Day after our flight my wife and I tested positive for COVID. Cannot rule out nor ignore the fact that Alaska Airlines clearly does not hold safety as a priority since the entire flight crew was unmasked. Will never be flying Alaska airlines again.

After an hour, we found ours and made our way towards what used to be rental car check in. Found there was now a shuttle bus system to get to rental counters, but waited in line outside with our three bags for 30+ minutes just to get on the shuttle. After a 15-minute ride, we finally arrived at the old rental check in/garage area. Bottom line, it took over two hours from arrival to finally being able to leave the airport."

Screaming babies and a FULL plane. We finally changed planes to the other end of the Terminal. I got no sleep and missed a very special Labor Day Holiday with my daughter because I am sleeping now. I dont understand how your own ground crew can damage your plane and it take so long for you to decide to change planes AFTER BOARDING A FULL PLANE!?!?"

The crew was great. We were in first class in 2D and 2F. The man in front of us coughed continually with a very deep cough. We were very concerned that he may have been infected and we plan to be tested for Covid-19. As a Condition of flying we support airlines requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test within the past 72 hours. Otherwise airlines may find a segment of the population refusing to fly.

Sometimes you can watch on the iPad in a browser, other times you need a flash player or the AA app. Have a common way of at least accessing the internet, otherwise it can take 10 minutes to log in if switching from a GoGo yo Panasonic service. It is just too difficult and buggy. I am glad I don’t actually pay for the internet."

Then, after he finally arrived with a tray full of coffees, there was an issue with the jet's computer and had to reset it and we had to wait even more. When we finally arrived, our Gate was taken by other plane already and we had to wait (more) for the first one to be available for us. Then, when we finally got our Gate, there was another issue, now with the "finger". They weren't able to move it and connect it to the plane to get off of it. So we had to wait AGAIN. And finally as soon as we got off the plane, they were supposed to give us our carry ons on the aisle (Because it was a small plane CR700) , but again, we had to wait almost 10 minutes so that they could send the luggage... To make things worse, I had a first class ticket and I couldn't get the perks of it at the airport. Because they said I wasn't flying in an international flight. Come on?! Canada->USA->Mexico is not International??? You lost me AA."

Then, when we finally got on the plane and were about to take off, the air traffic control tower called and said that their flight path was incorrect and to not take off...but didn't give them a new flight path for nearly two hours as we sat on the runway. SN had not released ticket to Air Canada so they could not check me in. Had to call SN customer service after AC could not check me in, then wait and wait as they had to try to correct the mistake 3x before AC counter could issue boarding passes. Terrible experience going through this with 2 small kids waiting. It’s as if the two airlines’ systems don’t communicate but passenger is responsible for resolving."

I reserved the tickets to Shanghai but there were no place reminding me that I need Canadian VISA to connect flights between two Canadian cities. I am a Chinese citizen who is working at USA and not allowed to change flights in Canada based on the newest government rules. However, in both booking systems, there is no reminders. In my opinion, either Kayak or Air Canada can add a simple checkbox to let the potential guest choose his or her nationality status, then this kind of trouble can be mitigated. We talked and called Air Canada people but no buying. They kept saying this is our responsibility. We bought United Airline tickets at the last minutes and cost us about $2,400 because we cannot wait to get back China to prepare our wedding ceremony and US Visa interview. We are very very disappointed with Air Canada and will keep complaining about this issue. As a service supplier, how cannot you think on behalf of a customer? The air company definitely knows more about government rules than a customer. We did have mistakes of not researching government rules. However, the biggest mistake was we trusted Air Canada and Kayak who we thought had taken care of those kind of issues for us. Thanks."

