mate was missing as well. By the time the pilot and first mate were both on the aircraft, it took another 30 minutes for them to get the aircraft ready. My flight from Toronto to Calgary was supposed to arrive at 19:40 MDT, the actual arrival time was 23:00 MDT. As a passenger, I am annoyed to say the least."

Cons: "I had a very large man behind me and couldn't recline my seat an ounce therefore I couldn't sleep the entire flight. I think if your a certian size you should have to buy a seat with more room instead of make everyone else uncomfortable. The food was almost inedible, and there wasn't much more than chips or chocolate bars to pick up in That section of the Airport before flying out :( Entertainment choices were excellent though!"

Cons: "The boarding crew did a poor job of giving direction. In spite of the fact that boarding by zone was not specified, I was reprimanded by staff for boarding when I did. I found it very disrespectful that the staff reprimanded me for their own error. When I pointed out that they had not called a zone the ground staff lied and said they had called the zone. I strongly recommend staff receive remedial customer service training. This was an incredibly negative experience - not to mention undermined the otherwise decent experience that the Air Canada flight team provided."

Cons: "Calgary Airport was DREADFUL!!!! The long lineups for Customs & Immigration actually caused me to miss my next flight, even though the Frankfurt flight was early and I had over 90 minutes between flights. Several passengers were expressing concerns about missing their connection, but the staff just shrugged and made everybody wait in line without even trying to organize matters. I spent well over an hour waiting for my passport to be stamped and when I finally got through and tried to locate my suitcase (which was MIA), my next flight was closed. At least my suitcase will be delivered to our home, which is a slight relief."

Difference is the inconvenience of having to keep my hand luggage at my feet because of the larger pieces filled by passengers in group 1, 2, and 3 over my designated seat area."

When a company called can make billions of dollars doing this, it's just taking advantage of the little people."

This eventually meant we would miss our connection to Munich and had to be rescheduled to the following day. They put my daughters safety at risk with such lack of compassion. Caused such unbelievable stress and chaos. I will continue to tell everyone I know how horrible this was. No one will want to fly United after they hear what my daughter and I were put thru."
Cons: "I wouldn't know since I wasn't on it and I'm still in the airport waiting for my flight. I have to try to get comfortable on the floor right now."
Pros: "Absoluteky nothing. I mean literally NOTHING. I take that back, a pilot for another flight who saw my predicament and tried his best to help me figure which flight to take in the morning. Also, as far as floors go, the airport terminal was maybe only the ninth worst I've slept on. Kudos!"
Cons: "Wretched customer service. Flight delayed multiple hours after my ride departed and stranded at airport for fourteen hours with no food or beverage comps, or even kindness from the their agents. Was told "oh well, weather". I had left my remaining cash (and didn't bring my card) with my lady friend to get the kids some nice things (she is driving back on a seperate day and was already two hours away by the time we found out flight wasn't happening in time) and absolutely zero compassion given by United. Also, required to add an 80 dollar uber when I get home because there will be no ride as my orginal ride can't make it. May also have to call out of work. Not even an offer to bump my seat on next flight to close to the cabin or exit row. Two hours on phone with customer service with no offers of even slight compensation even when this entire situation is explained. I get it. I agreed to terms of service, but your service sucked and is costing me an armful of money at this point, wouldn't it be in the slightest interest of theirs to give me a meal, or a room or even a lousy coffee?"
Pros: "Nice new plane"
Cons: "2 hour delay due to a name discrepancy on a passenger. Not fair to keep everyone waiting for one person"
Cons: "After getting pushed back 3 times it finally got canceled and left me and 4 other strangers to drive back home so I wouldn't miss work. Another not being late to work in the military is not good to go."
Cons: "Left about 15 minutes late."
Pros: "Crew was wonderful and snacks were average"
Cons: "The seat back was very uncomfortable but this was a short flight with a small plane. Not terrible but below average."