When I got to the flight, I found it could have been gate checked but there was no need as the flight was NOT FULL and my bag fit with no problem at all in the overhead bins. Cons: "Our flight was delayed three hours. My flight and one other were the last to leave that night. There were no TVs on this flight. The only way to watch movies was on a smart phone or electronic device through their app. My poor old fashioned dad, didn't bring his phone so he would have just sat there for seven and a half hours if I didn't let him borrow mine. AirCanada's alternative is to rent an iPad from them, just another way for airline companies to get money out of us. The movie choices on their app were bad and older. International flights usually have new movies to so it is less likely passengers have seen them already."
Cons: "Extreme delays on my return flight which made me miss my connection and get rebooked on another flight for the next day. We were delayed on departure, then on the tarmac, then in the air, and finally when getting off the plane. I am glad that I was rebooked and was given a hotel to stay at, but I did not like the way I was treated by Air Canada staff at customs. I passed through customs only to be sent back into Canada after having crossed through security because the staff decided to close. We were told by other staff members that it was up to them to decide when they were done and to talk them. I ran through the whole airport with about 7 other people to make it. Why make us cross through security only to send us back? There was no one there to guide us on what to do. I had to go through the whole thing again the following day only to have my face cream taken away (it is technically cream, not a liquid) and then be detained. None of this happened AT ALL the day before. I'd give more details but it was a complete mess."

Terrible food: a slice of oily cske, served in a plastic sleeve, must be the new low for an international breakfast...no individual tvs on the sets....hello, step into the 21st century.... And the selection available via your iPad or laptop and their wifi was small, and old...we had paid to upgrade our economy tickets to the next level, and we expected more...the size of the upgraded seats was not great and there wa no foot rest to put your feet on, which is a significant help to someone who flies so many hours and can assist with circulation...."
Cons: "Tough to have a long-haul flight without functioning seat-back entertainment. Mine never worked. Asked three times about it - three times the system was "rebooted" - to no avail. I told each subsequent flight attendant that it had already been reset - they just "tried" it again. Very frustrating over the course of several hours. No one ever checked to see whether their re-set actually worked. Also, not sure why the window seats now have an arm rest on the window side of the seat - seriously interferes with passenger comfort when trying to sleep."

Cons: "I had booked my Air Canada trip and had a single stop-over while I switched to a different plane. Both of these planes were Air Canada. I Even though I made it through Customs in the shortest time possible, and back through security, I still managed to narrowly make my second flight. They were final-calling my name and actually taking off earlier than expected. Had I been 2 more minutes late, my flight would probably have taken off. I didn't check any bags either, so had I checked one, I don't think I would have made my second flight."

Cons: "One man wanted me to check an empty carry on bag I travel for 10 years with this high quality foldable carry on bag, it is a tight in their test cradle because of the wheels but it does fit. Even a passanger offer me is support telling the agent he was not reasonable after getting the bag in and out 4 times he still wanted me to check the bag in ? After 10 min arguments he said ok put it on the floor ! I could of put 2 of my foldable bag on the top storage if I had 2.... it was a connecting from same airline a much smaller plane which accepeted the bag . Very unpleasant ! Some people like to feel in power."

Cons: "Air Canada failed to transfer my bag from flight 1 to connecting flight 2. This not only happened to me but to other people traveling on the same connecting flight as well. My bag was delivered later then the promised time, it was also returned damaged. It is now almost one week since I have taken my flight and I am unable to process a claim because they have not updated my file via their Bag Tracer program. It is clear that they still have a lot of work to do to be considered a real commercial air line company"
Pros: "Had a great conversation wih a guy from Switzerland an it really helped to pass the time."
Cons: "I didn't like that they either started boarding too early or we waited a long time to get off the runway as it seemed we were on the plane a long time before we actually left. Also we just received our snack and our drink and as soon as we received them, a stewardess told us to all put our tables up and I do believe that it was because we were descending to land. It seemed like forever before we received our snack and then we're told we couldn't use our tables. I think they should have started the snacks earlier as it was quite a big plane and it probably would take quite a long time to serve everyone and the worst part of it all was that I had asked for a can of pop, so I had to hold my can of pop, my glass pop and try to get my snack out of the package which was not easy at all."
Pros: "Air Canada personnel made sure I made the connecting flight from Paris to Denver through passport control and the repeated safety checks in Montreal. The small aircraft was spacious even in economy."
Cons: "A male flight attendant was unwelcoming when I finally got to the plane (being late was not my fault). Did not want to help looking for a spot for my normal size carry on. When I pointed out one above him, he left my bag there and just walked away. I am 69 years old, 5'1"."
Cons: "previous flight was late so we had to be rebooked. The line was insane with 3 agents. The 3rd said go to the other 2 lines. The second went on break leaving one agent. A manager came down and gave the sorry here is our corporate email speech to two girls in line but left without acknowledging all the rest of us waiting. It was a mess. When I got my ticket she was like here you go without explaining anything or a sorry. When I asked for a few details like am I in a hotel overnight or when do I leave she gave me an eye roll. When I got to the plane after traveling all day and waiting extra hours there was an empty row right in front of me. I tried to lay down but the attendant made me move because I hadn't booked comfort plus even though the flight I booked I would have been in Denver hours ago. Things happen but it's all how you deal with it and air canada does not deal well."

Cons: "When I arrived to my seat, the overhead compartment was full. I had no room for my carry-on. I mentioned it to the flight attendant. He just shrugged and told me to put my carry-on under the seat in front of me. So, #1, I guess some people bring more carry-on and the staff lets them. And #2, I guess it wasn't tight enough in those seats and even though I'm over 6 ft, the staff had to make it tighter. Also, when it was time to land, I thought my seat was all the way up. It was not fully all the way up. I was half asleep, and all of sudden, instead of telling me, one of the flight attendant pushed on the button to raise my seat. I would've appreciated him telling me. The landing was delayed, but that's no ones fault at rouge. I am trying to be as objective as I can. Hopefully, when (and if) someone at Air Canada-Rouge reads this, he or she has enough "pull" at the company to ask the proper authorities:"what kind of company are we? Are we a bargain basement flight company that offers just basic flights for extremely low prices? Or are we an average flight company that offer great value for the money the customer pays?" Because, from my perspective as a customer who is at his second experience with Air Canada-Rouge, the feeling that I get from flying with you guys, is that your company offers basic flights that doesn't offer great value for the money. It's more a company that "plays on both fields", taking what suits them, and leaving what doesn't , regardless of their customer. I understand that a company has to make money. It's normal. But, at a certain point, don't you have to think about your customers? To be honest, the only reason I flew with Air Canada-Rouge is that I was stuck with no other choices but to fly with you (schedule, cost, etc.) And I know for a fact that I'm not the only one. The feeling that I get, is that your company counts on customer like me. Customers that are "stuck", with no other alternatives. If your company wants to offer many "cheap direct flights" like Ryanair and Easyjet offer in Europe, I have 2 suggestions: #1: lower your prices. #2 :your staff should be more customer friendly savvy. Because those 2 companies, that's what they offer. Always remember: you can put a lot of maple syrup on a pile of sh***t, it still won't taste like pancakes. Thank you."
Cons: "On the way back from Quebec City to Montreal we were asked to check our carry-ons as luggage, because "there is no room' on the plane. It was an empty flight. ALL overhead compartments were empty. Both flights - Quebec to Montreal and Montreal San Francisco were late. As the result, we have to spend 1.5 hours in the baggage claim area, because "there are no baggage agents in SFO available". THAT WAS THE WHOLE REASON WE ONLY HAD CARRY-ONS! By far, one of the worst flight experience in the last 10 year."

Cons: "Please read previous comments (copied and pasted below) I should never have been sold the flight. The connecting time was too short - even under normal circumstances without delay I was told that I had a solid chance of missing the flight. Furthermore, once I finally made it into Montreal for my connecting flight, no one did anything to expedite my experience. They tried to get me to my final destination 24 hours after I was supposed to be there - they had a packet of accommodations for hotel and flight already prepped (mind you, I had only missing my flight by 10 minutes so clearly my seat was sold to someone else), and they didn't want to accommodate me in any other way. Explaining that I was meeting a friend who had taken another flight, I was told that the problem was not his and there was nothing I could do. Even though I found flights on Kayak and on Air Canada site for an alternate flight getting me out to Europe a few hours later, I was told "no can do." I asked him to speak to a manager and suddenly he was on the phone and (successfully) accomodating me. BUT. The flight was a connecting flight (connection in Rome to final destination Barcelona) - and he hadn't booked me the Rome to Barcelona portion. i was told - "go see the stand in Rome and they will have your ticket ready to go." They didn't have anything on their record but did tell me that this flight should not have been booked for me without having a ticket for my final destination. This was a hellish experience and I will be writing reviews and contacting Air Canada further to discuss this whole process."

Cons: "I missed my connection in Montreal because the flight was 2 hours late to get in and Air Canada staff in Lyon had told me I did not need to get my luggage in Montreal but only in Toronto to go through US custom ... which was not true. The airport staff in Montreal was absolutely unhelpful and sent me in 10 different directions. I was finally rebooked for a later flight, and the person there was finally very nice and helpful."
Cons: "In Toronto they told us that we most likely will miss our flight. Why?? Plenty of time!! No need for miss information. Ground crew not well trained.No boarding pass was given (which is fine). 1 hour wait because of power failure at the airport in Montreal and then we are about to take off and there was an engine failure so we had to come back again . Not good stuff!!!! How would you feel flying again air canada?"
Cons: "On the Montreal-Athens leg the meal was free but of poor quality and quantity. Breakfast was just a piece of banana bread... No entertainment system in the aircraft. Had to rent iPad with very poor quality earphones (struggled to listen to the movies) Also some of the movies were not adjusted for the iPad which translated into using only a portion of the iPad screen."

Cons: "The flight was quite late. I was traveling alone with 3 kids and asked the attendant if he could help us get off early and/or find out at which gate our connecting flight was located. His response, "most people on here have connecting flights." We were unable to board the next flight despite running to get there with time to board, as "our suitcases would not make it." I feel the staff made no effort. At least 12 others also missed this connection and the very small plane could easily have been delayed to load the suitcases."

I was in hold for almost 20min total (international call). Horribly unacceptable. All they initially offered was $50 to cover expenses (insulting)."

Cons: "Flight left late. Customer service at ticketing were nasty and rude. Was charged 25 dollars to check a bag on a international flight. The layover in Toronto was a nightmare!! The whole process of customs, rechecking your bag, and Canadian security was way too long and cumbersome. On top of that my flight to the US ended up leaving 1.5 hrs late and most of the wait time no gate attendant was even there."

One day before the departure, United informed me that one of my kid had to be moved to 11B a part from the rest of family due to a flight swap. When we started boarding, I noted someone else was sitting on my seat (1D) with his own boarding pass with 1D written. United crew politely asked if the gentlemen was willing to move to 6B, which his original seating in the system but he refused to do so. We' also personally explained to him that if he can yield the seat so that our family could sit together due to my wife's medical condition but he would not cooperate. I noted Those gentlemen on 1D and 1C are either buddies or coworkers. The crews were looking at each other without offering a solution. I ended up telling the crew that I could sit on 6B so that the plane can leave. The departure time was 20 min late u related my seating issue and de-icing took another 40 min. I am a Global Service member and I am very unhappy about the way the whole situation was created and handled by United."

Cons: "The boarding time lasted an hour as the front desk staff at the gate insisted that I needed a visa travel document for my connection in China (multiple leg journey). What they failed to realize is that nobody needs a visa for China if they’re connecting in transit. It took a phone call and 3 staff members to sort things out. Not something that I want to deal with at 5:00 am. Moreover, due to the de icing, the flight was late and i just made it to my connecting flight in Newark. It was quite a hair-raising experience overall."

He was so big he was in my space and had didn't make any effort to try not to spill over in my area. I had to put a magazine next to my thigh because his body was so hot it was damp! I hated the entire trip. I was cramped up and extremely uncomfortable. This is simply unacceptable to have this happen because huge people can't fit in one seat. I want these obese people to be required to purchase 2 seats because they take mine."

Disgusted is the only word I can use to describe my experience. Save the hassle, use southwest even if it costs more."

Pros: "Never on Air Canada again. Food was miserable. They literally told me that they ran out of food (on the flight from Montreal to Casablanca). No kidding. They told us that the flight was full and no more food was available! When we asked for water, they did not bring water. I am not sure if they were out of water because the flight was full! That would be something! Bathrooms were not usable. Utterly dirty. My six-year old daughter refused to use the bathrooms. Water was flowing and the smell was horrible. They should clean that. I can go on but what is the point???"

Cons: "My flight was cancelled. When I called United I was in hold for an hour only to be told that my airline was not United but Air Canada. When I called air canada I was on hold for another 45 minutes. They rescheduled my flight for another day. I lost one day of my vacation."
